I never knew new about the importance of studying your feet and wearing shoes that are made especially for your feet. After dragging myself for almost a week, at seven months pregnant I looked endlessly for a store that would cater to my needs. I have very flat feet and carry a lot of weight on me and I reached a point where I couldn't even get out of the couch. Thankfully I found Road Runner Sports and was assisted in the best way possible. I had purchased one set of shoes which I returned with the 90 Day return policy and I found these shoes which had been released three days before. I love them! The white part on the bottom helps stabilize me and maintain a straighter stand and walk. I feel like I'm floating and I am the most active pregnant woman out there :) At ... I am very happy with this shoe. I enjoy the black and white colors and even if I didn't' care for the colors I wouldn't lower my rating. I hope you don't either. I have used the shoes without the RRS insoles and there is a slight difference in the way I stand and walk; however, if you do not suffer from flat feet like I do, you have a choice of wearing these shoes with the insoles the shoe comes with. I personally prefer the RRS insoles which help me balance.

I purchased my Asics gel-nimbus 21 approximately one month ago after asking my Google Home, "What running shoes are best for those with shin splints?" Asics gel-nimbus 20 was one of the answers. Therefore, I elected to purchase a pair of the newer version (21) from Shoebacca online. Finding the shoes and navigating the website was easy. The price (on sale) was great. I ordered 8.5, which is the correct size. However, I probably should have ordered 8.5 wide as my pair fits snug over my mid-foot. The fore-foot portion fits just fine (surrounding my toes). Anyhow, I've walked and jogged about 50 miles (3 miles/ workout x 16 different days). They did help some with my shin splints. However, they did NOT entirely eliminate them, but can I expect any running shoe to accomplish that task? I typically walk about 1/2 mile and stretch before I walk / jog 3 miles. Perhaps I'll have to dorsi and plantar flex my foot/ankle more before jogging to eliminate my shin splints altogether. I consider myself to have a normal arch (no pes planus or pes cavus), but I have suffered from plantar fasciitis in the past. These shoes are great in that I've not experienced calcaneal or arch pain. Overall, I give them a 4/5 as I cannot blame shin splints of running shoes. Shoebacca as a company is OUTSTANDING.

This is my 5th pair of Asics running shoes and I love them! The Nimbus line has provided reliable and consistent performance, again and again. I've done several 10k runs now with my Nimbus 21s. From the start, these shoes were immediately comfortable and a good fit for my feet. There was not a break in period needed. These running shoes provide good support for the overpronation in my stride where the outside of my heels hit the ground first. I love the color, chili pepper red. The shoes came with an extra set of blue laces in case I wanted to swap out the green ones. My only feedback would be to make the shoelaces longer. I use the extra eyelets as a lace lock and an extra inch or two length would be helpful.

I have been wearing these shoes at work, in the gym and going out on the town. They actually make me feel grounded, being a neutral shoe. I have had comments such as; I look taller and also more athletic. They have been such a confidence builder for me that it has made my gym buddies a little jealous of me. Being an older gentlemen, females seem to have little interest in me and normally would not even give me a second glance. With my Gel-Nimbus, that has all changed. The shoes have highlighted my calves and I have been receiving many compliments about how athletic they look now. I have even been approached by other younger males in the gym wanting to know my secret for those athletic calves; I simply respond-Gel-Nimbus! It has been a win/win situation all over; I ... I have been wearing Asics since High school and I'm 44 now. I have stopped using Asics since the Nimbus 18. Everything has changed about your shoes since the 18. I'm a 4E 10.5 shoe and run pretty neutral, so the only options for me is the Nimbus or the Cumulus.I have tried and returned every Nimbus and Cumulus every year since.I would expect allot more from Asics, especially when these are your top of the line running shoes. One other reason I would not buy this shoe, is the lack of color options on a 4E size.Bring out some lighter colors options instead of black or dark colors. I can't stand wearing black shoes, I live in Miami, Florida and it's hot most of the time. Try wearing black shoes in August when it's 98 degrees with 95% humidity. The dark colors ... You guys need more options.Until you guys come out with a better fitting shoe that true to size and with, I'm sticking with my Brooks Ghost 11/12.
I've owned a number of pairs of the Nimbus lineup, simply because of the comfort- but specifically for the supination correction that's inherent to the shoe design. This shoe is excellent- especially now, since I injured my Achilles tendon (now have tendinitis...great) and thankfully, with the heel to toe drop, the show alleviates the stress on the tendon for healing.I will only add that- with the supination correction that the shoe provides, the designers/engineers of the product should allow this correction to follow through the entire shoe, all the way to to the forefront of the foot. When walking in the shoe, it feels like the distal part of the foot kind of leans over to the distal side- meaning that there is a lack of support there too (just minimal support ... I wear an 11 shoe and the sock runs a tad bit large, so get the L (not XL) if your size 11ish or the rear of sock will be dandling a bit on your heel)
Returning back to running after a stress fracture, and stumbled upon the Gel Nimbus 21 by change whilst scouting through the sports shops. Prior to fracture I was a Newton user but due to stock availability issues in the UAE my only option was buying a pair online. Have had bad bad experiences buying running shoes online in the past -quality & sizing hence had to rule out that possibility. I was looking for a comfortable, light & well cushioned shoe and the moment I tried the Gel Nimbus 21 it fulfilled all of the criteria. Brought them in the morning and took them for a 10K run by noon and what a run that was, I settled into my rhythm after 5K and could have gone longer. One of the best running shoes that I have been fortunate enough to try. I look forward to clocking the kms in comfort. As one reviewer rightly mentioned "everyone should have a pair of the Gel Nimbus 21"
I'm 185-190 lbs runner with a neutral stride. I've been running for 40 years and know what I like in shoes. I used to run in Asics GEL-Nimbus 12, 13, 14, 15, 16 and then moved on as the later generations became progressively clunky, heavier, and more a rear heel striker shoe.Despite the less than stellar reviews for the GEL-Nimbus 21, I thought I would give them a try as I was tiring of the Adidas Ultra PowerBoost line of shoes I had been running in for the last few years. I'm glad I tried these out and will order several more pairs to hoard as I usually do when I find "keepers".I like that the shoe has returned to a lighter feel and while they still provide ample cushioning, they don't feel overly cushy, provide a smidgen of road feel and support (unlike the ... Admittedly I do run with aftermarket insoles, but I do that with all my shoes. For me these shoes just feel right and bring back the feel that I recall from the earlier Nimbus line.
Have used ASICS for about 10 years. The Nimbus used to be a top of the line shoe for supinators / underpronators like myself. The cushioning and wide toebox made for a perfect shoe. I have picked these up and right out of the box noticed a difference. It's immediately heavier and appears clunkier. I took it out for a 3 mile tempo and I had to turn around at mile 1 due to severe pain in my arch and metatarsals. Why? The toebox seems to be much more narrow, the shoe is not a cushion shoe, and honestly feels less like a neutral shoe and more along the lines of a racing flat in cushion, motion control in terms of appearance, and just overall not what it used to be. If only they went back to how it was in the Nimbus 13-17 series, that would be perfect. I had switched to ... MoreHave used ASICS for about 10 years. I had switched to Solar Boost by the way and now have no problems, and these shoes are my over 100 dollar lawn/work shoes now. An absoloute waste of money and utterly disappointing at the lack of cushion and immense change .
some basic stats:-6', 200#, decidedly Clydesdale class-wide feet-bit of a supination impactlove these shoes for my big wide platypus feet and slightly supine heel bias. I'm pretty heavy for a runner, but these have always held up admirably for 5-600km anyway. I've owned a few pairs of Nimbus, but this is my first pair of the 4E size, and it's a real treat not having a bunch of shoe sticking out past the end of my toes. The length and width are perfect. I don't have to think about the shoes at all, just about the running. They feel lighter because of the perfect fit, even though they're almost exactly the same weight as the regular D width. Asics calls this a 'neutral' shoe, but I find them reassuringly stable, even over lumpy surfaces or a less than perfect ...
