This is my second pair of Ascent work shoes. The first pair were extremely comfortable and is it turned out, durable as well. It was on the strength of this that I purchased the new pair. The 'Contest' are look business like and have the advantage of of supporting the foot like a quality runner.I would have given 5 stars except one shoe is a little uncomfortable at the heel. This has improved somewhat in the 3 weeks I've been wearing them and expect it will continue to improve.

Hands down the best work shoe ever. Lasts for 12 months or more and super comfortable.I hope that Athletes foot never dumps this shoe from the range.Office workers from everywhere will protest head office if they do.

I have been working in an office environment for over 6 years. The one issue I had was finding supportive and strong pair of business shoes.Previously I purchased my business shoes through dress shops, and found that they would only last 6-12 months.I wasn’t sure if the athletes foot even sold business shoes.I found this out after visiting Chermside Westfield.After putting these shoes on, paired with light feet support insoles I was instantly sold.For someone that has a very low arch, I found these very supporting to the point I where I would enjoy getting up from my desk and going for walks.The grip on the outside sole is a bonus. First pair leather ripped after one day of school wear. Thank yoy ascent for the exchange. 2nd pair resulted in blisters on heels, which has never happened with 11 years of wearing this brand.
Great to find a true wide fit shoe. Amazing service from the staff. Had to order as there were no sizes available in store. Received the shoes in 2 days!
Having wide feet getting shoes that fit is not an easy task. I needed some dress shoes for some events coming up and decided on Ascent Contest Black. I normally take a size 10 so I ordered a pair and they were sent overnight which was great. I tried them on for two mins and thought these are a bit tight. Emailed Frames Footwear and asked if I could possibly swap to the next size up. This was no problem at all, but then thought I should actually wear them around the house for a bit, and I did. Wow, they were actually quite comfortable and being leather will stretch in time. I have been to a couple of events now and the shoes are fantastic. Thank you Frames Footwear :)
Usually I have to buy full sizes but this shoe comes in half sizes and 10 1/2 is perfect. I have a wide foot and Ascent was wide enough for me. Comfortable, perfect for my teaching job which requires a lot of standing and moving around on the job, as well as the odd kick about in the playground.
I've never had the amount of blisters, pain and aches from a new shoe that I experienced with these.It simply doesn't flex and contort to the shape of the foot well enough.Granted there are things you can do to minimize this but this is easily the harshest pair of shoes i've ever owned, constantly digging into the heel and makes walking a painful experience.
If you want shoes that are comfortable and last long - these are the shoes I would recommend. I first bought them for my husband and then my two boys tried them and were hooked. Especially for ankle problems and wide feet. No more designer shoes! Great for work and walking. Highly recommend them!
Purchased off the internet, knowing I needed a 4E... and usual 10.5-11, went the 10.5, and width wise are good but foot sit low in the shoe. The heel across the achillies is painful, within 500m already had blisters. Wearing insoles to push my foot higher, and it still feels like it's the "breaking in" period. Will persist.
