Defective shoe and HORRIBLE customer service
29 October 2022

ASICS does not stand behind their products. I would have rated "0" if I could. Good wide shoe suitable for bunions and foot issue
24 June 2023

Bought these trainers for general walking after foot surgery which had left me with some pain and discomfort from subsequent arthritis. My surgeon said I was over pronating when I walk and these are recommended for this. I do think they have helped me regain a correct walking gait. They are really comfortable for walking and give good support. They have a wide toe base which helps as I have a bunion on my other foot. My only criticism would be they are quite "stiff" when you first wear them as the lacing is tight ( which can be altered) but soften up after a while. They look good and the colour is nice and bright. Would definitely recommend as a walking/ hiking shoe for someone with foot issues

Hands down the best running shoes for narrow feet!
1 January 2023

For runners with narrow feet (AA), these are by far the best running shoes on the market. I started with Gel Nimbus, but ASICS stopped making them in narrow sizes, so switched to Gel Cumulus, but found that the GEL-KAYANO provide the best cushion and narrow upper for my foot.My feet don't slide around in them (no blisters!) and I don't have to double/triple knot the laces due to having to lace them up to get them to fit. I am now on my second pair and have stocked up with three more pairs, just in case ASICS decides to stop making these in narrow sizes (please don't, ASICS!).My only wish is that I could have a couple of pairs in colors other than black, black or black...gets a little boring, but I will trade boring for a great fit. Loved the black shoes, hate the white/blue ones
14 September 2022

I originally bought the black gel kayano shoes in April 2022 and I absolutely love them!!! They are the best running shoes I have ever ran in, they are stable, lots of cushioning, and helped my shin splints so much. Two weeks ago I decided to buy another pair due to some slight wear that I could feel while running and didn't even give it a second thought about what kind of shoe to order. I ordered them online and decided to go with the white/ blue in the same shoe because it is so pretty with the different colored sole. I started running with this shoe and started to have hip pain, that progressed to leg pain, and now have shin splints again that are even worse than before. I then went back online and realized that of all the different shoe colors to pick from this is the only on that is different. Now I am stuck with a shoe that is horrible and I can't wear and out $119.00 because I have now had them for two weeks. These are not the same shoes and after looking at the pictures you can see that the inside of the shoe is different and the logo on the tongue. There should be a disclaimer of some kind letting people know that this is different. I definitely feel deceived and so disappointed. I was so excited to finally find a shoe I loved and now I have to but another pair --just in black.

Not as good as the Gel-Kayano 27
3 March 2023

I have been buying Gel-Kayano's for years...at least since series 24. They have always been my go-to shoe. I have flat feet and overpronate. These allow me to run without any issues at all. However, the Gel-Kayano 28 hurt my feet. They were too narrow in the arch and toe box. Previous versions were wider. Unfortunately, I didn't realize this until after I ran in them and my toes were bruised. I don't have a wide foot at all.. I used to be a more of a regular/narrow (being able to fit in either until I had children. I am no longer able to wear a narrow width shoe, but am nowhere near the wide end. These were just too snug/narrow for me. I was very disappointed. Overall they are good shoes but just too narrow. Sometimes "new" isn't better..it's just new. Not comfortable for running
28 April 2023

I have been trying to get used to these shoes for a couple of months. I started developing foot pain in my left foot after using these on a regular basis. I thought maybe I was forming a bunion. It was really painful. Then I tried using my old shoes for a while, and the pain stopped for two weeks. Tonight I thought I would give it another try, and as I was running, the foot pain started back again, this time in both feet. The pain is on the inside ball of my foot and is causing sharp shooting I thought maybe the shoes were too narrow, but they are not. I am not sure why these are so uncomfortable. I have purchased many ASICS in the same size and style, so I am not sure why. These are so different and causing so much pain. Very disappointing.

Upgrade from Gel Kayano 26
9 July 2023

Since I bought a pair of Gel Kayano 26 in 2020, I am addicted to the Kayano range. I am over pronation and honestly I will never use any other stability shoes. The Gel Kayano 28 has more padding in the surface area of the shoes. It feels more springy. The shoes have more cushion in the sole and I look taller in them than Kayano 26. The only thing is that the 28 model is not suitable for someone with chubby or wider feet. It is narrower at the front and middle of the shoes due to the heavy padding. The heel area also pushing inward so if you have big ankles they may not be the best. I had needle pain and burning sensation when I run in them when they are new. So please make sure you break the shoes by walking in them for at least a few days before you run a 10k in ... MoreSince I bought a pair of Gel Kayano 26 in 2020, I am addicted to the Kayano range. So please make sure you break the shoes by walking in them for at least a few days before you run a 10k in them. Overall the price is very competitive, the quality is top notch, the design is attractive, I cannot fault it at all.
