Better than my shoes
I have had a pair of ASIC's shoes for the gym , which have lasted for 9 ears . This prompted me to buy a newer pair , which are excellent for my old feet. (86 years), so I have purchased these for just walking around in. This has proved their worth . I feel somewhat rejuvenated and at the end of the day , not as tired as usual. In short , best deal I have made in a long while.... Show more

Good but not great
Not the best for those with a high arch, the pace plates do not cover the tongue leaving the foot visible on either side of the tongue. My feet supinate and after a few weeks of wearing these I find the hee/solel not broad enough and the "neutral" design failing so my feet are starting to roll. out.Apart from these two factors the 4E width is ok and the shoes are well made.... Great for exercise walking and everyday wear
I bought leather upper. Used for daily exercise walks. Previously had cloth upper, which was a softer feel but wears through at toes. Leather will soften and be better in the rain. Will buy another pair with cloth upper and mix use. Overall very happy with choice especially the wide fit and consistently first class quality.... Show more

Great upper construct
I bought this few weeks back online directly from ASICS. Order processing and delivery were absolutely fabulous. I am a ASICS Gel Kayano fan but this time I needed a shoe with leather upper for office ware as I do quite a bit of walk and have Achilles issues, hence chose GT1000.From a comfort standpoint to wear longer, I was not satisfied with its heel cushioning and support. May be I have chosen a wrong model as there are many models and it confuses the customer to choose right one. Later I bought a Gel Kayano wide from factory outlet at Olympic park and was able to try out and pick the right one. ASICS should stick to fewer models or clearly call out the use cases for each models for those who purchase online.... Show more

Great walking shoes
I walk over 6000 klms a year on average and have been using the GT1000’s for several years now. That are an excellent shoe and I have already bought my next pair for when my current ones wear out. Because they are leather they are a tad warm in summer but because your toes don’t eventually wear through the top (as-on material ones) I will put up with the warmth on hot summer daysGreat shoe... Most Comfortable Leather-Like Neat-Casual Shoes
I purchased the GT-1000 black leather shoes to wear as neat casual attire, providing a step up from wearing running shoes. They have been the most comfortable walking shoes I have ever owned. I hope Asics continues to produce faux leather shoes to cater to this market. I would prefer if the Asics stripes on the sides were less prominent, but despite this, I will definitely keep buying these shoes and any updated versions. In conclusion, if you are looking for a very comfortable, slightly dressier pair of neat-casual shoes, I wholeheartedly recommend these. neat-casual shoes. I recommend these without hesitation.... Show more

Running shoe's comfort in business look-alike
This is as comfortable as any other ASICS sports shoe. I usually use pronation supporting, extra wide ASICS shoes for running. I was looking for similar shoe with black leather for commuting and office-wear. This was a perfect choice which I landed in. This is light, supporting and provides same comfort as GT-2000 running shoes.... Show more

Something went wrong with the size
ASICS stopped selling the 550TR in leather for adults. The new product the GT1000 appeared similar. I need leather for durability. The shoe gave me trouble from the start it seemed too short. I hit a US 12 1/2. I thought my foot must be slipping forward so I used the runner loop in the laces. This didn’t help but I persisted hoping it would break in and come right. But my toes were being crushed nails polishing and shocks abrading. Unfortunately I had to return to the almost worn out 550’s. As part of the process I switched the insoles. It was then that I found the old 550 insoles did not fit in the new 1000 shoes without buckling. The size difference is small but significant. The shoe is made well other than it being the wrong size.... Show more

Unbelievably comfortable
I haven't had these long but they are unbelievably comfortable - a step up from previous Asics shoes I have worn. I love the colour as well - I went the Sheet rock / restful teal ones. My previous Asics shoes have all lasted a long time, so I am happy to recommend them. My daughter also wears GT-1000's and she loves them!... Show more

Well made comfortable shoe - hope manufacturing quality is there for lifecycle.
I have been a big fan of ASICs for years - some of which have lasted literally decades.I have wanted a black pair for ages.So bought two pairs of these (one each for hubby and wife).Super comfortable and seem to be well made. However, am hoping they do better than my hubby's most recent white pair - F911015 / Gel 190TP / Size43.5 - where the soles became rock hard and lost all their ability to flex or grip. Clearly a manufacturing flaw. The shoe leather uppers and interiors are still in great condition so this was a real disappointment. My most recent white pair F461019 / GT 1000 LE / Size 42 - the front end of the sole that wraps up to the left toe, has started to unstick on the left foot, despite mostly indoor use. The sole is still in good condition (no ...
