The Kayano 31 continues to feature FF BLAST PLUS ECO foam and PureGEL technology in the midsole, for a smooth, cushioned and stable ride. The innovative 4D Guidance System Asics introduced in Kayano 30 has been rolled over into the Kayano 31, featuring a wide midsole surface area, medial convex geometry, lateral decoupling groove and guidance line which ensures a stable and supportive stride. Beauty, quality and comfort three in one!

The first impression was purely visual, as you can see for yourself, this model is extremely elegant, especially in these colors. I can safely say that this is an extremely beautiful shoe that catches people's eyes! Another thing that made a strong impression on me is the stability that this model brings. I've had Kayanos for over a decade and these are a big improvement over some models. Fit was great, and the wider toe box on the 31s is a nice change over what was becoming a narrower trend. The ankle sock/band was also better than past years with a softer and snugger feel/fit.The changes in the shoe in the midsole were a positive. I would have concerns with long term durability based on a lot of exposed soft foam but first feel was ok.Two areas I was less thrilled with: this much foam in the midsole and outer sole left me feeling a little "floaty" feeling when using my orthotics. It's a high sole to begin with, almost Hoka-like, and while it was not uncomfortable it took some getting used to.The other was the lacing across the top of my foot. I bought these a few months ago and have worn them on several runs.I love the feel of the shoe. They're my go-to pair for my long-running days (10-15km).Great stability, perfect for heel strikers due to the improved cushioning from the last model, roomy, and breathability is great. Might be on the chunkier side for some people, but I would highly recommend to try them out in-store.Remember; every foot is different, every body is different, so go try them out for yourself.

Kayano never disappoints
13 October 2024

I was specifically looking for a black/black shoe for refereeing youth football. I have ran in Kayano's for decades. I have always kept it in my running shoe rotation for all of my marathon and ultra training. With lesser miles under my belt over the past 6 months, I have felt the need to go back to a support shoe for many of my other activities. This Kayano 31 looks sharp and feels a bit lighter than some of its predecessors. I'm absolutely satisfied.

Much improved from Kayano 30
11 August 2024

I used to a great fan of Asics Gel Kayano but when they upgraded to 29 series I was somewhat disappointed with the the heavier weight and bulky feeling. I tired another shoes but developed a leg injury. After visiting my physio, he recommended me to go back to my stability shoes. With his encouragement I tried the 29 series and it helped me to run three times a week. When 31 came out, I watched a review and bought a pair. I really like the new design, the toes box is good and it provides the support I need to run a marathon.

Would absolutely not recommend this shoe
30 July 2024

Very narrow, different colors fit differently. A in store associate told me this is true for most shoes for both men and women and that really sucks. I felt like all my toes were being smashed at the top despite wearing the same exact size in another pair of Kayano 31s. The return policy is not friendly/practical and they wouldn’t let me return only because I took off the top tag. Customer service was also not nice over the phone. I would not recommend this shoe and now will go with other brands with a better return policy.

[Rewarded Review] Big improvement over the 30s
17 September 2024

This is my 4th iteration of wearing Kayano's due to a slight overpronation (average about 15-20 miles a week). Coming directly from the 30's the 31 is a marked improvement. The last overhaul with the GK30 was great although I felt the fit was slightly small and the resilience of the internal material wasn't great. Having now run about 50 miles in the GK31s there are lots of subtle changes which I think make a significant difference to the day-to-day use. More room in the toe box means they fit much more true to size (I found the last iteration slightly small and I fell in between a 10-10.5, having always been a 10 in Asics). There is better return and "bounce" from the mid foot and better cushioning all round. The support is great and adapts to fatigue really well. ... MoreThis is my 4th iteration of wearing Kayano's due to a slight overpronation (average about 15-20 miles a week). This is a solid workhorse but the updated design does allow for a bit of speedwork slotted in to the routine. Great shoe and big fan of this colourway! Would highly recommend for anyone looking for a high quality stability shoe for slight-moderate overpronation.

[Rewarded Review] Brilliant comfort and support again!
20 July 2024

I’ve been a long term user of the Gel Kayano and they’ve got me through thousands of miles. A genuinely hard working shoe with great support. I absolutely loved the 30 and the 31 has brought improvements that are noticeable from the moment you put them on. Extra padding as you slide in with your foot and loops at the back to help pull them on. Such a comfortable ride too, building on the big improvements that came in the 30 in that department. The 4D guidance system still there to help maintain and adapt support throughout the run - whatever the distance. Can’t wait to clock up even more miles in these for training and long distance events! Thanks ASICS for another brilliant iteration of my favourite.

[Rewarded Review] My New Babies for any type of running
23 July 2024

Hi all. I using this colorfull Asics Kayano 31 more than three weeks already. I have maybe around 300 hundred km with them. What are my first impressions: These snickers are strongly for people who wish to train every day and have implemented their workout in their everyday lifecycle. The stability and comfort in these shoes is very impressive . It offers support, cushions, light, reliable and good experience for every feet.

[Rewarded Review] The best yet!
3 July 2024

I've been running in Kayanos for about 18 months now after switching from the Nimbus and needing something a little more supportive...the Kayano did not disappoint and I'm pleased to say that the 31s feel like the best version yet. They're supportive for us over-pronators to prevent injury and niggles but also feel very responsive and quite speedy - although they're cushioned, they don't feel spongey at all so you're not losing any dynamism with your running. They really are a fab shoe, highly recommend them...oh and the new colour way? GLORIOUS! What a celebration of sport!
