Best shoes for over pronation!

I recently discovered I’ve been wearing the wrong shoes my whole life! During physical therapy my therapist noticed how my foot goes inward when doing stabilizing exercises. She recommended a shoe for over pronation and ASICS was one of the brands she said offered shoes for that. ASICS was by far the easiest way to shop for my specific shoe issue online. At first I was worried cause this shoe is pretty bulky and not typical of the mesh bendy shoes I’ve always bought. However, this shoe is so incredibly comfortable! I can’t even wear other running shoes or fashion sneakers without noticing the huge difference in support in my feet. If you have an over pronation (your fit turns inward when you run/walk), definitely give this shoe a try!

Excellent choice for a road shoe
5 December 2022

These were purchased for my wife. She runs triathlons, Ironmans, etc., and we both have always worn Asics (Gel Kayanos) Probably three years ago…we noticed the sizing and the support/padding had changed. They seemed to run a size smaller. She moved up to a 7/12 and mine have evolved from an 11 to a 13 over the past 15 years or so. 🤷🏽‍♂️ She did remark that these GK-28’s were the MOST comfortable models she has worn in a long time and reminded her of the way they used to feel years ago. So…this is a step in the right corporate direction for Asics. We purchased 6 pairs of shoes. She bought (3) of the GK-28’s. IMHO she is very particular about her equipment ..and her choice speaks volumes about the fit and quality. Good luck.

Good for running
27 January 2023

These shoes were really nice when I wore them for running my track practices. They helped with my shin splints a lot. However, I did start to feel plantar fasciitis pains when I wore them. After not wearing them, the pain is gone. I do not recommend wearing these shoes on the treadmill. I gave me major inside foot pain and huge blisters every time. After wearing these shoes for two months for track practices, the mesh on the top started to fade. I now have a big hole in my left shoe where my big toe would be. Keep in mind, this was for an intense workout Monday through Fridays. I will say for what I spent on them, I was not happy to find them unusable after 2 months.

Hands down the best running shoes for narrow feet!
1 January 2023

For runners with narrow feet (AA), these are by far the best running shoes on the market. I started with Gel Nimbus, but ASICS stopped making them in narrow sizes, so switched to Gel Cumulus, but found that the GEL-KAYANO provide the best cushion and narrow upper for my foot.My feet don't slide around in them (no blisters!) and I don't have to double/triple knot the laces due to having to lace them up to get them to fit. I am now on my second pair and have stocked up with three more pairs, just in case ASICS decides to stop making these in narrow sizes (please don't, ASICS!).My only wish is that I could have a couple of pairs in colors other than black, black or black...gets a little boring, but I will trade boring for a great fit. Loved the black shoes, hate the white/blue ones
14 September 2022

I originally bought the black gel kayano shoes in April 2022 and I absolutely love them!!! They are the best running shoes I have ever ran in, they are stable, lots of cushioning, and helped my shin splints so much. Two weeks ago I decided to buy another pair due to some slight wear that I could feel while running and didn't even give it a second thought about what kind of shoe to order. I ordered them online and decided to go with the white/ blue in the same shoe because it is so pretty with the different colored sole. I started running with this shoe and started to have hip pain, that progressed to leg pain, and now have shin splints again that are even worse than before. I then went back online and realized that of all the different shoe colors to pick from this is the only on that is different. Now I am stuck with a shoe that is horrible and I can't wear and out $119.00 because I have now had them for two weeks. These are not the same shoes and after looking at the pictures you can see that the inside of the shoe is different and the logo on the tongue. There should be a disclaimer of some kind letting people know that this is different. I definitely feel deceived and so disappointed. I was so excited to finally find a shoe I loved and now I have to but another pair --just in black.

Made for very small feet

FYI - This shoe runs quite small; I had to return them. I bought the right size, and they fit in the length and width of my foot, but they didn’t close over my foot. The sides of the shoe did not reach the tongue. I decided to go with new balance instead to replace my old new balance shoes. Just ensure that you can return and exchange for something else before you buy. Im glad that style runner accepted my return so I could try a different shoe. I must say that the express shipping really is express. I ordered this pair one evening and less than 24 hours later they were delivered. They don’t muck around with their picking and packing that’s for sure. Returns process was simple enough. Not comfortable for running
28 April 2023

I have been trying to get used to these shoes for a couple of months. I started developing foot pain in my left foot after using these on a regular basis. I thought maybe I was forming a bunion. It was really painful. Then I tried using my old shoes for a while, and the pain stopped for two weeks. Tonight I thought I would give it another try, and as I was running, the foot pain started back again, this time in both feet. The pain is on the inside ball of my foot and is causing sharp shooting I thought maybe the shoes were too narrow, but they are not. I am not sure why these are so uncomfortable. I have purchased many ASICS in the same size and style, so I am not sure why. These are so different and causing so much pain. Very disappointing.
