Our key focus for the GT-1000 11 (Extra Wide) shoe was to make it softer and smoother. Designed for an active lifestyle, this shoe is functional for running or wearing to the gym. FLYTEFOAM cushioning in the midsole is tuned with a lower density than the previous version. Teamed with GEL technology, this combination creates softer landings and smoother transitions. LITETRUSS technology is placed on the midsole’s inside angle to reduce pronation. It helps produce a more supportive stride while keeping overpronation at bay.

I typically buy a Nimbus, or similar high cushioned running shoe. I don't actually run, but i walk a little over 5 miles most days and I'm old, and a little heavy, so I want the shoe to absorb what my old knees shouldn't. I got these to kick around as I thought they had a better look. But, now I'm conflicted. I may prefer these for my daily walking adventures. They feel great and there's no lack of cushion, at least that's what my knees say. ;)

I have been using the GT 1000 and 2000 for years, This one fits good out of the box but have not run log enough to critique further. Th design has now " evolved" to a sock like upper which is probably easier to manufacture but I suspect not as supportive version in the past where there were external overlays but so far so good. I like the black on black which I think is a more modern look.

I have been slacking on wearing quality shoes for years, and when I finally decided I needed a new pair of running shoes, I decided to order a shoe that had everything I needed--sizing, extra wide, and pronation correction. Easily the most comfortable pair of shoes I've ever worn. I came back to order another pair to wear at work! I'm normally a size 10/10.5, but I recommend going a half size up because your feet swell a bit when running.

These are a comfortable option for an active day. Theyre quite wide. They don't show the dirt much but they also don't clean up as easy as other styles we had. They look a bit stretched and worn after only 4 weeks of wear. The laces do pull in correctly for a good heel fit.
I usually run in GT-2000s but bought two GT-1000s because they were on sale. I have run in 1000s years ago. Unfortunately, these GT-1000s I just bought have a smaller toe box than the 2000's and the 1000's I bought a few years ago. The smaller toe box causes my big toe to get a blister because of crowding. I am a serious distance runner. I have run 62,268 miles over the last 48 years as part of a longevity study. I have run in ASICS since they first were introduced in the United States many years ago. Consequently, I am an expert on ASICS running shoes. Although they are now a bit lighter than when first introduced, they are not as durable. They simply don't last as long. I will continue to buy ASICS 2000s.
Very comfortable right out of the box. My feet have gotten wider as I've aged, and I shifted to natural-shaped shoes (Altra, Tomo, etc.) which are great. I wanted to give the conventional-shaped Asics one more try but went to an extra wide, and love them. There's plenty of room for toes to splay, but the rest of the shoe can be snugged up so there's no slippage.
Excellent quality and good cushioning, which is the main reason I bought them. The only complaint I have is that they're a little too snug in the forefoot--not quite as wide as expected for an "extra wide" shoe. I haven't worn them very much yet, but I hope they'll stretch a bit with more use. Otherwise a very good shoe.
After foot surgery i needed a wider shoe than I normally wear. I have had luck with ASICs fitting my already wide feet in the past so I tried these out in a larger size/width. They fit great. I can't give a real performance review since I cannot run just yet. Fit and comfort wise they feel and fit fine. Good heel cushioning.
Love ASICS, this one is the best so far. I’ve worn nothing but ASICS for the past 10 years as they were the only shoe I found that work for my leg issues. I’ve always sided with the sale models or cheaper ones. These shoes will become a new standard for me. I could not be happier with them. On days wear I get 30k steps or just 5k, the comfort and support is there. Great for exercising and great for walking. I imagine that they’d make great running shoes as well.
I've worn ASICS, Brooks, Hokas, etc. These are definitely worthy of 5 stars. I'm on my feet the entire shift as an ER nurse and I also have chronic knee pain - these make it more tolerable. I would definitely buy more. If you're considering it, these are worth the try. True to size and good arch support. Wish they had more color options but I use these more as a comfort/work shoe anyways.
