The GT-2000 has been a staple in ASICS's line-up for nearly three decades and is still a pillar in the support category whether you're training for your next Boston qualifier or walking the dog in the park.  Lighter than ever due to a new one-piece upper with a softer mesh and removed sewn overlays while keeping the support atop and underneath the foot you've come to know and love about the model.  Look no further if you need a shoe to take you the distance in ultimate comfort and stability!

I have never worn Asics because they fit narrow so when I saw they made D width I ordered the wide. Despite looking narrow, they didn't hurt my bunion because the material is forgiving. BUT they squeeze the outside of my foot so it aches. I even wore thin socks and tied the laces as loose as possible. I tried walking in them with a different insole but then the heal slipped because it's not very high. Second complaint - although they are light they make an audible slapping noise when I run as if I'm running flat footed and not rolling enough (that has never happened with my previous running shoes).

For the price they are a good reliable running shoe. I’ve recently taken my running from once a week to almost every day with the hopes of training for my first half marathon. Although these ASICS aren’t the top of the line and most cushioning for a runner I think they have been my perfect upgrade from a basic shoe and decent Al round for someone just starting out. Comfy and look good too.

I have been wearing these same shoes, same size, for many years and was happy. This last pair, will be the last as they are not close to the same shoe in support or quality. The toe box is different, and the material is extremely thin. I bought the last pair on line, and with less than 350 k, both shoes have sizable holes that have worn through the top of each shoe, by my big toe. I have a closet full of old pairs that the sole is worn and broken down, but the top looks almost perfect. I should mention i am not doing any hillwork as havent been training for anything specific. Thank goodness, can't imagine what hill work would have done to them.

I have narrow feet and was looking for a shoe that would hold my narrow heels in when walking / running. These shoes provide the perfect amount of support for me when running and are extremely comfortable right out of the box.I did notice my socks started wearing out much faster than normal in the upper heel shortly after I started using them. I am usually able to use my shoes for well over a year before they start wearing out. These did not wear out in the usual way. After about 8 months of low mileage running the inner material by the upper heels has started to disintegrate. I expect to get more usage out of my shoes and prefer my shoes not to wear out my socks. They are still the most comfortable shoe I could find after trying many, however. I just wish Asics ... MoreI have narrow feet and was looking for a shoe that would hold my narrow heels in when walking / running. My individual experience: I wanted a 12.5 medium women's GT2000 9 but that size was sold out. I ordered GT2000 9 12 and it was small. After talking with customer care, I ordered GT2000 10 in 13 wide. What arrived fit loose, baggy and longer than version 9. You can see in the photos that there is too much fabric, like when I raise my toes, there is still loose fabric (the shoe doesn't move with your stride). It fits over 2 finger widths too long. Asics accepted the return, but won't refund the original form of payment. It fits so radically different than the version 8 and 9 that you would think exchanges would be allowed. The product is unwearable. I will email customer service a picture. The product: Order one size down. Bulky sole. No plastic pronation support.
I'm 55 and run daily with narrow feet and pronounced over-pronation -- ASICS protect my knees and are always available in size narrow. I've had no pain since I started wearing them 15 years ago. This pair is both comfortable and stylish. I had some mid-foot pain the first day of breaking them in, which hasn't happened with other ASICS, but I am very pleased so far and highly recommend the brand and the GT-2000.
Got these in an attempt to find the perfect running shoe as I recently started long distance running. They aren't anything amazing but also not bad. They do sit much lower than my preference: Adidas Solarglides & Solarboosts. However, they are extremely lightweight & are perfect for track or "soft" running. If you are bother by the infamous adidas ankle rub, these are your shoes. Also, they are true to size and medium width with enough room in toebox to wiggle and even slightly "stretch" your toes.
I'm surprised to see quite a few negative reviews. I have these Asics in the black/hot pink but purchased on Amazon since REI didn't carry them when I ordered them a number of months ago. They are like walking on a cloud! I have 2 pairs--the others are baby blue/coral and I wouldn't recommend a lighter color,.since eventually they'll look dirty. I love these because if you're out running or walking, the color is such that it totally hides dirt and they continue to look like new for quite a while. I've been wearing mine for about 4 months and they still look brand new. They are a dream to walk in! I HOPE Asics continues to make this style.
I took my daughter to the store to get fitted with shoes and custom inserts. She plays sports and has ankle issues. After 3 months, these were starting to fall apart, so I figured it was from daily wear. Ordered another pair so she would have a fresh pair for the new sports season. Not even 3 weeks in and they started falling apart. Just like the older ones. We are talking flaps of material coming apart on the bottom of the shoe. How is that even safe?!? So frustrated!!! I will never buy another pair of ASICS!
This is my new go-to gym and running shoe. Firm underfoot but with just enough cushioning to protect my feet while not being so cushioned that stability starts to become an issue. Good all rounder for lifting to running. I have a wide foot with an high instep and the regular fitting fits well for me. I also love the comfortable heel counter that doesn’t run in my usual trouble spots. I’ll be buying other colours in the model.
