I've got about 120 miles on these shoes (all mud, loose and packed dirt trail). Grip is excellent in all conditions, especially on down hill. So far they are showing very little wear on the tread (i'm a slight heel striker) and the uppers are holding up well. Great cushion, but they still feel "accurate" -- not too mushy to where you feel like you don't have full control and "feel" of the trail. Stable, comfortable and cool. This is my second pair of Gel-Trabuco's (I had the Trabuco 11s previously). Before that I was running the GT-2000 trail shoes. They were a hair lighter and equal on comfort/stability, but the glued-on pads on the tread peeled off too soon. The treads on the Trabucos are way tougher and more durable. Worth the very slightly heavier feel.

I ordered my usual size in this brand, but they were huge! Please check their shoe size chart. Once I got my correct size, I absolutely loved them! The blackberry/light blue color is beautiful, and they're super comfortable. Despite being heavier than my other sneakers, they don't tire me out, and provide excellent stability for trail walking.

Amazing experience with my Gel-Trabucos 12! I live near a mountain called Ymmitus in Athens,Greece. It is full of rocky, muddy trails and I get to explore every single one of them with my reliable Trabucos! Soft feel even in pointy rock terrain and really good grip on muddy and wet surfaces. Bought these after they were recommended by a foot specialist. I had my first ultra and my feet were painful and sore. I didn’t have time to break them in or get used to them so wore them straight out of the box. Absolutely amazing! Super comfortable, great colour way, reasonably priced and I didn’t get a single blister! They helped my feet no end and have worn them hiking since without any issue. Absolutely love them. Running in Gel Trabuco 12 feels great. They are very comfortable, and are very light on foot. Grip is very good, and protection on hard surfaces is adequate. Cusoning is another plus, since I usually run without socks. I dod not feel tired after 16km on trail 😀 Sincere recommendation for all trail runners - this shows is must-have
Just got these and after putting them on realize there is more cush than last years Trabuco 11These are going to be my favorite walking/hiking shoes this summer. Usually 4- 8 miles. I like shopping Asics online because I can order my size and it is a true fit everytime so easier than running to every store. Great on returns as well when I accidentally ordered the wrong size. Easy return fed ex label they provide and refund posted to my account quickly.
GEL-TRABUCO 12 are my favorites for trail running workouts, as well as for hiking in the mountains. They are also suitable for races on more technical terrains. They are light, comfortable, and very stable. They offer protection from rocks and roots, allowing you to traverse various terrains and conditions. The color is great and stands out. There is a special compartment for storing the laces to prevent them from coming undone. Absolutely love them!
I've only worn the last two generations of the Gel Trabuco (and the Gel Trabuco Max), and they are still my favourites. They're light but substantial. A great balance between cushioning and being able to feel the terrain under your feet. I took these straight out of the box, and onto a 15-mile trail race. They were perfect. No issues, pain or rubbing. Can't recommend enough.
I love these shoes. Color is exactly as pictured. These are lightweight with great traction on sole. They are slightly longer than my normal size 8 with this brand so if your btwn sizes maybe size down. ( seems almost 1/2 size longer)Toe bed has some stretch and is super comfy but still very stable. These have neutral arch support. Heel stable in cup. Very comfortable shoe and has held up well
Out of the box, took it out for a 15k run on rough sandy/rocky desert terrain and it didn't disappoint at all! My first pair of trail shoes and I love it. It's very comfortable and quite stiff compared to the road running shoes I'm used to wearing (Meta speed and Nova blast) but I don't mind it here at all because I feel safe running on rocks. It has fantastic grip going up and down hills. Highly recommend it for this terrain. I never buy shoes true to my size. I usually wear 38 but running shoes 40 for extra room to avoid black toes.
