I have been buying ASCICS shoes for years now, 9.5 extra wide. They have always fit like a glove, and have been the most comfortable shoes I have ever tried. I tried recently to buy a new model the patriot 13 wide. I could barely get my foot in. I returned them for a Gel Contend-7 9.4 4E. Same problem. I returned them and tried half a size larger10.0 4E. Still too tight around the toes. I found that if you remove the foam insoles that you can get it to fit, but then the bottom of the foot doesn't feel comfortable. I will now have to look for a new brand of shoes that fit. I guess ASICS doesnt want return customers anymore...

Sizing is right on, width length etc. I have run 10 times so far in these and have no complaints. I was worried that since I found them on a super sale they would be cheap or not built to last but I wouldn’t have been upset paying full price for these (I wouldn’t have, but I wouldn’t be mad if I did lol). Cushion is good, not great, but I’m not big into those mega cushion sneakers that are becoming popular, so I’ll have to say that these are perfect for me. Nice and light weight, I can’t currently think of a complaint about these shoes, based on what I expected with the purchase. I’d recommend to anyone walker or runner. They look nice and stylish too. Tons of colors to choose from which is helpful!

I have been buying the Contend series of shoes over the past few years and have been only wearing Asics for the past 20 years when running, however the there was a design change in the padding around the ankle that is uncomfortable. Confirmed in the attached photos.Previously, I had the Contend 5 and the padding is minimal directing behind the back of the heel and then there is a thin top layer of padding around the ankle to lock in the heel to the shoe. All Asics up from 20 years ago to the Contend 5 felt great and never had an issue.I recently bought the Contend 7 from your website and did not like the shoe at all. Between the increased padding at the ankle and the decreased shoe height, it feels like my heel is not locked into the shoe.I would like to make you aware of the design flaw change. If this change is not rectified, I will have to start looking for a different shoe design or a different shoe brand.I am looking now to purchase the old sytle Contend 5 while I can still find them online.

I had always worn gel extreme, couldn't find them so I tried contend. Contend 4E was no where near as comfortable as the extreme. Sides were tight, did not seem like 4E, more awful was the toe box, it was rubbing against my toes, no room for even a little upward movement. It was a disappointing experience. They were sent back costing me the refund fee.
Having been wearing a pair of ASICS for some time as an everyday shoe/trainer, it made sense to purchase a pair for running in place of my Brooks. Gel contender 7 looked good and had good reviews in many publications. After purchasing, the shoes were delivered quickly and efficiently. On arrival when trying on, the left shoe fit well, very comfortable. The right shoe felt different, not so comfortable, when walking the left shoe was very comfortable but the right shoe rubbed the heel and felt as if the ball of the foot did not fit the insert. When running the same was found and gave blisters. Hopefully in a short timeframe the right shoe will become comfortable.
The shoes were cheap $(50AUD), so thought I’d give them a try. They are not very good. The soles are hard! They feel like compressed, hard foam, they don’t take on the shape of your foot over time, it’s almost like wearing cheap work boots or something. I remember owning ASICS gel shoes when I was younger, and they weren’t like these at all. I have an old pair of adidas shoes, they’re about 8-9 years old now, and they are slightly more comfortable and still feel a lot feel more supportive than these brand new ASICS gel shoes. Not recommend.
My son has grown into adult size shoes. I didn't realize so I ordered him the next size up in kids. When they were too tight and we determined that he needed men's sizes I went to return the new, unworn boys shoes. I just wanted to exchange them. Nope. No exchanges, just returns AND I'd be charged to return them. Last purchase I'll make from this site.
I was skeptical buying the budget line of ASICS shoes. I have recently been racking up significantly more kms than normal, and my legs have been complaining. Generally, this means I need new shoes and, since my dollars are tight right now and I have been nothing but satisfied with ASICS shoes, I took a chance. My last shoes gave me 900 km before my legs started to hurt (more than I should have probably gone without a tread change), so I was hoping the next pair could do the same.I haven't reached 900 km yet, but so far I am wildly impressed. The shoes feel sturdy, they're relatively light weight, and they are really comfortable. I live near the arctic circle and run through the winter, and I have not needed to change anything about these. They have a robust tread ... MoreI was skeptical buying the budget line of ASICS shoes. The shoes feel sturdy, they're relatively light weight, and they are really comfortable. I live near the arctic circle and run through the winter, and I have not needed to change anything about these. They have a robust tread that grips the paths I'm running (even with the addition of some snow and ice). They are padded enough that the wind doesn't chill my tootsies, but breathable enough that I'm not stoking a toe-sauna whenever I run in hot weather. They aren't much to look at, but that doesn't bother me at all. What would be the point of having slick looking shoes when the rest of you is covered in snot, sweat, or both?I've been skeptical about pinching pennies when buying shoes because, as the adage goes, you get what you pay for. In the case of the GEL-CONTEND 7s, you get what you pay for several times over! I highly recommend for anyone looking to buy a decent pair of road runners for a reasonable price.
Good value for the price point for a solid basic running shoe. More comfortable than expected, and gave me a very good impression of Asics. (My preferred brand is Saucony. Recovering New Balance customer, never again.)Good cushioning, good arch support, stable. Really good fit for my slightly wider than average feet. Toes don't feel squished.Minus 1 star only because this doesn't compare to my Saucony Ride's. But for the price, super solid.
My old ASICS are about 10 yrs old. With some superglue and new insoles they’ve been warriors all these yrs. My second pair of ASICS really, my first pair are my yard work shoes. Pretty much only wear these at the gym for workouts so they’ve never seen the pavement. However with age some sole sections are sort of glazed over and they are a little slippery on the hardwood floors, so time to replace. So I turned back to ASICS. Overall I’ve found they offer a somewhat wide toe box area. My foot is normally a D width but even in ASICS I go for the extra wide to be sure my toes have the space they need due to arthritic big toes. Got 4E and they are not excessively wide in my heel or mid foot, while my toes do not feel cramped like too many normal shoes that never fit me ... MoreMy old ASICS are about 10 yrs old. These look a bit narrow in the toe area but they feel ok. Reasonable cushioning and comfortable fit for my cardio workouts. I don’t run due to toes problems but I do a lot of indoor power walking, step, cardio kickboxing and similar. These shoes seem decent and should last me quite some time. I generally workout about 1 hr per day normally 5-6 days per wk, so not a heavy user. For my needs these are decent. At the half off pricing, it was a great deal.
