I have to admit I’m a shoe junky and am constantly on the lookout for the perfect shoe (I.e. light, comfortable, responsive, supportive, stable, fast, good for recovery runs). For me, this is the shoe! It just absolutely checks all of the boxes for me. The only thing I can’t entirely attest to is durability, but from some other reviews, and the construct of the shoe, I’m optimistic there also. Personal preference, but I also really like the color combos. I don’t think this is the shoe that I’d necessarily choose on a 10K race day where I’m shooting for my PB, but it’s not a slouch in that regard either. Again, personal preference, but the shoe runs just a bit big which is perfect in my situation. I technically am a size 13 1/2 and this shoe fits me perfectly.

This shoe does it all. I’ve been doing everything from easy/recovery runs to racing a half marathon and getting a PR in these. Cushioned ride but not squishy soft, just the right amount. Super light and stable for how big of a stack there is in the midsole. Not the best traction in wet conditions but the ahar plus has been very durable so far. Another very minor complaint is that the laces are 56 inches long.Best shoe I have ran in and I will be buying another pair for sure, even with the hefty price tag.

Just coming up to 50 miles on these and I have to say I am impressed with their do it all versatility. Probably feel best at cruising pace but work at all paces easy to hard stable and comfortable underfoot brilliant shock absorption. My only gripe is the fit isn’t quite perfect for me, it’s by no means uncomfortable, but I do get some minor irritation on my right big toe occasionally/ I feel a half size up would be too big and this could be my foot shape so not necessarily the shoes fault. The other con, and me being picky perhaps although it is light it always feels to me like I have a big shoe on foot and takes me 5 or so minutes to get into a comfortable rhythm running with it. I only point out this minor points as this is a premium priced shoe and for some it ... MoreJust coming up to 50 miles on these and I have to say I am impressed with their do it all versatility. I gave it a 4/5 only because of the colors. It only comes as pictured. It feels great, light and soft interior with serious bounce! I tried 37 pairs of higher end sneakers and these are the best! Sadly, the color is hideous. Out of the billions of color options, I can’t believe this is what they chose. The grey is a cool textured look, but the orange against the green just does not work. So, if you like the color and can afford the price then this is THE best runner out there! ASICS we need to chat about color!
This shoe is good for slow runs and cruising long runs, but you can pick up the pace and the midsole returns that energy. The fit is instantly comfortable and the shoe padded nicely around the heel and enough in the tongue. I picked half a size down as was advised it runs a bit long, and that worked for me. It feels light on foot and I can see this working for marathons too. The sole is grippy in the dry and ok in the wet. Yes this is an expensive shoe, but if you want one shoe that can do recovery, long runs, marathons and carbon plated shoes don’t work for you, this is the next best thing.
This is the only max cushion shoe that doesn't have a carbon plate and it's also the lightest one! I really enjoyed the run. It's sufficiently bouncy and you can use it for easy runs, long runs, and even the occasional tempo work. Some people have used it for races, although I still prefer carbon platesThe upper is SUPER breathable. I used it in 80F weather for a 15K and it was fine. The shoe is great out of the box but gets even better after putting in like 30-50K
Asics have literally knocked this one out of the park. First off, there isn’t a better looking runner out there. The colourways all look great, the chunky midsole suiting every colour. The quality of materials is far beyond rivals, these feel durable, comfortable and lightweight which is a hard mix to achieve. The upper is supportive yet flexible enough to remain comfortable and the laces are great for achieving the perfect lockdown. The main selling point however, is of course the midsole foam. It’s responsive and bouncy without feeling like you have to run at maximum speed. It’s comfortable and soft enough to wear for recovery runs too. I’m no slower in these than a carbon plated shoe and to be honest, this shoe just doesn’t need any carbon. It’s the perfect ... It’s the perfect balance between firmness, spring and comfort.I did buy my usual size 10.5 (gel nimbus 25 are 10.5) and felt the toe box was super roomy when I tried them on, but read that I should stick with it. After a few runs I just feel it’s a bit too roomy (I have very narrow, slim feet) and ASICS are so good that they accepted a return on my USED superblast which allowed me to purchase a size 10 (0.5 down).Fantastic shoe and even better customer service. As a long time user of a rival brand, I am now fully converted.
I have been training with different Asics shoes including the Novablast 3, the Nimbus 25 and the metaspeed Edge+; I find the Superblast to be a magical combination of all of these three shoes. It manages to be extraordinarily comfortable and yet gives the ability to pick up the tempo without feeling squishy or spongy. It is surprisingly light for all that magical material stuffed into it. Very stable, very good looking, very comfortable. Possibly the best all around running shoe from Asics or anyone else. I prefer it to the Metaspeed because it is so much more comfortable. It's like a very capable sports sedan without the disadvantages of being a hyper focused and therefore less than comfortable sports car. A+++
I have been running for 40 years and can honestly say this is the best training shoes I have ever used. To have a lightweight shoe with this much protection that is also fast, is amazing. The shoe is stable b/c of its wide platform, so a wide range of runners can use it as well. I do find it a bit large in my normal size, so I would suggest sizing down a half size for your normal Asics models. I initially purchased it just for long runs, but it's so much better than anything else out there, and so protective, it's my daily trainer now.
I previously used the now discontinued DS Trainers for about 21 years before switching to the Novablast 2. They were great but offered little no stability for my ultra-flat feet. Fast forward and the Superblast was released. After watching some shoe vlogger's talk about the shoes, they sounded to be more stable than the Novablast, despite the higher stack. As a pretty severe over pronator, I can say they have worked well for me (currently have 145 miles logged). Speed work, long runs, recovery. Very, very versatile shoe. Not to say this will work for all overpronators but they've worked well for me and are fun to run in. Can't say that about most shoes.
