I love my Novablast 3. A versatile daily trainer I grab it for most of my runs. I've done every pace on my range in these and they feel great. I've done up to half marathon in them and covered nearly 400 miles. I have an ASICS rotation also including Nimbus 29, Evoride Speed & Metaspeed Edge+. If I spend time in any of these other shoes, then slip the NB3 back on I realise how much I've missed them. However I have a new pair which are firmer, more stable at the rear and have a more rockered rolling forefoot. This is really noticeable when I have an old and new NB3 on each foot. The older pair feel softer with more sink in feeling then bounce & I really notice the lack of forefoot rocker. I don't know at what point this happend to my older pair but I have to say I prefer the feel of the newer shoes. Perhaps this is natural & I should have retired them 100 miles ago but I still I can't bring myself to do it. The new are still in the box on my wardrobe until I do. Oh and grip could be better in some circumstances but I have ran on every terrain in these & are fine but much better suited to road.

A lot of hype about this shoe. Many shoe tubers anointed it as the shoe of the year. For me it’s a good shoe but not a great shoe serving best as a daily trainer and recovery shoe. The shoe is surprisingly firm but has decent energy return; I’d expected a feeling similar to the Sacauny 20 or 21, the Novablast is noticeably firmer than the Triumph. The shoe has a decent rocker that will drive you to mid foot strike and the “trampoline” in the forefoot is a positive even if you heal strike the forefoot trampoline will assist. A negative is performance in rain or light road freeze on a cold morning -they are slick for me and I mid foot strike. If I was a heel striker I would not wear them in those conditions. The shoe fits true to size- a tad long but no issues; in ... MoreA lot of hype about this shoe. Many shoe tubers anointed it as the shoe of the year. I have run for the last 4 years in Nike, was due new trainers and wanted a change. After a lot of trawling, buying and returning, I read an article about the Novablast. An unbiased view , I’d never tried ASICS before and sports direct were coming up cheapest .I’m so glad I ordered them, these have to be the most comfortable running shoes, I wear a cushioned trainer but these offer both cushioning to the next level and support around the ankle. Since owning these I’ve set a new PB in my 5 and 10k runs and about to do a half marathon in 2 weeks.I loved these trainers so much I bought a second pair,If you need a cushioned running trainer, please try them. You won’t be disappointedlRegarding fit, I’m a 6 and have a slightly wider foot. These were true to size , ... MoreI have run for the last 4 years in Nike, was due new trainers and wanted a change. I am an avid ASICS fan. ASICS was never wrong, be it my first gel cumulus 19 or the last pair of gel nimbus 23, everything was awesome. since I recovered from covid, I found it hard to run, every single time I tried I had extreme shin pain. I was a long distance runner but 5km become difficult for me. recently while browsing ASICS site, came across NOVABLAST 3, after reading description I thought these shows can solve my problem and I can start with shorter distance running. Again ASICS was not wrong, I really enjoy running without pain after using NOVABLAST 3. awesome pairs, much needed cushion and bounce which almost solved my problem of pain also bettered my performance. A must have for anyone looking for comfortable road or hard surface run. These are the best ... MoreI am an avid ASICS fan. At first, I thought the NovaBlast 2 were the most comfortable shoes ever. My usual shoe is the Cumulus, which I've been wearing for over 10 years, but I found them to be getting tight in the forefoot. I run marathons and weekly training is around 35 - 45 miles. I liked the 2 so much I ordered the NovaBlast 3. Unfortunately, I started to develop hip pain after logging around 200 miles in the NovaBlast 2. I didn't make the connection to the shoe until I noticed that my inner foot was dropping (sinking upon impact). It was like the cushion gave way under the inner side of my foot. This doesn't happen in the Cumulus or any other running shoe I've used. It's not a stride issue or anything like that. After a few weeks of no running to let my hip heal, I started running ... MoreAt first, I thought the NovaBlast 2 were the most comfortable shoes ever. After a few weeks of no running to let my hip heal, I started running again but only in other shoes. Hip issue did not come back. Of course, eventually I had to try the NovaBlast 3, which I only used once when I first received them. I thought it may have been a flaw with only the one pair. Nope. Hip pain started coming back and I noticed once again my inner foot was sinking. My wife even notice that my foot looked odd while running behind me. Threw both pairs in the garbage. These shoes seem to work fine for others, but not me, which is too bad because they are comfortable. It's more important to me that I run without pain!! Wish I had kept them for a photo, you could actually see they were tilted inward.
These are bouncy! I was looking for something for speed runs, and somehow landed on these. I have a wide foot and high arches, and these really are a fair bit more narrow than my other ASICS running shoes. The first 10km of running was a bit painful, but I figured out some hacks for lacing them up to give my feet a bit of extra space, and now I can run forever in them. There was a review that said they are hot/could use some better ventilation, and I have to agree with this too. My feet are pretty uncomfortable during treadmill runs - but happy for cooler outdoor runs! If I lived anywhere near a store where I could try running shoes on, I might not have chosen these for my feet (likely I’d have gone for something a bit wider with extra breathability), but these are ... MoreThese are bouncy! Purchased this shoe to replace previous daily trainer (NB 880V13,) which I had been well pleased with. Like the NB, this shoe presents smartly, and the midnight/olive oil livery is fantastic. The fit gave me pause. Initially, I did not sense that locked-in feel around the heel. However, I found that once I had laced-up and sat out on my initial run the fit I was looking for seemed to be there. The shoe felt light and bouncy throughout the 5.5 mi breaking run. Dry conditions didn't allow me to put to test the traction of the outsole, but it inspired confidence in the dry on asfalt. It was a balmy 62 degrees Fahrenheit, but the upper appeared to be fairly breathable. Comfortable and secure upper. Narrow. Like all ASICS shoes it seems unnecessarily pointy in the toe making the shoe seem almost a half size bigger than it is. Toe box volume is also low. Good lock down though. Heel has too much padding to make up for an otherwise subpar heel lock down, but with the padding it works. Foam is great. When walking around my foot rotates inward at toe off in a way that feels odd like the foam is collapsing on the medial side of the shoe. That feeling goes away when running and my first run I set my second fastest 5k time of the year without trying but the shoe is also extremely unstable along with the liveliness. Running over some rocks along a railroad track the shoe was rolling over left and right like no ones business. It doesn’t ... MoreComfortable and secure upper. Narrow. Posting this longer review because I know I always look for them when I’m shopping for a shoe, I hope it is helpful.I switched to these after running in the Kayanos for a few years. I liked the Kayano for the cushioning but didn’t need the stability. I also felt like I was wearing through them after only about 150/200 miles (I am tall and muscular, so the weight I put on shoes is a little more than the average runner) and wanted to try something with a different type of cushion that might last longer. The cushion on the Novablast is fantastic, so comfortable, and when I’m trying to push the speed a bit I can really feel it propelling me forward. I would expect to get another 200 out of them at this rate. I am really pleased with them and definitely recommend them to anyone looking for an everyday shoe that’s great for both speed work and long runs. There are two things I’d love to see improved in the next version:1. My feet don’t always sit correctly in the shoe and I have to take a step funny to kick them back into position every once in a while, I feel like the upper could do a better job of this.2. I love the way the response feels when I’m running faster, I can really feel it propelling me forward. It would be great to feel something like that at a slower pace.I run about 30 miles a week, mostly 3-5 miles at a time with a longer (8-13 miles) run on the weekend.
As soon as l received my Novablats 3 l took them to the gym to break them in on the treadmill, including to gauge comfort of toe box area, as l’ve aways had issues with rubbing on my small toe in my left foot with past trainers unless l go for a wide fit which not all manufactures cater for. 5k in and no rubbing, and my legs still felt like they had plenty of energy in them, even tho l have been mixing it up with some moderate paced runs along with fast sprints. l repeated this again a few days later with the same results, with such positive results l decided it was time for a real test. Towards the end of the week l decided to pick a dry day to run home from work (a 10-mile route), whilst carrying a backpack with a laptop and work clothing (totaling about 10kg). ... MoreAs soon as l received my Novablats 3 l took them to the gym to break them in on the treadmill, including to gauge comfort of toe box area, as l’ve aways had issues with rubbing on my small toe in my left foot with past trainers unless l go for a wide fit which not all manufactures cater for. The route consisted of river paths and moderate gavel paths, and I found the grip and responsiveness of the trainers quite reassuring whilst dodging in and out of the crowds of tourists till l reached the out skirts of the city river paths where l could open up and release my pent-up speed demon, its bad habit of mine whilst on supposedly easy runs. The Novablast 3 easily rose up to the challenge, it felt like it wanted me to push them harder the faster went. However, l did find that on wet areas of the path, l did almost slip on some turns, but all in all l found it a really enjoyable experience with the Novablasts 3’s which left my legs and feet feeling like they could still go after l arrived home.
