This product was straight forward to assemble with no hassles what so ever.Yes the 5 blades does make this fan a little noisy but be mindful it is an industrial pedestal fan. With the out put " I FELT LIKE A CANDY WRAPPER IN AN UPDRAFT" I helps you get through a hot day for sure.

A fan that turns off to cool it's self.. unreal.

Gets hot fast and the motor on the fan has a burnt battery fuel smell.. it's to heavy for the base and it's on a angle bending forwards.. I've always dreamed of having a big industrial fan keeping me cool blowing the house away but it's actually disappointing.. it's to expensive to run Aircon and most days I have to because the kids are boiling and the fan just overheats and turns it's self off... What good is that? It's creation is to cool us and it needs to cool it's self... Fair dinkum wouldn't even buy one, at least this brand... Have a plan B if you do..

The fan kept turning off by itself and yet I continued using it until my daughters boyfriend was woken up by the smell of smoke. The fan was literally on fire, flames coming out from the engine. This product should be removed from the shelves, Bunnings said no one else have returned the fan because of the engine catching on fire. I wish I had read the reviews before buying as it speaks for itself. I have contacted Arlec also and no one seems to be concerned that this model caught on fire.

Don't waste your money.
23 February 2023

Don't waste your money.Bought the first one... smelt like burning plastic when running then the motor would turn off then it electrocuted me.Exchanged for the second one. Again, smelt like burning plastic and the motor would stop working after 30 mins.Had to manually bend fans on both to get it to actually blow air. Wouldn't blow out a candle from factory.

Fail

Purchased today and it lasted 30 minutes, if that. It gave off a weird smell as it was running on the low setting and then stopped and died. The motor was red hot to touch. Will be returning for a refund and will purchase something completely different.

Good solid industrial fan
1 February 2023

Have purchased this fan for the very hot period we are experiencing in Brisbane. Assembled it and started it and it was noisy and not much breeze. Reading the reviews it showed that the majority of purchasers had the same outcome. However I was not happy with the Assembly Guide as it did not show which way to install the fan on the shaft. Therefore I removed the fan guard reverted the fan, reassembled the guard and away it went full volume of air...yahoo!!It is the same noise output as a standard fan and the air volume is very good. I definitely would recommend this fan. I also recommend that Arlec add the correct fan rotation in the Assembly Guide and this is why I have given it 4 stars.

Poorest fan ever!
28 January 2023

Very unhappy with this product. After taking ages to put together it is totally breathless. I would have been better with a paper fan I think. It makes a lot of noise but really really poor design so the only part of the fan that moves air is sideways through the edges. The blades are poorly shaped so no air comes out the front and not much is drawn in through the back. I don't recommend it to anyone unless you want to pretend you have a big powerful fan that makes a lot of noise but don't actually like any breeze at all. I can't believe Bunnings continues to sell this product.

Time Will Tell

Have only had it home with me for a matter of an hour - so, it's early days.Having no aircon in my home, I was looking for a solid fan that could comfort me through these stinking, sleepless summer nights. Hence this 'big boy'.First impressions - it's noisy, even on the low speed setting, it's noisy. Not like a light aircraft, but it's getting there. I'm hoping that during those hot nights when its is blowing over my bed that I will become deaf to the noise. I could not imagine trying to have a phone conversation while this thing was operating - nigh impossible, I would think.I'm using it in a single room domestic environment, so, for me, it sure does move some air and I haven't wound it up to the middle and high speed settings yet (not sure that I will need ... MoreHave only had it home with me for a matter of an hour - so, it's early days.Having no aircon in my home, I was looking for a solid fan that could comfort me through these stinking, sleepless summer nights. Who knows? I have not had it long enough to know.

Useless, good for scrap metal

Doesn't even work. Followed the instructions and built exactly as instructed, and it doesn't blow out any air, only if you're standing and facing the side of the blade. Have also ready other reviews wher people have mentioned the blade coukd have been inserted wrogn, have tried both sides and same issue. Waste of time and money.

I Wish I read the reviews before buying ! Would not recommend this fan at all . It’s Super loud - so loud I can’t sleep with it on , it sounds like a jet plane 😑 , almost immediately it would overheat & turn off within a short period of time , until eventually it just wouldn’t turn on at all .. i bought a cheaper fan of the same brand on the same day as I got this one , and it’s overheating too and switching off . They both seem to work over time with little air being put out ..have only owned it three weeks but I have Returned both to Bunnings today , they were very helpful & it was an easy exchange for a different brand . (The lady who helped me told me that she has seen countless numbers of these fans returned ) oh and soooo heavy ! I live rural and had to ... MoreI Wish I read the reviews before buying !
