After using the brushes without the paste for a couple of months, I believe they are useful, but I’m not convinced that it is practical to expect yourself to jam stuff in a cat’s mouth on the reg as part of any enjoyable routine.

The smell is kind of off putting. I’ve smelled better pet tooth paste that was more appealing to pets. However, my cat is willing to let me brush his teeth with some bribery. I’ve used my finger like it says for first time brushers, (it came with a tooth brush and finger cap) and noticed i could feel some of the plague coming off his teeth as I was brushing. He doesn’t drool as much anymore either so this is really helping. The finger cap it came with is a bit big for a cats mouth so id prefer my finger over it. The flavour I got was tuna, but it doesn’t really smell like that. Im seeing major results, despite the off putting smell.

My dentist gave me a list of toothpastes and their abrasive level. I had no idea some toothpastes are very rough and should be avoided. This is my go to toothpaste for years. I was thrilled to see this is on the low level for abrasiveness. WOO HOO! I truly love this toothpaste. It has the highest level of fluoride that I could find in a drugstore toothpaste. I like that it cleans and bubbles up as you clean. I enjoy the flavor and it freshens your breathe. It is not a whitening toothpaste per the label, but it does a light amount of whitening. I get the double pack at my local Walmart which is a great price.

While this toothpaste doesn’t offer the usual “minty taste” of toothpastes, it does a decent job with cleaning your teeth. It’s a no frills kind of toothpaste and isn’t so abrasive on sensitive teeth. Has a little grit to it, but I don’t mind it. Makes my teeth feel pretty clean afterwards. My boyfriend will only use this toothpaste now.

So. I'm sure this is a good product, it sounds like it's pretty natural and I'm sure it's effective against my cat's occasional funky breath if only I could actually use it. However, she recoils as soon as she smells it. So, so far I haven't been able to clean her teeth with it. Plus it's expensive! A little tube cost me seven dollars, (granted it did come with a toothbrush) and that was on sale! So I'm not sure what to do with it. But I won't be buying it again, at least not for Cruiser.

I love Arm Hammer products but this will NEVER be in my cabinet. This might work for others but for me it was a definite no go. I brush my teeth twice a day and it made my gums super inflamed and my teeth were left more sensitive than normal. I had braces when I was younger which leaves my teeth sensitive than others already. I also have sensitive gums from other health problems. For me this was not a good fit. However, when I used it my teeth were always looking whiter breath feeling fresh.

This toothpaste is enzyme-based, so it keeps working after you stop brushing. Honestly, expect a little pink on the brush—your dog probably hasn’t been brushed so those gums won’t be used to the brushing. Another big factor of the success of this toothpaste and tooth brushing is the cooperation and temperament of your dog. If your pooch is touchy about her mouth or tries to attack the brush, just get an enzyme wash and call it. Not worth getting bitten or jabbing your dog painfully in the gums. My experience is to kinda follow the directions on the package. Focus on the base of the tooth where tartar and plaque build up and brush the back of the teeth as well. My dog was appalled by the smell

I’ve never seen my dog have a physical reaction to anything like he did to the smell of this toothpaste. It’s like he was offended that I even offered it to him. With lots of praise and a little coercion he eventually let me brush he teeth a little bit. My other dog won’t even consider it at all, she hated the smell of the toothpaste so much that she left the room. I will say the first dogs breath is fresher than before brushing, so it works if you can convince your furbaby to let you do it.

Love the toothbrush. I have a terrier mix with an under bite. So, the two heads of the toothbrush helps for my dogs unique mouth shape. But my dog hated the toothpaste. I personally think it smelled bad as well. We already have the vanilla flavor from Arm and Hammer and she loves that one. Keeping the toothbrush but donating the toothpaste

Not for my cat

Maybe this works for other cats, but my cat - who doesn't have a picky palette at all, for the record - sniffed this and completely avoided it. I tried exposing him to it over the course of a week or so, putting a little dab on his favorite treats just to see if he'd go for that. He did, very begrudgingly. Today, I tricked him a little and got him to actually lick a dab of it, and he seemed absolutely disgusted and put off... Honestly it was sort of funny. From the human perspective though, I don't like the smell of the toothpaste so I'm not surprised he turned his nose up.
