Fantastic Updates to a Fantastic Shoe
I have been running in the GT-2000 series exclusively since 2015. I pretty much stopped running for the past couple years, but picked it up again about 6 months ago with a new pair of GT-2000 10s. Dealt with some nagging shin issues, and I thought I may have started back too fast so I tried taking a break and coming back very slowly but the same thing happened. Then I thought maybe it was the shoes, and maybe I just needed something with more cushion now. So I went to my local running store to try out a bunch of different shoes and WOW, the GT-2000 has certainly changed. The 12 immediately felt much more cushioned than the 10, but still felt light, and the stability features are much more natural-feeling. I never would've thought that I would want a big change to a shoe I had been so loyal to for so long, but the updates have made them even more comfortable and more fun to run in. I've only taken them on a couple runs so far, but they felt great on both an easy run and a tempo run, and my shin issues were non-existent on both. Big fan of the GT-2000 12 and the updates they made.... Show more

Good pair of shoes
I got this to support my fitness goals of weekly walk/runs at my local park. I've tested on both road and train (not rought terrain) and the shoe performs well in both. For:It provides ample cushioning, soft bounce and stability for Running. It's also easy to clean and I could tell the difference in my landings and how my pronation was corrected just by walking in this. There's ample arch support, but it took some getting used to for me, because my left foot hurt on the outside for a bit and then got better.Against:It's quite narrow at the mid section. I figured it had something to do with the stability built into it. So it felt tight on one foot and just okay on the other. It's nothing that a bit of loosening the shoe strings won't fix.Overall it's a good ... MoreI got this to support my fitness goals of weekly walk/runs at my local park. I love these shoes BUUUT…….
I recently had a rod put in my leg from having bone cancer. My therapist recommended these shoes to me to aid in balance and stability. I love these shoes. However what I don’t like is that for some reason the toe on my right foot wears out quickly. I don’t have long toenails or big toes but for whatever reason it always seems to wear out and a hole develops. I started gluing a patch on the inside to help in the west and tear. Other than that I love these shoes. ASICS has replaced them but it’s annoying because I never have this issue with any other shoe or sneakers I’ve purchased except these. I give 5 stars for stability and 3 for them wearing out. So I left something in the middle with 4 stars.... Show more

Im not a boomer but after that rant I feel like it
The shoes were horribly on the small side. Uncomfortable isn’t even really a way to describe the shoes. I’m not sure what these new shoe companies that are popping up are trying to achieve but it just doesn’t seem possible with our current means on this planet. Most new shoes are horribly uncomfortable, or are built for specific situations that don’t apply to all people. Whatever happened to good, old, reliable, tennis shoes? Unfortunately, those days are gone and you’re stuck trying to navigate the mass of ‘fancy’ Tennis shoes, Running shoes, Training shoes, etc. etc. etc. Bring back a comfortable shoe for less than $100. We don’t want all the other pizazz.... Show more

New design sucks
I've been wearing this shoe model and running 5 miles 4 times per week for years and it's been great. Now they've changed the design and I have instant back, knee, and shin pain. The heel is too thick or high and the shoe forces you to fall forward. I also have foot arch pain due to lack of arch support. They won't accept a return without a label attached?!! How can I test them with a label on? The outcome? Not shopping with Asics again, after years as a loyal customer. Very disappointing for $110, and now I have to find another pair and pay again with a different maker. Sucks.... Show more

Not Good
I received these shoes as a gift for Christmas, been wearing the same style and size for the last 8 years and never had an issue, they have been excellent shoes and don't usually even need to wear them in. I was recommended this model for my feet, due to arthritis and swelling by the shoe clinic. I am extremely disappointed with them, they don’t feel like the same model at all, the support doesn’t seem to be there and they are to big on me even though they are the same size I order all the time. I have tried to persevere but to no joy, only worn them twice. At $270.00 at pop, not cheap to not have the runners that you can't wear. Complained to Asics however that just referred me back to rebel as that's where I bought them. No Joy with Rebel, went back to Asics, the ... Complained to Asics however that just referred me back to rebel as that's where I bought them. No Joy with Rebel, went back to Asics, the said that every time you get new runners you should get them professionally fitted by shoe clinic or shoe science. However after going in there, I was told I needed the exact shoe i bought and that they can't guarantee what they recommend is always going to be right. however they do offer a month in which you can return the shoe if it's not suitable and then donate them to charity. It's a shame Asics themselves don't stand by there product and offer the same return regardless where you buy them from. I did however out of goodwill get a 25% discount from them of a full price pair.... Show more

Passed My Test
A decade ago I probably would have avoided these based on the price tag alone. However, I was also able to try a size 12B on I a local store. I purchased the model "GT-2000 12" in a local store 3 days ago. They only look clunky. My priorities are my feet not sliding in them during body pump class, being able to maneuver without dragging my feet on the treadmill or road and having the necessary cushion, stability and support to walk in them pain free. They've passed the test with those requirements. The structural integrity issue others are unhappy with will be assessed over time.... Show more

Really Nice Shoes
The GT-2000 12 is a very lightweight and comfortable shoe. I ran in ASICS running shoes back in the 1990’s but haven’t had a pair since then. These shoes are comfortable right out of the box. I wear them as lifestyle shoes and for walking. The fit is good and that is saying something for me. I am normally a New Balance man and wear a size 13 2E or 14 D in many of their lifestyle and running shoes. I ordered the GT-2000 12 shoes in 14 D and they fit fine with enough room in the toe box. I haven’t worn them enough to comment on durability but they appear well made. Just placed an order for two more pairs!... Show more

The most comfortable trainer I've ever worn!
I loved the colours of this shoe as soon as I opened the box - they're described as 'blue expanse / champagne' but they are a deep sea blue with turquoise as a colour underneath and they have silver detailing. They're probably the prettiest shoes I own.I've worn GT2000 since I started running marathons years ago and I've stayed with them as they really suit me for all distances. This model of GT2000 (12) feel longer and more roomy than I’m used to but fit snugly and hold my foot in place. I get the impression the toe box is a bit longer than usual but my foot still didn't move when I ran in them and if anything they felt more comfortable than the previous model. (I'm wearing the right size! :))I ran in awful weather trying these out and they were rock solid even ... Really really pleased with them and they really are extremely comfy to run in and they're probably the comfiest trainers I own. ~I'll be relying on these to do a lot of miles with this year but I'm quite confident.... Tongue is rubbing my skin raw
I’ve used ASICS running shoes for years, and really do love them. I actually really like these shoes as well. One little problem…the tongue of the shoe, while soft and comfortable, lays just flat enough that it rubs my ankle when I run and wears my skin raw. I use socks that are just high enough that they show but are just short enough that the tongue touches my skin.I’ve had several versions of the GT-2000s and this is the first time this has happened. Still love the shoe though. I’ve resorted to putting a bandaid on that spot to prevent further rubbing.... Show more
