DO NOT BUY THESE SHOES!!!!!
I purchased these shoes on May 14, 2024 and three weeks later, the material was wearing down significantly to the point where I don't even wear them for any outdoor activities anymore. The first two weeks, the fit was great, but soon thereafter, my feet were starting to hurt after a mile walk because the inside sole was wearing down quickly. I only walk 3 miles a week so I'm frustrated that Asic can't do anything for me. I called Asics on 6/19/2024 in hope of getting some credit or potential refund and I was told "since you've worn the shoes, we will not process a return or provide any credit" - I then responded "So you're telling me I purchased a pair of shoes that were supposed to be good shoes and a customer is telling you the are horrible and there is nothing ... With that being said, this will be the last purchase I ever make with Asic!... Show more

Great everyday wear, multipurpose sneaker
These sneakers are comfortable, lightweight, and good for everyday purposes, like walking, jogging, easy trails, etc. I have to be on my feet 6-8 hours per day at work and my feet aren't tired when I get home; I usually immediately walk my dogs when I get home and these sneakers are good for the transition. They aren't as durable as I'd like them to be. A pair lasts me about 3 months before the padding on the back of the heels gets a hole, and about 6 months before the tread wears out and the sneaker stops being as supportive, letting the front part of my foot start to drift to the outside part of the shoe. Still, for the price, they're well worth it for everyday wear.... Show more

Great grippy shoe, great colours too
I love the choice of colours and the style of this shoe. With regard to practicality, they feel very comfortable and have good grip and support. I have not had them long enough to really test their durability but I have high hopes based on my previous pair of Ascis. The sizes are on the small side. I ordered directly off the Asics website and ordered the same size as my current Asics and I had to return them for a bigger pair. The size difference was quite big.... Show more

Hit the trails with confidence
Big fan of Asics, this is now the 4th pair I've owned. The Gel Venture 9s are great so far. I use them on roads, forested trails, grass and stony paths. They are 'no nonsense' trail shoes designed for most situations. I like the wide footprint, grippy rubber and of course the springy cushioning thanks to that legendary Asics gel in the heel part. They fit well and breathability is reasonably good. They also keep out light rain and the plastic front trim stops wet grass turning into soggy socks, although I guess it could extend back further over the toes. Nevertheless when wet, they dry quickly which is the mark of a good trail shoe. I have changed the insole to something more substantial ( personal taste ) and used different laces to get a better lockdown. I expect ... MoreBig fan of Asics, this is now the 4th pair I've owned. In summary: I love Asics gel technology for superior heel cushioning and have to come to really respect their durability.... Show more

plantar fasciitis/ overpronate
I suffer from frequent plantar fasciitis and overpronation, I have a bunion on both feet and I'm just under 40. I walk a lot and do some cardio work here and there. I can almost immediately tell when a shoe won't work for my foot. I wore these during a five-mile walk yesterday on a paved road and my feet were a bit strained. I'm going to donate them today only after one use. I bought the wide variant of this shoe. This shoe didn't work for me, but it may for you depending on your activity level. I typically walk 20-30 miles weekly and have started rotating my footwear more.... Show more

Quality is gone
I have always been an Asics guy. I have been using your shoes since collage, exclusively Asics for running and every day use. No Adidas for me, No Nike either. Well, with the last pair, I have noticed a change, the shoe did not fit as good as it used to, the quality was somehow off. This running shoe was rubbing my Achilles hill area all of the sudden. Not too terrible but this was never a problem. And the shoe looked like it was 2 years old after 6 months. Now with the latest purchase I have noticed that the treads are not as strong, wore it every day for couple of weeks and the shoe is worn already. Quality is not there anymore, and even the elasticity of the shoe does not feel right. I did not gain weight, so it must be the shoe. I am disappointed. Not sure if my ... Ruined a great model of shoel
Asics ruined what had been a great line. The Gel Venture 9 is horrible compared to the Venture 8. The Venture 9 is so tight in the same size that I feel like it is a sizing error. I not only feel like I am ON the shoes instead of IN the shoes, but you can see in across the tongue and laces just how much less the 9 wraps your foot. The greater spread on the tongue IS noticeable. It DOES make the shoe feel loose along the ridge. Quite the contradiction to how tight (mis-sized) the shoe feels overall. Look at the overly-stuffed padding at the ankle. The venture 8 has been a great shoe. So much so that I am about to buy 2 more pairs of them just to get away from the venture 9. BTW- the materials on the 9 feel and look cheaper. Looks less like a serious runner's shoe ... MoreAsics ruined what had been a great line. The Gel Venture 9 is horrible compared to the Venture 8. Sneakers get abnormally sweaty and slippery
These sneakers get really sweaty and don't breath well. I have to dry them out with paper towels after a normal running session. It's pretty unacceptable for them to get so sweaty and slippery to the point I can't use them after athletics and have to wait a day for them to dry out. That is a huge design flaw in my opinion. You can literally see the sweat building up from the outside of the toe box area of the sneaker. The inside material around the ankle gets quite slippery and my foot literally slipped out of them when running quickly side to side doing a drill. Luckily, I didn't break my ankle. Again, another design flaw. The material around the ankle also a bit abrasive and sometimes annoys my ankle if I wear low-cut socks.I will mention that the shoes are ... The laces and insert are definitely higher quality than the Gel Venture 8. Gel Venture 8 had a worse insert and laces that were way too thin and very hard to untie, but at least it didn't have the sweat buildup problem.... Show more

Two steps forward, one step back
I average about 25 miles a week mostly on trails. I like the ride of the higher stack height and the redesigned tread pattern (also liked the previous pattern). The higher stack height provide a bit more cushioning and protection for slightly longer distances. The tread patter provided solid grip on a variety of moderate trails and on pavement. Where I think it falls short is the new materials on the upper. It seems a bit less breathable and I had a difficult time getting the lockdown I like. To solve the issue I used an awl and made an additional lockdown hole on each side. It seems to have solved my issue. But I've spent twice as much on other trail running shoes and like them less than the Gel Venture 9.For the money, it's a VERY good buy.... Show more

Venture 9 smaller than Venture 8
I recently took delivery of my 4th pair of Gel-Ventures, the 9s. Im a size 50.5 Euro and have had Ventures 6, 7, and 8. I like them for the durability of the sole and grip. Unfortunately the pair I received were smaller than my previous 3 pairs, to the extent that I even tried using a sock liner instead of my regular socks to improve fit. The online order process was quick as was the delivery. I've tried the Gel-Sonoma in 50.5 but they're worse and fit small. For every other use I comfortably wear 50.5s in the Nimbus, Kayano and GT 2000.... Show more
