Yet they had better fit, quicker respons and somehow I felt they had a better energy transfer to the hole foot. Great stuff and highly recommended for long intervals, 5 and 10k races.

I have been wearing Gel Nimbus for a decade and decided to try something with a bit more cushioning. The Magic Speed certainly delivers that. A little disappointed in the quality of the upper shoe in comparison to the Gel Nimbus. It feels lightweight, which it's probably meant to be, but also flimsy.

I usually wear Air Max running shoes for extra bounce and comfort. I used Asics Gel shoes in the past they were perfect for my needs. This time I went for the name "Magic Speed" for my first ever Great Manchester 10K Run. for the 1st 5k it was perfect for me and I completed my target under 30 minute, it is very light weight and comfortable. But after 5K run its sole got very hot and uncomfortable for feet and my speed dropped and I fell short from keeping my pace and completed remaining 5K in 35 Minute with a great struggle.

I have always been a Nike zoomfly convert but recently tried these bad boys. Not bad at all. Very very light and great mid foot control. I tend to use these only for longer distance or races. Every day training is in the Asics gel 24. The one down side is that the tongue is very flimsy and so has curled over and rubbed on the top of my foot. you just need to make sure that is sorted before you speed off
I often struggle with running shoes as have wide and large volume feet. In the days of the super stack, super squidgy shoes this is a very welcomed shoe. I have the NB RC Elite v1 and have to say the Magic Speed out performs plus gives me a better fit, more stability when tiring in latter stages of a run. I've had no issues with slippage, hot spots or discomfort in any way. In terms of speed these shoes enabled me to run 0.1 to 0.3 km/min quicker, doesn't seem a lot but enabled me to chunk off 32 seconds off my 10km PB.. Great shoe, great value
These are my first carbon plate running shoe and I have, after only 100km of running in them, smashed my 5k and 10k PBS. They tend to rock you forward as you run, almost forcing you to drive through your forefoot which has definitely improved my running technique. These shoes are great for any distance and have been fantastic for distances up to 15km. They are definitely not for walking and I would not recommend buying these for that purpose, they are designed for speed and deliver that and some. The colours are also very nice and even better in person.
I ordered a pair as my ninth pair of Asics shoes, but this pair is small and tight, specifically the toe box is narrow. I should have ordered one size bigger.While walking, I feel the cushioning from the midfoot to the heel, but the forefoot is stiff. When jogging, it has a roll feeling like the Ride series. When running faster than 8 min/mile, I feel more response from the road thanks to the carbon plate.
I don't run fast enough to justify the Metaspeed Sky racing shoe, but this is a fabulous compromise. Very light, and the forefoot carbon plate gives it a real stiffness and bouncy return, that makes running slow difficult, and running fast much easier than it (perhaps) ought to be. And they look great too. Eyecatching. The fit is good, and the fabric lip around the heel provides a teeny bit more support structure. These are now my go-to shoe for any 5k-type distances, and even just to bounce down to the corner shop.

The tongue is minimal with a small padded section but is very comfortable. I found it takes some time to get it to sit on the foot in the correct position. I think a similarly minimal gusseted tongue would work better. The heel counter is minimal but sturdy and also has a thin padded strip for comfort. The midsole is amazing. It just has the perfect blend of cushioning, responsiveness and propulsion. I don't notice the plate so much - but I like that. These shoes feel natural and allow my feet to roll through the gait cycle very smoothly. This shoe runs very narrow hence the 3* rating. If you have medium to wide feet, this shoe will not work for you. Its a shame as it seemed a very good lightweight tempo/race day shoe. The carbon plate was stiff, but responsive (as you would expect from a carbon-plated shoe), But, if you need a little more "plush" and "comfort,", try other carbon plated shoes! Fit aside, I would have rated this shoe 4*.
