A step back in time is a step forward in quality
I bought a pair of Kayano 14's after being so impressed with the re-issue of the Kayano 14RE. Whilst the 14's don't quite have the style and subtle detailing of the 14RE, for comfort and motion control it is all but identical and a big step forward over recent Kayano models. As stated in my 14RE review I believe the older style forefoot construction is far superior to the recent mesh construction for a 'motion control' shoe. I'll take some photo's to highlight how Asics have, in my opinion, cut corners on the newer Kayano models which mean they do not function as well, are not as comfortable and don't last anywhere near as well as their older shoes. In the photo's I'll compare the 14's to a Kayano 28 to show you how the later Kayano has a much simpler construction, ... In the photo's I'll compare the 14's to a Kayano 28 to show you how the later Kayano has a much simpler construction, no forefoot gel, basic sole with a less developed midsole. The modern Kayano just feels like a cheap shoe in comparison to the 14. I'll also include a picture of the 14 next to the 14RE so you can see the extra design details on the RE. Both the 14's are fantastic motion control shoes and really highlight how far the Kayano has fallen in recent years. Please Asics, either keep doing these re-issues or go back to this style of design/construction. Premium prices demand a premium product like the Kayano 14!... Show more

A true classic
Thanks so much for bringing this shoe back. I just love the support, style and durability of this shoe, which is so much more substantial than the more recent models which lack upper support and have soles that wear out in no time. I've been jogging /running in Gel Kayanos since the very beginning. I'll take the extra few ounces of weight to have better protection, support and durbility any time. I just wish I could find them in stock in more colours.... Show more

Best shoes for custom insoles
So pleased. I’ve always had an absolute nightmare buying shoes but ASICS never fail me! They fit perfectly. They are comfy from day one. They last for ages.I don’t wear them as running shoes just as everyday shoes that are suitable for insoles. I remove the insoles that comes with the shoes and put my own in. This is easy and quick to do as the regular insole isn’t glued down in the shoe.ASICS are so consistent and good. I’ve never had any issues and they are they only brand I can buy any of their shoes online and have never had to send them back.... Show more

Gel Kayano 14 (White / Malachite Green)
Incredible sneaker for those nostalgic 2000’s vibes. I was surprised at just how well it worked for my feet. The arch and heel support feels so good while the open mesh keeps the shoe very breathable. All of this makes for a very comfortable overall wearing experience that looks fantastic on foot. Can’t wait for the Eagles season to start so I can pair them with my Kelly Green gear!... Show more

HOLY GRAIL OF RUNNERS
I bought the "Metallic Plum" Gel Kayano 14 and I could not believe how cold they are for a pair of sneakers that has remained so hot all these years. They are like edible gold here in the UK - hard to come by like gold dust and when they are restocked, they are eaten quickly. I bought mine online and stayed out all day for the post man not dissimilar to how my dog awaits my return home after dusk. I tipped the courier - I was that excited (although I did not shoe it oops I mean show it. I am that cool). He said it was the first time he had been tipped. He asked me why I had been so generous. I told him I have never been happier to own a pair of shoes "I do not intend to fully wear out". I live in Manchester and it rains everyday. He said "right". I have since wore ... Once I am out of the car, I change into my church shoes to go into office. Comfiest shoes ever. Slick design. Cold silvery touch. Gel technology is Jetson futuristic and still reminiscent of the 2000s. I am about to wear it now. I will still take them off before I get out, don't worry.... Show more

Inferior Quality. Shoe cracked less than 3 m
Hi ASIC Customer service,I am writing to express my disappointment with the quality of your Asic Ksyano Gel 14 that I purchased on June 2024 from Asic retailer in Singapore. Kayano - reliably solid shoe.
Bought these as I always used to wear 2010's, 2040, 2050 that sort of shoes, had a brilliant cross country shoe too, but recently Asics and other brands have gone for elasticated uppers and large wedge foams, which I find do not last well. The Kayano is oldstyle gel shoe, firm uppers and wrapping feel rather that the elasticated modernday counterparts. Not disappointed, size and fitting are fine, sturdy shoe. Missing the carbon rubber ahar heel pad, but otherwise a familiar good quality product... Show more

My first pair of Kayano 14
I'm really pleased with this nice pair of shoes. Comfort is superior depending of your preference, ortholite insole combined with gel technology gives you a softer feel.Sizing: my TTS is 7.5 and ordered an 8 based on reviews. Length is ok leaving good space, in width maybe there is too much room for me. But not a big problem that I could solve with thicker socks.Overall quality is good but if the materials were a little better, I would give 5 stars and a preferred place as my number one sneakers.PD: Be persistent if you don't find your size. I copped the Cream/Pure Silver and the Black/Coffee ones.... Show more

Style meets comfort and legendary design
I was a little skeptical at first but these shoes in this color way has won me over. I’m a sneaker guy, I love shoes in general. You see a lot of Jordan 1s everywhere you go these days. This shoe is a great throwback to 15 years ago and is easily worn with jeans, slacks or workout gear. On top of the look they are just a great shoe design and extremely comfortable. Expand your sneaker collection! There’s more out there than what everyone else already has. The Kayano 14s are a great place to start.... Show more
