I have bought 4 of these units. Easy to set up and I have Google home voice control to turn on these 4 socket outlets individually or collectively. A cheap effective way to home automation. As a electrician this was way cheaper than running cables and install separate wall switches. Be sure you have good Wi-Fi.

Pretty good price for this, but be aware that it switches *all* the plugs, with one master control - they're not individually switched.Otherwise, happily works with the plain Tuya app, if that's something you've bought other devices with, and is pretty much the same price as if you'd bought a single plug, and a few dollars for a 4-plug board

Bought from local Bunnings and it paired first time no problem however it was only then that I realised that you can't turn off the individual sockets using the app. It's the whole strip or nothing. If you want all four devices to come on at the same time then go for this otherwise opt for the double priced version that gives 5 sockets, one permanent and the other four individually controllable. Not clear on packaging that it only controls the entire board, hence the 2 stars for wasted time. I'll return and buy the alternative one.

I bought this a month ago, and setup was very finicky with my Google Nest Wifi. I have the new WiFi Mesh Network, which combines 5ghz and 2.4ghz bands. The first time I set this up, it took 20 minutes to get it to connect and seemed by accident after several trys. Two weeks later, it disappeared from my Google Home network, and would not reconnect. After several hours trying to get this to reconnect (using standard and AP Pairing modes) I have given up.Does not always work with new mesh networks so if you can separate your bandwidths, then this is a good product. If you have a new network which auto-selects which bandwidth to use, try another product which works on 5ghz or multiple bands.Really, Arlec needs to bring these products up to date, and move onto ... MoreI bought this a month ago, and setup was very finicky with my Google Nest Wifi. BE AWARE - this is a 4 outlet powerboard, but the "smartness" only applies to the entire board - you can't control each outlet individually! Who thought that would be a good idea? "This Smart 4 Outlet Powerboard gives you the control of turning on or off anything that is plugged into it." - this is incorrect, and should be updated to reflect that it only turns the entire board on and off, not individual outlets!
Previously bought a 4-point Arlec Grid Connect which was individually controlled, great for lighting control. Bought this one without realising that it’s all 4 x ports on or off, no in between. Whilst good value at $20, it’s not really what I was after. Looks like they don’t offer the power board I bought previously, the new version has USB outputs and costs about $42. Otherwise seamlessly integrates with Google Home and voice control.
Bought this several months ago, and it is by far the most unreliable smart home product I’ve ever had the displeasure of using. It took almost two hours to set it up because the app times out during set up and pairing. It routinely drops the connection every few days at which point you have to try pair it again, and Alexa seems to drop the skill control the plug stays offline for more than a day. Save your money and get a dLink, grid connect seems to be rubbish.
Thought it was the individually switched model, but alas only controls all 4. Overlooking that, it uses the crap tuya firmware that only talks with Chinese servers, and turns out to be unflashable. So I opened it up to see whether I could replace the control chip with something more useful. Found the circuit breaker dodgily crimped, with the remaining uncrimped copper strands brushing up against a power supply filter. Give that a couple of years of vibration and you'll find unfused 240v arcing across your powerboard. That's if it doesn't melt and arc before then because it'll only be able to carry a few amps before overheating.
Unlike other reviewers, I have a passing familiarity with written English. The packaging CLEARLY states that there is no individual control of sockets and it has a 'Master On/Off' switch. If you were unable to decipher that rather 'ambiguous clue' then the fact that this powerboard costs HALF the price of the more advanced single socket control powerboard SHOULD be another 'clue' that this is a cheaper board with less functionality than the more expensive one. How 'deceptive' of them ... I know right? That aside - 4 months in, the Powerboard still working fine. Allows me to kill all the power in my son's room automagically so he can't sneak onto the computer (at 3am to download and checkout the latest game expansion like he did a while back) or watch TV past bedtime
Highly recommend not buying these. They are great, for a few months only. First one went back for exchange when the on/off switch stopped working. Second one tried to set itself on fire when the on/off switch stopped working. Clearly significant design flaws in this product.
