BAIT and Asics return with the second installment of the Bay Pack, the Gel Lyte V “Misfits.” Like its predecessor, the “Splash City,” the shoe is designed to celebrate San Francisco by incorporating influences from a storied Bay Area sports fixture. The collaboration draws inspiration from the roster of misfits that became champions of the baseball world in 2010, incorporating the bold colors of their jerseys into Asics’ classic Gel Lyte V silhouette. The upper is done in a mixture of black pigskin suede and nubuck, along with deep orange pigskin covering the mudguard and heel. The midsole features the team’s trademark cream color accented with an orange gradient fade design. The tiger-stripe is highlighted with reflective 3M underlays. BAIT baseball artwork is printed on the insole. Additional touches include leather details, tonal “Asics” and ‘Gel Lyte V” branding, and three lace options – black rope, black flat, and orange flat.
