Horrible! Asics what have you done! I have boight kayanos for the last 16 years and can not believe how the quality dropped this low.. never again buying asics, you had quality and reliability now you charge the same amount for a much cheaper and lesser quality product... im a soze 15 and i struggle to find a show in my size especially having a narrow flat foot. Not only have you gone for a cheaper and horrible quality, you also have removed any and all arch and heel support you offered previously which is whh so many people including myself always went to the kayanos. Please asics go back to the way you were making the kayanos like the 29s and before.

I’ve been wearing Asics Kayanos for about 15+years. I have tried other styles and brands in between, however always come back to these for walking, running and aerobic workouts. So comfortable and supportive. And despite how chunky the heel appear on the 30’s, they actually look fantastic on. True to size.

Dear Asics: I've been wearing your gel-kayanos for many years - I have loved them and appreciated that my sneaker search was over when I found them. However, Asics is conforming to the rocker bottom shoes for reasons I can't understand. I simply can't wear these, they just hurt. If you want to make sneakers with a rocker bottom, please make a different pair, but please give us the gel-kayanos back! Thank you.

I’ll start with the positive. It’s a well constructed premium shoe . This is the reason for 3 stars. However, my issue is with the drastic change to the sole vs previous Kayanos. There is absolutely way to much stack in this shoe to run efficiently. I found myself fighting against the high stack foam . Beautiful shoe but I won’t be purchasing the 31 version due to this reason.
Great shoes. Cumulus, Nimbus, and Kayano lines have always been great but the last few years they’ve really stepped up the game. These Kayanos were perfect out of the box. I was a bit hesitant as they’ve gone the hoka route with the outsole but Asics clearly knows what they’re doing. No regrets at all. My only request is better color ways, women always get better options. This is where Nike, Hoka, NB, Brooks and the like are beating Asics. Style and appearance definitely plays a role.
I’ve worn Kayano’s for years. I have flat feet and flare ups of plantar fasciitis. The new design of the 30 is a real disappointment. Initially, they feel great. They have a lots of cushioning and I recently learned if you have a flat foot you should buy a wide shoe. I did that and thought I found the perfect shoe. But then I put some walking miles on them and noticed my midsoles were in a lot of pain. Then my heel pain started to flare up. And my arches were killing me. All of the arch support that were in previous versions is gone. I don’t think this whole ‘maximum cushioning’ trend is the greatest thing for people with flat feet. We need some cushioning, but we also need some support. I’m going to try Brooks adrenaline. I hope they work. My feet are killing me.
I was excited to find a shoe offered in my size (11.5 wide - women’s) but these were not a good shoe for me. I couldn’t even make it a mile into my first run with them before I had to give up and take them off. They were very uncomfortable. I have heard great things about this shoe from some of my friends that have them, but they just weren’t for me. I have never returned shoes to Fleet Feet before, but I had to for these.
Inner heel torn after 1 month of wear (they usually last 6 months) - no help from customer support, they said it was due to improper use and sizing. I have worn Asics for 10 years and have never had my shoes fall apart like they have the last month. I can no longer wear the shoes since they give me a blister on the back of the heel. Very disappointed in Asics customer support and durability of this newer Gel Kayano.
These shoes were so comfortable when I put them on. I walked and did some light jogging and they were so springy, I loved them but when I started doing distance in them, anything over a 2 mile run, they hurt! I did 3 5K runs where the balls of my feet felt like they were crushing into hard blocks at about the 2 mile marker. My fourth run in them, my ankle started to hurt and I decided these weren’t the shoes for distance running. They are super comfortable and springy, maybe perfect for the gym or walking but definitely not distance running.
The ASICS Kayano are great shoes for support and some cushion. The ASIC gel nimbus have less support but more cushion. I need a more cushioned shoes for my torn labrum. Will be getting the ASICS Nimbus. I recommend both shoes depending on if you need more support or more cushioning. I have enjoyed my ASICS for 8 years. I recommend these shoes to all runners!
