ASICS Great, Not Happy With Shipment
I would’ve given 5 stars. The sneaker was everything I expected from ASICS but I’m disappointed that it was obviously returned and then sent to me. I usually buy ASICS directly from them but wanted to use rewards. The sole was dirty and the sneakers were not packaged like a new product. I bought these for a trip and decided to keep them because other than the sole they didn’t seem dirty inside and I have no time to return for a different pair. This isn’t the first time with an experience like this. I’m getting skeptical of buying online and this happening again. I get that shoes are returned but if DSW is sending them out to another customer, make sure they are cleaned and repackaged professionally.... Show more

Bearable
I am a go to Asics buyer when it comes to sneakers. I loved the Gel Contend 6 which fit my foot well with lots of support and cushion. But because I walk 6-7 miles a day outside the Gel Contend 6 did not hold up. I decided to try the Gel-Venture 9 do to it having more tread on the bottom. In the first week of wearing them on my 6-7 mile quest I found that they were not as cushioned as the Gel Contend 6 and actually was causing my shins to hurt and my feet to ache. I have inflammatory arthritis in my right knee so this definitely did not help in that department either. I noticed if I lace and tie them loosely they are more bearable. Unfortunately, I could not not return them do to wearing them outside. I guess I have track down my old lovable Gel Contend 6, as I ... MoreI am a go to Asics buyer when it comes to sneakers. I guess I have track down my old lovable Gel Contend 6, as I don't think they make that version anymore, and just replace once the tread starts to go. But I can say that if you are not intending on wearing these shoes for a consistent walking stretch such as I do then they will probably do the job as a daily shoe (i.e. running errands, short walks, etc.)... Disappointing
I'm a tried true Asics fan and I'm really disappointed in these and more disappointed as a valued customer nothing is being done because I wore them outside a couple times. $60 down the drain. I have ASICS with lots of miles that are years old that feel better. If I didn't know any better I would think there is some kind of defect but nothing is visible. My feet are still hurting 2 days later after wearing a couple times around the block. It doesn't make much sense to me given all of the great reviews. They seemed fine wearing around the house so I wore them on a walk. I thought maybe they needed breaking in because the fit was great. I'm not sure how anyone can run in these. If you purchase just make sure you wear them indoors for a while so you can return. I'm ... Fantastic Comfortable and Nice
Perfect! I usually only buy shoes in stores, because I'm worried that there will be some problem with them, they will be too small or too big, they will squeeze or break my heels and fingers if I don't try them on before buying. However, I found either no Asics shoes at all or only a very small selection in the surrounding shops. Unfortunately, I didn't like what there were either. Either they were too colorful, or the soles extended too far back at the heel, etc... Finally, I found three pairs, which I really liked on the Asics webshop, so I ordered one pair of them. When they arrived and I tried them on, it was like Cinderella's glass shoes in the fairy tale. They were fantastic comfortable, so I ordered the other two pairs as well. I love them!... Show more

Hit the trails with confidence
Big fan of Asics, this is now the 4th pair I've owned. The Gel Venture 9s are great so far. I use them on roads, forested trails, grass and stony paths. They are 'no nonsense' trail shoes designed for most situations. I like the wide footprint, grippy rubber and of course the springy cushioning thanks to that legendary Asics gel in the heel part. They fit well and breathability is reasonably good. They also keep out light rain and the plastic front trim stops wet grass turning into soggy socks, although I guess it could extend back further over the toes. Nevertheless when wet, they dry quickly which is the mark of a good trail shoe. I have changed the insole to something more substantial ( personal taste ) and used different laces to get a better lockdown. I expect ... MoreBig fan of Asics, this is now the 4th pair I've owned. In summary: I love Asics gel technology for superior heel cushioning and have to come to really respect their durability.... Show more

Meh
To start, the color choices for the Gel-Venture 9 are hideous. Ugly & boring. Then there's the laces. The sneaker has one less pair of holes than the previous Gel-Venture's & the laces are ridiculously long. Even after changing the laces to a shorter pair, they are still too long & unsafe. They also fit much larger. Not a fan of this version at all. This pair was no charge due to a replacement for a defective pair, or I would have returned them.(I have been buying 4-7 pairs of Asics, exclusively, per year, for over 20 years. This was the first time I ever had a pair fall apart on me. Quality is going downhill.)... Show more

Not wide shoe AT ALL!!!!
I’m very unsatisfied with my purchase of these shoes. I searched and searched online for days for some new work shoes and decided to go with these. I’m very upset because I had high hopes and now wish I had went with something different. These were listed as WIDE WIDTH shoes and they are not at all. These are so narrow that even if I bought inserts, they might not even fit. I was hoping to not even have to buy separate inserts but these are so uncomfortable that I might have to. I only work 7 hour shifts and my feet are aching so bad by the time I get off. When I wear my sketcher slips ons my feet are barely in pain at all. I only wore these a couple times and wish I could return them but can’t. Please if you need wide shoes, DO NOT buy these.... Show more

OK with some modification
I use these for hiking and backpacking so I size up one full size to allow for thicker socks, foot swelling, and downhill slopes. The insoles are cushy but completely flat so I took them out and replaced with better ones that have more arch support. One thing these did not have over previous trail runners that I've worn is they don't have the 2nd lacing hole at the top so they can be cross-laced to prevent my foot from sliding forward on downhills. Fortunately I have a leather punch and there was enough space to add a 2nd hole. Then I had to buy longer laces. When all the modifications were done, I had a great hiking shoe. I add ankle gaiters when I hike to keep trail debris out.... Show more

Really poor Asics!
I bought these trainers in August. This was my first pair of Asics to add to my Brooks road running shoes for more grip when running along cycle paths and an old railway line coming into Autumn and Winter. I wanted to wait a few months to write a review to see they held up.They are such poor quality and ready for the bin within 2 months. I use a shoe horn and untie them everysingle time to put them because I hate ruining the backs of shoes and the backs have already worn away.If your hoping for any sort of weatherproofness from these then do not opt for these shoes. Running or walking along a cycle path thats wet but no puddles my feet are soaking and it feels like it comes from under my toes. Absolute waste of money and I have been put off Asics shoes.... super comfortable
I bought these shoes overseas as we were walking/hiking between 7-10 miles a day sightseeing, and I needed a break from my other shoes. I have worn Asics for the last 25 years, and these are by far my most comfortable model so far. The toe box seems more roomy than in previous models, which is perfect for my wide feet. The cushioning feels great and worked even for days with mainly concrete walking. The shoes are very lightweight, which I first thought made them " feel" a little cheap, but - even after three weeks and 150 miles, these shoes still look brand new with no wear to the sole or surface material ... These are by far my most comfortable trail runners so far and I own only " super cushioned" runners from several large brands . They will be my go to shoes ... During the entire vacaton and many, many miles through cities my back , legs and feet were not hurting which is a small miracle for someone with arthritis and back issues ... These run true to size for me.... Show more
