(665 reviews)

The GEL-RESOLUTION 8 tennis shoe promotes a responsive stride with a close-to-the-court feel. The FLEXION FIT upper provides form-fitting support with the integration of DYNAWALL technology, which offers added midfoot stability during lateral movements and coast-to-coast coverage. Implementing a torque control feature in the heel counter, this shoe is also designed to help maintain a locked in feel during quick transitions. Featuring GEL technology cushioning in the heel and midfoot, this shoe helps reduce the impact of shock from abrupt stop and go movements on court. Additionally, the model also incorporates an AHAR compound in the outsole that works in conjunction with the PGUARD toe protector to increase traction on court and reduce the overall level of wear. Creating an accelerated response with a natural close-to-the-ground feel, the GEL-RESOLUTION 8 tennis shoe helps you approach your matches with confidence.

Really really regret buying these. Asics tennis shoes have always fit me perfectly in the past but these are much longer than previous ones I've had and way too narrow. Cannot wear for more than 10 minutes without developing pain from the pressure on either side of my feet. Not sure who would have the feet to fit inside of these.

Another Disappointing Version of the GEL-Resolution

Pulling the laces tight will not get the plastic to totally conform to the foot so ASICS put a non-adjustable elastic strip in the lace area attempting to band-aid the problem. It doesn’t really help but it does make putting on the shoe a bit more difficult. The full plastic upper, aside from looking cheap, does not allow for ventilation. The shoe plays hot, my feet were sweating much more than normal and after two days I started getting blisters on my toes. ASICS claims that they added a torque control feature in the heel to provide a locked in feel. I am not sure what it is doing but my ankle and achilles are sore after two days of playing in the shoe. I was hoping that ASICS would get back on track with the GEL-Resolution 8, but instead, I believe that they have continued to degrade what was the best shoe on the market. Time to look at other brands.

First legit pair of shoes since 2018 barricades - Next best thing

My old pair of barricades finally gave out I started researching what was the best in the market in 2020 - Gel Res 8 was mentioned everywhereThese are some of the most comfortable shoes out there. I have fairly wide feet and found these broke in quite well. Definitely thought they were too narrow at first, but it took maybe 2-3 hrs of play to break in.Currently playing in the Nike Court Zoom Vapor Cage 4 - these kind of hurt my feet from being too narrow. So I recommend the Gel Res 8 over those if you have wider feet.I really like stable shoes and felt solid pivoting in these. Highly recommend if you were ever a fan of the Barricades

Gel Resolution 8
28 October 2022

I have worn Gel Resolution shoes for approximately 15 years and have been very happy with each generation of the GR shoe. That is until I purchased the GR8s. The inflexible strap integrated into the laces caused severe pain on the top of my feet. I tried to return, but since I had worn, no such luck. Knowing I couldn't return and the GR8s that caused pain, I did some surgery on my shoes and removed the straps. They are now comfortable shoes, but this will be the last pair of Asics I purchase unless future versions don't have the strap.

Good shoe but poor fit for my curved foot...
27 September 2022

Normally play in Adidas shoes but wanted to give these highly-rated Asics Gel Res 8's a try. Shoe shape is very long and straight...didn't fit my curved foot very well and caused me to overpronate quite a bit. Cushioning felt good but could see compression to the midsole happening pretty quickly. Outer stability was great and weight felt fine. Traction was also fine. Overall a good shoe but only if your foot is the right shape.

Good shoes, disappointing customer experience
23 September 2022

What a disappointing customer experience! I got two different ASICS models I liked in two different sizes. After trying them on at home and playing with a size I thought fits best, it turned out they run big. I immediately contacted Returns department asking if I can return the shoes for a size smaller. I provided photos of the shoes which were in perfect condition and explained I played in them for 30 minutes. However they came back offering a partial refund, which I didn’t expect from such a reputable retailer. Safe to say I will buying my tennis equipment elsewhere!!

I'm thankful for this shoe model
7 September 2021

I'm very thankful for this shoe model. There are so few wide options available when shopping for quality court shoes. I was struggling when Asics didn't make a wide version of their Gel-Res 7 model and ran holes into my last pair of Gel-Res 6 until the Gel-Res 8 Wide was released. I have three pair in reserves now just in case Asics does something stupid like not making a wide version of the Gel-Res 9, whenever it comes out. Hopefully they do though. Thanks, Asics.

Not bad but not amazing. .
14 November 2022

Right off the bat, the toe box is made with some type of material that has a slight “pop” (at least on my right foot. The next issue is more personal, the heel box had too much support for a tennis shoe. Hopefully, none of that happens to your purchase because they are beautiful shoes (the blue). I ended up sending them back and got my money back to spend on a pair of On.

Uncomfortable shoe
23 September 2022

I purchased the wide version of this shoe but discovered the sizing was more of a medium. The fit was tight and uncomfortable. The upper is constructed entirely of plastic and does not vent well causing foot temperature to rise uncomfortably. After one wearing, I have donated the shoes to a charity.

great support

special purchase for me. never buy shoes online. i have a wide foot. got the wide. fit great. love these: structure, support and comfort. feet are no longer tired after playing. always play pickle or tennis for at least two hrs…dont even need the extra thin sock layer. not sure what a 5-star would be. Maybe cooler looking.
