Asics Gel-Nimbus 25
I don't think there's much that hasn't already been said about these shoes, so I'll just give a summary of my brief experience with them:- Very plush, thick foam; maybe even a bit too stacked even because there’s a noticeable height difference when wearing the shoe- Toe box sort of narrow, but if you loosen your laces a bit it should help with that- Small detail, but I appreciate the actual loop of the pull tab, plus the loop on the tongue- Stretchy mesh material of the tongue helps with breathability- Defined rocker helps maintain momentum while running, it just feels very easy and effortlessOverall, I think the trade-off in stability/narrow toe box is worth it for the comfort and plushness. Best cushioned shoe i've had, but poor grip
The Gel-Nimbus 25 are my first Asics cushioned long run shoes. I switched brand as I couldn’t get a replacement in my size and I had heard great things of the Gel-Nimbus 25. After running in them now for just over a month I have some good and not so good views. The good, they are certainly the most comfiest running shoes I’ve had over the years. The FF Blast Eco midsole is super cushioned but also relatively responsive for a max cushion shoe and certainly not dull running, I can still pick up the pace if needed, I'd say a perfect balance cushioned shoe. The fit is true to size, great lockdown and with good room in the toe box for average feet. The not so good, the outsole is the main downside and not very grippy on wet pavement with slight slippage on each toe off. ... Grip is absolutely fine in dry weather but poor when it’s wet. The other minor gripe is the upper while super comfy gets a little hot as breathability isn’t good and after running for an hour or so my feet sweat. I wouldn’t like to run in these through summer months.Wold I buy the Gel-Nimbus again? Probably, If Asics improved the grip in wet and breathability these would be the perfect cushioned long run shoes.... Show more

Brilliant shoe for completing marathons and halves
These shoes got me through four tough half marathons and one hilly marathon in 2023. I also got two new PBs. I know these are not supposed to be built for races, as they are not particularly light and fast. For example, it’s hard to run a sub-20 5km in them. However, if you want comfort and have wide feed and a mild bunion like me, then these shoes are perfect. I think these shoes largely kept me injury free last year, too. You should definitely buy these if you want a safe, long-distance running shoe. Thank you ASICS. I’m looking forward to trying some of your other models this year, including the new Gel-Nimbus 26 and Superblasts (I want to push for a fast marathon and half-marathon time). Please note that I ran over 600km in these shoes before the cushioning ... They are therefore very good quality. I have tried many other running brands. Brooks are good, but their heel drop is just too high in my view. The new Ghosts, though they have a lower heel drop, were somewhat on the firmer end and I would not try to run 20km plus in one hit. Saucony are good as well, but they sadly don’t give you the option to test their shoes out. This is definitely needed, if you are running long distances.... Show more

Caused great pain and injury
I bought it in July about 5 months ago and wear total in 4 hr and 3 times only. The first thing after unboxing it, I went for a ten km walk. Second day after walk, both my feet swallowed up to knee like elephant. I went to emergency and told doctor I suspect it’s a foot injury but was referred to internal specialist. So I went throughBlood tests and whole leg ultrasound scan. No issues were found and blood tests normal. It was healed after I took anti-inflammatory medication. I discussed this with ASICS cs but they don’t admit any faults. They offered refund and a gift but refused to pay my medical expense. I didn’t take their offer because I do not accept a good will gift. If it’s my own issue, I shouldn’t ask for medication cover. Few months passed and I was ... Few months passed and I was completely healed and running 5km every other day. Then I wore it out and walked to a doctor’s clinic for exercise heart rate monitor. The walk is 10mins and the test is like 10 mins. After that, I found my vein were piping out after that ten minutes stress test. This time, I am 100% sure something is wrong with this model. I never felt any discomfort when I wear them but my feet got injured if I wear them for exercise. I would say I missed previous models so much.Btw, I am training with meta speed sky, magic speed 2 for 5-10km run currently. I walk 12km with Metarun, metaride, nimbus 23, nimbus 24 and I never had any issues. But I can’t last for 5 minutes on new nimbus 25 or new kayano 30. Even I had issue after slight exercise, the wear and walk were completely comfortable.... Show more

First time my knees hurt
So disappointed with the 25's. I started with the Nimbus 12's and the 25's are the first time my knees hurt after jogging once in them. The shoes are loose unlike previous versions. The recycled materials are nice for the environment but I would never want to compromise durability and comfort and I think that is what happened with the 25's. Also, why are the shoes the same price as previous versions? If the materials are recycled, the shoes should be much cheaper now. The white part at the bottom back of the shoe that sticks out? It's ugly and challenging to walk down stairs with it as well. Were these shoes really tested? I don't know how they would have passed any tests compared to previous versions unless the goal was to cheapen the shoe and make it less ... MoreSo disappointed with the 25's. I don't know how they would have passed any tests compared to previous versions unless the goal was to cheapen the shoe and make it less functional. I don't know why the people who design these shoes thought this is where the Nimbus should go. I would be all for it if it actually improved the shoe but I am sure this was a big step backward. These shoes felt unsturdy and cheap and resulted in pain so I am not going to wear them for jogging ever again. I don't even know that I want to walk in them because it feels like you are standing on an incline. After realizing these shoes are not for me, I purchased the last of the 24's that you can still find here and there. The 24's are great. I don't know that I want to even try the 26's since they seem to be more like the 25's which imo are really not good. I'm giving them 3 stars because they are better than a lot of other shoes but for the Asics Nimbus line, the 25's are blah.... Show more

It's been a long time since my feets were this hap
I don't remember exactly what got me sold on this shoe. Oh wait, I do remember! Asics kind of did a bang up job advertising these, and like a hungry fish, I took the bait. These shoes are definitely the most comfortable piece of footwear my feet have been in in the last 43 years. Literally feels like you're walking on clouds and having flat feet, well, this is exactly what the doctor ordered. They feel beyond perfect and I'm trying to be modest here. Asics scored yet another homerun with bases loaded. If I could give this a 10 star review, I'd give it 500. Asics shoes are notorious in my book for taking on everything I dish out and using them strictly for work and the occasional run, they get more than abused. I deliver mail and needless to say, I walk around a lot ... MoreI don't remember exactly what got me sold on this shoe. Oh wait, I do remember! Lessons for ASICS and Customers
Just bought 2 pairs of running trainers the GEL_PULSE 14 = great and the GEL-NIMBUS 25 that I had hoped would be the faster shoes for races. These are terrible for me, reasons why:1. No bounce back effect, yes these are very comfortable but they literally soak all the energy from every stride like dampening shock absorbers. I felt like I had to work an extra 25% in these, they were dead.2. ASICS claims detail 'Comfort' from an Australian focus group, I agree all would have said these are comfortable but that one thing, as a runner these are terrible if you run a 9min mile pace or slower or weight 90kg or more. Look past the comfort from all and learn from those in group that would have said similar to em.2b. There is no max weight rating on any of the ASICS ... Look past the comfort from all and learn from those in group that would have said similar to em.2b. There is no max weight rating on any of the ASICS description, these might be supportive for a lighter faster runner but not for me. Reconsider weight ratings on the website descriptions.3. The rear tab, I could feel rubbing on my right foot after 4 miles, there are negative comments about these, after 20 miles this might have lead to a problem blister.4. The heal is too high resulting in pain in the front of my lower legs, just built up too much. I did note this was great for going downhill but unless you are doing this or running very fast where the momentum takes you forward, these are going to be a slow shoe for the club runner.5. As all the top range in ASICS are of this style, I'll probably have to look back to NIKE for a similar fit, their soles last longer and are quite comfortable. A shame ASICS are going down the gimmicky shoes design which led me away fro NIKE to ASICS in the first place. Back to basics please with a flatter supportive shoe, that is comfortable but responsive and which offers decent wear protection. Come on ASICS you can sort this I have 5 pairs of ASICS on the go at the moment but these are going back as they are unusable for me to run in.... Show more

New Nimbus Gel disappointment
I purchased a new pair of Asic Gel-Nimbus recently, online & direct from Asics. This was due to brand loyalty as over the years my last 3 pairs of running shoes have all been Asic Gels, UK size 10.5. All previous shoes have been excellent, have fitted me perfectly, and have given me long service on many runs including half-marathons. So I had no reason to doubt the comfort of this, my fourth pair. On first fitting they felt tight, so I loosened the laces, stretched the shoe & persevered. Although still feeling too small, I thought it must be my imagination as that they should be a perfect fit at 10.5. I wore them on a 5 mile run, at the end of which my toes were rubbed sore & painful. Not wishing to give up on the shoe, I took them for another shorter run 2 days ... I wore them on a 5 mile run, at the end of which my toes were rubbed sore & painful. Not wishing to give up on the shoe, I took them for another shorter run 2 days later. Even worse soreness, now with an abrasion on my left second toe. I wrote an email to Asics customer service saying as much & got a reply stating that new shoes sometimes take some getting used to. Well, it's not my imagination, it is a completely different shoe to my 3 previous pairs: the fit of the shoe is the problem, it is definitely smaller & tighter than before: A DIFFERENT SHOE. I cannot return the shoes as I've run in them, so I will probably sell them on ebay. After this experience I will not buy running shoes online again - I'll go to a shop every time. And one more thing - my feet haven't grown lately, I'm 62 years old and a constant size 10.5.... Show more

Not true size. Get a half-size bigger. Calluses
The shoes are not true to size. The listing mentions that a half-size up is advisable for running. I purchased these shoes for long periods of standing and walking for my overseas trip. I bought mine in size 8 which are my actual size. They fit very snugly and pushes your toes to the tip of the shoes as you walk. I believe I should have opted for the half-size up, but again. But I did not purchase them for running. When I first put them on, they felt fine. But when worn for actual walking, they really squeezed my feet around the heels and arch area resulting in blisters and calluses to form. There are no visible defect to my shoes but the padding sole around the heel area seems to poke at my feet which were the cause of the blisters for one of my feet. I could not ... I could not return them or exchange them because I had worn them outside and they were not eligible for the warranty. So, I am quite unhappy with them because they were full of bad surprises that I was not expecting initially coming in to buy comfortable walking shoes. I can continue to break them in, but I believe the description should mention that the shoes runs small and to get a half-size bigger regarding of function especially for folks with wider feet.... Rocker Soles OUCH
I bought these a couple months ago expecting them to be more like previous Gel Nimbus shoes, which were awesome and felt great on my feet. I was not expecting a rocker bottom that rocks me back on my heels and throws off my center of balance. After several weeks of wearing them, I've developed severe heel pain from the shoes rocking me back so my heels bear my weight.OUCH! Otherwise, they are fantastic, well-padded shoes that are lightweight, well-constructed, fit great (I ordered a men's extra wide and love the width). I've worn Asics Gel Nimbus shoes for many years and I'm sad that they changed the design so much. When I stand, I like my heel higher than my forefoot. Also, I would love to see more colorful shoes in the men's line, since there are no women's wide ...
