When I first tried these on... two things were obvious:- I felt like I was standing on a marshmallow- The shoe was significantly bigger than me in every directionI wear an 8 i shoes and 8.5 in most running shoes. I have not tried to run much faster in them, as I prefer a somewhat firmer shoe for faster runs.

I have struggled since my teenage years when I first started running 25 years ago to find a shoe that didn't cause ankle pain during or after my runs. I've found very few pairs (only about 5) over the years that actually worked for me and I ran those into the ground literally. But companies eventually change the model of the shoe and I end up no longer being able to use them. It's been about 6 years since I last had a pair that didn't cause me pain either during or after my runs, until this pair! And believe me, I've tried dozens of shoes over those years. I am in disbelief over how well this shoe works for me. They absorb so much shock and apparently accommodate my (apparently) mechanically inept natural gate with super high arches really well. I've already bought 2 pairs and am contemplating buying 2 more. At first I was hesitant to try them because of the really tall foam rubber sole, but I fell in love with them during my first run. My husband who knows my struggle with finding running shoes is actually encouraging me to stock up on this shoe. Thank you Novablast 2 for giving me running back!

The Novablast 2 used to one of my preferred shoes for daily training. It had great cushioning and was quite comfortable. However, it was not verry durable. The upper tended to develop holes over my big toe within the first 100 miles. Although that did not prevent continued use of the shoes, it was unsightly. I also thought it could have used a bit more stability and traction. Fortunately, Asics addressed all of my issues in the Novablast 3 update. I am especially delighted that they changed the material of the upper and I have has zero issues with wear on the new uppers. Bottom line is I would clearly recommend going with the Novablast 3 over the Novablast 2.
Bought these for my daughter who to train in for High School Cross Country. She likes them very much, with the only small hiccup is some pain on the top of one of her feet. Unsure if it is caused by the shoe or not. Did not have the paid prior to the shoe but only one foot has the issue, and it is not a serious issue at all.She says the shoes provide good feedback and a little push off when running. We have tried other brands for a bit and have come back to ASICS mainly for the fit. They just seem to fit her feet better than other shoes. She is currently running about 35 miles a week, and has had the shoes for a month, they seem to be holding up ok. Functionally an awesome show. Cushioned without being ridiculous or heavy and still responsive. Aesthetically a little lacking. I got the green and beige colorway which is a little meh. Not bright enough to be neon, beige is, well, beige (good for not showing dirt), and weird choice to match the magenta laces to the Asics stripes (why?!?). Love the almost faceted look to the midsole, though. Seems like the 3s stepped up the aesthetics.Solid choice – especially for dark morning runs.
Persistent blisters on my inner heels caused by deep heel bed and the curved sides of the insole. For the first two weeks I had to alternate between these and my old trainers, using loads of plasters to ease the rubbing. Now a month in, they are still causing painful blisters, which I can't feel with my old trainers on. These trainers have now been rendered unusable which is frustrating as they are the most expensive I've ever bought. Going back to New Balance 680s which I've never had problems with.

Each lasted almost exactly 285 miles before the cushioning had worn out and my legs were killing me. I am not a heel striker though, and these do have a ton of heel cushion. Might last longer for heel-strikers.That being said, I continue to run in Novablasts because they just feel springier/faster, yet more cushy, than other Asics models and several Hokas. I dont do any super-long distance runs (max 10 miles) and I typically do my daily runs at a 7:20-8:20 mile pace. I slightly underpronate/supinate for the first few miles, it gets more pronounced when if/when I get more tired. No injury woes since I started running in Novablasts.
You went backwards on the Novablast 2 from the original Novablast. The original was near perfect. The most highly responsive and cushioned training shoe ever in my 40+ years of running. The only and common complaint with the Original was poor quality paper-thin heel counter/heel cup; my METASPEED has a supreme heel counter by comparison. The attempt at correcting was a failure. The shoe is no longer responsive nor cushioned. The forward responsiveness was negated. It's flat, curve last is lower and overall ridiculously stiff. You minimally improved the HC. Why would a change effect the C/R. Go back to the Original Novablast and mimic the Metaspeed heel counter. If a racing shoe has more structure than a trainer...that's something to think about.
