I am a fitness instructor who teaches a lot of cardio and high intensity classes as well as strength training, so I need a shoe that is versatile, durable, and offers a lot of support and shock absorption. I also deal with supination and achilles pain. It is so difficult/near impossible to find a training shoe that offers support for supination, but I found a great deal of support in the Gel-Craze TR. However, that shoe wears down after about only 3-4 months, so I was hoping to find something more durable. Enter the Gel-Quantum 180 TR. Decided to try it out as I heard it has more cushioning and is more durable than its counterpart, Gel-Craze. Here is the verdict. While it no doubt offers more cushioning as its title implies, I found that it had some issues which made it inferior to Gel-Craze. First off, the tread it slippery at the toe. While doing some quick lateral movements, I found it way too slippery. Secondly, the shoe is heavier and I experienced lasting pain on the top part of my foot between the first two toe bones. Not only that, but the colors are terrible! Not sure whose idea it was to only release two colors, which are only slightly different from each other, but it wasn't a great idea. Gel-Craze far exceeds this shoe, in my opinion. I am definitely returning these shoes as these issues occurred after just a single workout. If you have similar needs in your training shoes, I, unfortunately, don't recommend this shoe. Hopefully they make the Gel-Craze TR more durable in the future.

I really wanted to love these shoes. I have plantar fasciitis and the heal area doesn’t seem very cushioned. I’m using specialized inserts which helps. I’m glad the shoes don’t rub the back of my heal and the fit is perfect…I did go up 1/2 a size. I bought 2 pairs and got an awesome deal so I decided to keep them. They are super cute so I can wear them for everyday use, just not great on the treadmill. I’m not a huge fan of the laces on them , but not a deal breaker. I’m still looking for the perfect running shoe.

I think the nimbus 9 is a great sneaker, it currently is one of my favourites from Asics... in fact, it is one of my favourites sneakers from any brand ever, because of the great comfort and support, and because of the cool design and colourways. However, my last pair of these have some QC issues. The first two pairs I bought (a metallic one and a white one) were perfect, no issues at all. But this last pair (black) has many glue marks. Personally, it doesn't bother me too much (I still will wear these a lot), but I know many people do care a lot about this kind of issues.By the way, these fit a bit snug, specially in the toebox area. My TTS is men's 10 (for kayano 14, gel 1130, quantums 180 and 360, etc), but I prefer the nimbus 9 in 10.5 because I have more ... MoreI think the nimbus 9 is a great sneaker, it currently is one of my favourites from Asics... in fact, it is one of my favourites sneakers from any brand ever, because of the great comfort and support, and because of the cool design and colourways. I once tried on the size 10 at the store, and I think I could get used to that snug fit, but I feel more secure with the 10.5 (my feet aren't wide at all, btw). I tell you this because some reviews and videos on the internet recommend going a whole size up, some even recommend a size and a half up, and I think that may be too much for some people, so beware.Overall, a very cool and comfy sneaker that I will keep wearing and buying in the next years. Cheers

Let me first just say that I've had the every iteration of Gel-Nibus since 4, and out of all iterations the 9 is probably my favorite. Is it as light and cushiony as the 23? No it's not, but I love this shoe. I like the stiffness of it and especially like the look of it. I am not a marathon runner, I'm a doctor and I am on my feet all day however. My feet feel great at the end of the day. I have a pair for work and the gym. Although I love the Gel Nimbus line, you won't catch me wearing the new 24. Those things are hideous looking. The remind me of the Sketchers weight lose shoes from a few years back. I know Asics made the 24 for the hardcore runner, because I can't imagine anyone buying those for the looks. So I'm thrilled that Asics brought back the 9 for people ... MoreLet me first just say that I've had the every iteration of Gel-Nibus since 4, and out of all iterations the 9 is probably my favorite. I know Asics made the 24 for the hardcore runner, because I can't imagine anyone buying those for the looks. So I'm thrilled that Asics brought back the 9 for people who want both form and function. Kudos. I'm actually going to buy a dozen pair of the 9 because I love them so much and I'm worried that the will discontinue it.
I am a long time Asics user for running and walking shoes and I would not buy any other brand. However, these shoes missed the mark in comfort. Style, they look great, but after two hours of wearing them, I could not wait to get them off. At this price point, I would expect the same great comfortable fit in sport style as in running shoes, especially since all I was doing was walking around in them.
This is my fourth pair of Gel Nimbus. The first three were great and I replaced them once a year. The soles of my last pair began sloughing away at the sides within two months and now the edges are so cleaved the sneakers are unwearable. Asics refuses to stand by their product and blames me (I wore all four pairs for the same activities). Needless to say, I will never buy Asics again.
These runners are still a really nice sleek all black design ; I’ve bought them the last 3 years! Such a great gel support for my pronated arches, I feel better aligned when I walk in them. Also great width as I have a wide foot / these are normal width & fit really well! However there is no extra shoelace hole around the ankle for extra support! So the fit is quite low.. I actually look them to a Cobler to have some holes punched & now they’re perfect!
Terrible shoe, uncomfortable and fell apart within a month. I have worn gel kayano’s for 5 years. I run approximately 20-30 km per week. My gel kayano’s last between 6-12 months even when I run in them outside frequently. I purchased these to try something different as I do have wide feet and kayano’s are a little narrow for me. These do not have the same support as kayano’s, I immediately got sore knees and feet. The shoes laces broke in the first month and by month two there was a hole in them. I would have returned them but we were stuck in the middle of lockdown and couldn’t go in store. I would not recommend.
Bought these shoes with much higher hopes. I am an exclusive Asics shoe wearer. I only wear Asics and I've tried nearly every style they make for women in all price categories. I LOVE the flashy bright colors and will only buy ones to fit that bilI especially for the gym!I run a day care from home, I work out 4-5 times a week and casually lounge most of the weekend so I basically live in all categories of sneakers from running shoes to walking shoes to casual trendy shoes. When I purchased the Gel Quantum 180 I was replacing another pair of my "gym shoes" with high expectations considering the hefty original price! They turned into work shoes for me but by the end of the day my feet ache. I will not be purchasing Gel quantums again !
These are very comfortable which i guess is the most important part about a shoe. My complaint would be that they look like high quality in the picture and the asics symbol appears to be stitched in but in reality the shoes look very cheap and the logos are stickers that look like they will fade/rub off easily. I've never had Asics look like these before... Usually they are very high quality. Good thing I bought them on the discount but even then I feel ripped off. I went to dicks sporting and bought a different pair for $40.00 less that look almost identical but higher quality. Is zulily getting fake "name brand" and selling for name brand price because it sure seems like it...
