I love this tahini. It's smooth creamy texture and flavor combine perfectly with the dark chocolate dreams peanut butter that I also love. By adding this tahini, the peanut butter's consistency is improved. It becomes a little softer and easier to spread and also a little less sweet. I also add a bit of coconut cream to really round out the flavor!

I used this Artisana Orgranic Raw Tahini to make halva a couple days ago. The flavor of this tahini is full on sesame and reminds me (fools me) into feeling that it's peanut butter. It's very good quality and it made an excellent halva. That's the only way I've ever used tahini, but on the label it also suggests using as a dip, or a peanut butter substitute. Both sound good to me. If you like good sesame, this is a good one to try.

I have bought this several times after experimenting with many brands. It's the one I look for. I like it because I prefer the taste of raw sesame and because this one does not separate as badly as some brands of tahini. I prefer raw sesame tahini because it tastes sweeter and a little more earthy / herbal, compared to even the lightest roasted sesame tahinis, which tastes a little bitter & burnt. For a quick pick-me-up on cold winter afternoons, I like to mix this with some honey & salt.
I rated this a 4-star product only because I like the black tahini a bit better. But the black tahini is very messy. I like both, stirred with orange juice. (I squeeze my own from organic oranges.) I call this concoction "Poor Man's Halvah." Of course, I love real halvah but can't have sugar now. So this is a good substitute.
This was my first time trying tahini on it's own, I purchased it as a replacement for peanut butter. First impression, I thought the price was great for a 14 oz jar! You really only need a little bit, so it should last a while. Secondly, of course given that this is just raw sesame seeds with no added ingredients, it will taste slightly bitter. I reccommended using it as a base for dressings/dips/spreads etc. I used it as a spread on crackers with a drizzle of honey and it was delicious. Honestly can't think of a better brand that sells raw, good quality tahini.
You know immediately by the taste that it is raw. It is smooth and soft with incredible good taste and body. Not runny like other tahinis. Absolutely delicious. I eat it with a spoon directly from the jar, put it on salads and grains. It makes a fantastic tahini sauce with lemon and miso.
