You can tell the Clay shoes apart from other shows because they have a herringbone pattern on the bottom of the shoe. ASICS order desk, do better! It’s your shoes! I had to have a second party explain this to me. Your order desk needs training.

Following a great deal of research, due to the fact that I suffer considerable bilateral metatrsalgia (a painful condition affecting the ball of the foot) I settled on the Gel-Resolution 8 shoe. What a great decision! The shoe has proved everything and more that I could have wished for in allowing me to play tennis in comfort. I would recommend these shoes to anyone suffering from this condition.

Great snug fit even for my wide feet. I have metatarsal pain, these shoes hug my feet and do not let them move around much which feels great. Also the tread pattern gives excellent traction.

I’m not one to purchase and return things. So I did a lot of research and I decided on these Bc I’m an avid pickleball player and needed a good grip. The grip was great but the over all comfort gets nothing. The tongue is sewed to the line of the shoe. There are four spots to two bilateral area where friction from material causes me irritation. I’m disappointed Bc I was hoping to buy more of these shoes if it was comfortable.
I have tried about every tennis shoe under the sun looking for the perfect blend of performance, durability, stability, cushioning, breathability, mobility, and traction. This shoe checks all the boxes! In particular, I happen to love the locked-in fee provided by the Asics Dynawrap technology which pulls the upper securely around the foot as the laces are cinched. My feet a securely held in place as a move in all direction with this new "lace strap" in the forefoot. As always, The Gel Res is solid and comfortable with improved ventilation and fit over the last version. Bravo Asics!
Maybe I ordered the wrong size, but the bottom of the nail bed of my right big toe is scraping against the top of the shoe. The footbed seems unusually shallow compared to earlier versions of the Gel Res 8. I switched to KSwiss during the pandemic because I could not find any ASICS, which are by far the best and my most favorite tennis shoe. I always wore them until I couldn’t find them. So when I saw these for sale recently, I pounced!!! And am really disappointed.Also, I dislike the tongue of the shoe — it’s sewn in and doesn’t move. Sorry.
So far very pleased with everything about the tennis shoes. Actually the best pair that I have worn from this model for possibly ten years. Comfortable, easy to tie and effective on the clay courts. Have narrow feet and these fit just right and are easy to adjust with shoe laces.

I noticed the style started getting more narrow over time--the 7 was very narrow but offered quite a bit of stretch after playing so it was acceptable. This Resolution 8, however, was a big failure, owing largely to the ribbon in the laces which keeps the shoe narrow with zero stretch. Cannot believe this design flaw was allowed to pass through the many board meetings I'm sure were needed to approve this iteration. Message to Asics: immediately start releasing a modified version without the ribbon and normal lacing holes (i.e. lose the slit-like ribbon hole and replace it with a normal one). Used it for a good month. To start... I play Padel and use the Clay version. Was happy to hear about the wider size and it is on this Resolution 8. Used prior the Asics Lima GEL that was a bit tight but good. The new mesh releases by far much more humidity and they dry much faster. So much better. Thank you. Lacing is strong but lacking a bit flexability. Very easy to tighten too hard and been most often haveing to stop to tighten the lower part and spending quite some time on balancing the strings so that it fits. But once it does its a great shoe. Love to see the new lacing system remade a bit longer. It is much easier to tighten but needs to be slightly evolved to be able to tighten better the lower parts without pressuring the midpoint too much. Love to see next ... MoreUsed it for a good month.
