Gel Kayano’s are a fabulous shoe and are top of the range ASICS giving maximum support and stability for growing feet. Well suited for kids that over pronate (feet roll in). Extremely comfortable with cushioned soles and great for running.

Best running shoe in the market! My son is an athlete and suffers from plantar fasciitis. This is the only shoe that provides relief from his pain and the only shoe where his feet feel comfortable. Highly recommend this shoe!

I bought these for my grandson and he loves them! I have been wearing the adult version of these shoes for years. So comfortable! I changed to ASICS because the previous brand I wore made my toes numb and never had the problem with ASICS.

Shoes were confidently ordered online as I've worn the same size Kayano for years. Order showed the show to be the same length as my old shoe. When it arrived it was in fact size too small. I don't know what went wrong with the Kayano 29s, but the sizing is out. Order a size up. Save yourself some hassle.
Not what I expected from Kayanos. I’m a kids 5 or adult 6 (23) Was told they were the same design & build as adults. Thought I’d save a small amount of money & kids size as they actually fit better. Waste of money. They are hard, not supportive or cushioning at all. Would never want my children wearing these.
Not durable enough for kids. My 9 year old daughter (who is gentle on her shoes) was recommend this shoe in store. Paid $179.99 on March 12, 2023. I didn't realise at the time but the shoe doesn't have the plastic cover/outer fabric that wraps around the front of the shoe covering the delicate breathable fabric (most kids shoes seem to have this). After 3 short wears a small hole appeared in the delicate fabric at the front of the shoe (see photo dated March 18) . Now the fabric has completely torn away (see latest photo). Note that this has occurred exactly where this outer protective layer should be. Her other Asics and her Nikes have not worn like this at all and have had many, many months of wear. Purchased for my 11 year old son for school. We are roughly 3-4 weeks in. He loves the shoes and talks about how comfortable they are. The base of the shoe is already having the grips come apart - some have completely come off. I under its rubber and glue but I did expect them to last a little longer than they have.
I bought these as school shoes for my daughter when she started intermediate and needed to wear completely black shoes as part of her uniform. The sneakers are a breathable upper and are suitable for all school activities both inside and outside the classroom. They are comfortable enough to be worn all day, and were a great price online. Delivery direct from ASICS was super quick. Really happy with these.
My son has worn the GT-1000 for years with no issues. He has flat feet and we decided to upgrade to the Kayano. After three brief outings, his right ankle started to hurt. He mentioned the cushioning was uneven between the shoes with the right one being noticeably less. It is also a very narrow shoe. There is no way this is standard width and much narrower than the GT-1000. If you do get the shoe, please have your child try it for a little while before removing tags and going out since it's an expensive shoe. Very disappointed that we wasted so much money and cannot return.
These were a terrible runner! Thickness of the heel made it near impossible to get my sons foot in without it bending over. Worst design ever. I've never had trouble with asics before but this particular style was disastrous!!!!
