The Superblast fills a unique space as a training/ race day shoe. It's got a stack height like max cush shoe, but it is way more efficient. So there is definitely max cush impact resistance to your body, but it is way lighter than it looks and the shoe turns over easily to pick up the pace. It appears to be expensive, but it has so many attributes of the Metaspeed shoes, but no plate but is set up to last a long time. There isn't another shoe like this on the market. I have a wider foot, but I do not have issues with width (I run in a 2e Nimbus 25)

SuperBlast are my first ever pair of ASICS and they are an amazing runner. I am a US11 and they fit true to size perfectly for me. Instant comfort, my first run was super smooth, stable and soft. The return has great bounce for me although I wouldn’t say spring for me, however the combination of soft, nice bounce and smooth transition make this shoe pretty close to perfect. My rotation is Alphafly and Bondi 8. The Superblast has way more stability than the Alpha’s and now my Bondi’s feel like hiking boots. I’ve encouraged anyway who asks to get themselves are pair. Beautiful runners as per the headline.

This shoe does it all. I’ve been doing everything from easy/recovery runs to racing a half marathon and getting a PR in these. Cushioned ride but not squishy soft, just the right amount. Super light and stable for how big of a stack there is in the midsole. Not the best traction in wet conditions but the ahar plus has been very durable so far. Another very minor complaint is that the laces are 56 inches long.Best shoe I have ran in and I will be buying another pair for sure, even with the hefty price tag.

Just coming up to 50 miles on these and I have to say I am impressed with their do it all versatility. Probably feel best at cruising pace but work at all paces easy to hard stable and comfortable underfoot brilliant shock absorption. My only gripe is the fit isn’t quite perfect for me, it’s by no means uncomfortable, but I do get some minor irritation on my right big toe occasionally/ I feel a half size up would be too big and this could be my foot shape so not necessarily the shoes fault. The other con, and me being picky perhaps although it is light it always feels to me like I have a big shoe on foot and takes me 5 or so minutes to get into a comfortable rhythm running with it. I only point out this minor points as this is a premium priced shoe and for some it ... MoreJust coming up to 50 miles on these and I have to say I am impressed with their do it all versatility. I brought these shoe 3 weeks ago and have now covered 70 miles in them . I would say they are a great long distance shoe but the grip from this shoe could be a lot better. A couple of times they have lost traction on a tarmac surface that was not that wet.Compare to my other shoes I use I would say this is the weakest point of this shoe .The fit is good but comes up a bit small compared to my Nike /Adidas size.I mainly use this shoe for my longer run as it has a excellent comfort and keeps my legs fresh for these runs.
I gave it a 4/5 only because of the colors. It only comes as pictured. It feels great, light and soft interior with serious bounce! I tried 37 pairs of higher end sneakers and these are the best! Sadly, the color is hideous. Out of the billions of color options, I can’t believe this is what they chose. The grey is a cool textured look, but the orange against the green just does not work. So, if you like the color and can afford the price then this is THE best runner out there! ASICS we need to chat about color!
This is the only max cushion shoe that doesn't have a carbon plate and it's also the lightest one! I really enjoyed the run. It's sufficiently bouncy and you can use it for easy runs, long runs, and even the occasional tempo work. Some people have used it for races, although I still prefer carbon platesThe upper is SUPER breathable. I used it in 80F weather for a 15K and it was fine. The shoe is great out of the box but gets even better after putting in like 30-50K
Very comfortable shoes, very good for long runs on weekends. You legs will fill fresh even after 20-25KMs. But I had issues with the sizing and lot blisters on my right foot just after my first long run. I normally wear 41.5 in Novablasts and Nimbus, but when I tried the Asics size predictor, it gave me 42.5 for Superblast. I was quite surprised and finally ordered 42 and I felt even this 42 was large for me. I hope to replace my shoes with my True Size 41.5 and run again with these awesome shoes.
I have been running for 40 years and can honestly say this is the best training shoes I have ever used. To have a lightweight shoe with this much protection that is also fast, is amazing. The shoe is stable b/c of its wide platform, so a wide range of runners can use it as well. I do find it a bit large in my normal size, so I would suggest sizing down a half size for your normal Asics models. I initially purchased it just for long runs, but it's so much better than anything else out there, and so protective, it's my daily trainer now.
After years of running in Brooks I've switched to Asics. I regularly run in Novablast 3's and alternate into Metaspeed Sky+ and Edge+ when I want a different experience (I'm at ~300 miles across them all so far).I'm just 20 miles into the Superblast and so far I'm really enjoying them. To me they feel quite similar to the Novablast 3, but lighter. I actually need to take both out with me for an upcoming run to switch pairs after a few miles to get a better back to back experience. The only issue I've found is they tend to run a tad large. I've typically always run in men's 9.5 in Brooks, Nike, etc. For Asics in general I feel like they're all .5 size larger. In the Novablast it's not a big deal as the upper is semi thick which takes up some room. In the ... MoreAfter years of running in Brooks I've switched to Asics. In the Novablast it's not a big deal as the upper is semi thick which takes up some room. In the Superblast however with the thinner (Metaspeed like) upper I feel this creates a looser feel. I've actually ordered another pair in men's 9 to see if that feels better (especially when using thinner socks).
