These shoes are awesome! I do 7 miles before work 3-4 days a week and 15+ on the weekend on varies terrain from road to slippery steep trails. The tread is super sticky. I have ultra wide feet and all I do is order one size up and they fit perfect. I have tried several different brands of trainers and the road always brings me back to ASICS. I'm a customer for life.

ASIC manufacture a well constructed, very grippy trail shoe ideal for slippery coastal sandstone training sessions and single tracks. The lug's are exceptionally grippy without shelling out considerably more cash to achieve the same result from more expensive competitors. By way of criticism, IMO the heal to toe drop in these modern trail trainers is universally too aggressive. IMO a heal drop of greater than about 10mm promotes ankle rolls and twists especially on rocky terrain. However, if high milage is your thing, the support and cushioning is exceptional.

I have worn the Sonoma model for a while now. This one seems to be about the same as the Sonoma 6. It has a big enough box but doesn't look like clown shoes. Very comfortable for me: 6', 175lbs, size 11, neutral pronation, medium high arches. Wear on the 6 was about average. Don't know yet on the 7. I use almost exclusively for daily street wear and trail hiking. Not running.
I run every 2 days and this is my 4th pair of Sonomas. New shoes are great to show you how worn the old ones are. I have come to the realisation that I need to replace them every 12 months or less as they wear out with frequent use. These are a very comfortable shoe out of the box and great neutral shoes. Definitely feel the difference with the new shoes.
So happy with these shoes! For the last year or so I have been discouraged with the Asics I have purchased. After buying multiple models I could not find one that did not hurt my feet...until these. I read a few 5 star reviews I thought I would give them a try. I was very impressed and was happy I bought two pairs. They fit great at the get-go. I will definitely be purchasing these again!
My first time buying this brand and I love them. I was told by so many people how good they were and I definitely agree. They are so light and comfortable. I have since purchased another pair. They are the best pair of shoes I’ve ever owned. I walk in them every day and I feel the difference between them and my previous pair. Definitely recommend them
I was a bit apprehensive buying trail shoes for the first time. So many brands, styles and fits. Asics seem to be up there on most running forums and the reviews on these were good, and seemed balanced, so I took a punt. Glad I did. They are very well made, light weight and extremely comfortable, yet supportive. No real running in required and I'm really enjoying running in them.
I go jogging / running on trails with a mix of rocky / grass forest trails and tracks. I usually go through a pair of trainers every 9 months or so as I am out every day. I have only had these a week hence the 4 star rating as I can't comment on their durability.However, they are a good fit and are wide in the toe area where I usually find trainers are tight. The sole is comfortable on gravel/rocky trails and the uppers seem well made. Nice and comfortable. Paid what I thought was a reasonable price.
