I ran in the original Gel-Hyper Speed series about 10 years ago before ASICS sadly discontinued it. This version is true to the original series, which was one of the most popular racing flats before the current super shoe era. The Hyper Speed is light, flexible, and basically disappears on your feet. The EVA foam is not as bouncy or cushiony as the modern PEBA offerings, so keep that in mind. It is an otherwise fantastic shoe given the price!

My primary way to get exercise is to walk several times a week. I need a shoe that is firm and not too bouncy. A solid footbed helps with my calf fatigue that happens when the shoe is too soft. Once I find a good option, I stick with it, and I will definitely buy these shoes again when the current pair is too worn. Very light and breathable. First pair of ASICS in a long time and I’m very pleased with them.

I liked the feel of these shoes but I found them pretty narrow. My feet were spilling over the soles. Perhaps a bigger size might have fixed this but I returned them.
Alreadt ordered a half size larger but the shoes seem to not fit very well for someone like me with longer toes so ended up having to return the pair. I'd recommend trying out a couple of sizes before finalizing on a pair.
I bought this sneakers to put in my running shoes rotation for fast days 5-8KM run and it does a good job. It is light and there is just enough cushion and grip for good road running. My only complaint is that its difficult to get that lock down feel because the tongue has no cushion, and in general the materials used in it construction seems to be at the lower end quality-wise.Male-175LB size 10.
I usually wear Brooks but I’d heard good things about Asics. Even though I ordered my usual 9.5, I feel like my big toe will eventually pop through.. they are a little tighter fitting. Lighter construction which makes them feel less supportive but maybe good for hot summer days. On the fence still about keeping them.
