My boyfriend got a version of these shoes and said they were the most comfortable shoes he has ever worn so naturally I placed an order when I spotted this super cool red shoe in my size. Looks amazing but fit was long and narrow. I do acknowledge that my feet are a smidge wide so I wasn’t surprised but I thought it was odd that the asics was noticeably longer when I aligned the soles against another tennis shoe of equal size. Regardless. Could be a great shoe but definitely not in the running for wide feet.

I bought these shoes recently because they were very highly rated on three different websites as the overall best women's shoe for tennis for 2022. They are the most uncomfortable tennis shoe ever! I consistently wear a size 10 medium in athletic shoes and I already have a pair of Asics for tennis that I was trying to replace/upgrade because they're worn out. These are very tight in the toe box and tight on the upper heel - really just tight everywhere, but those two areas are the most noticeable. The toe turns up in a way that looked a bit funny when I put them on. But after reading the reviews, I ignored it. Bad mistake. My feet ached all evening after wearing them to play tennis for a couple of hours. It is not a matter of breaking them in. I will never wear them ... MoreI bought these shoes recently because they were very highly rated on three different websites as the overall best women's shoe for tennis for 2022. The customer service and shipping was great. I wouldn’t consider myself to have wide feet but my right shoe is extremely tight. Obviously I’m buying a woman’s size 12 so there is no the petite about my foot but I’ve never had this problem in an athletic shoe before. It’s very uncomfortable to play in. My left shoe fits normally. This is my second pair and this is my second time with the issue. After about 3 months of weekly wear the shoes break in and are tolerable if you can get through the numbing squeeze until that point. My first pair lasted about a year, no holes, but just lost the structure. I play 3/4x a week. I bought a different model of asic in a men’s shoe and they are bordering on too loose. I have to wear a thick sock to not slide around in them. Hope ... MoreThe customer service and shipping was great. I wouldn’t consider myself to have wide feet but my right shoe is extremely tight. Flawed, but good stability and cushion
31 August 2022

Even though this is still my favorite tennis shoe, it has its flaws. First, the pros: The Resolution 8 has good cushioning and great stability; given how solid it is, it is fairly lightweight and great for an all-court player like me. Now the cons. The last couple models of the Resolution have been disappointing. The shoe used to be perfect for me, but then the 6 and 7 were too stiff. The Resolution 8 has a weird plastic-like upper which I thought would crack when I started wearing them. They haven't cracked, but they're too hot. And the new innovative lacing system came unstitched in mine and I had to replace them. Overall, I still can't find a better shoe in terms of the combination of stability, cushion, and weight, but I really hope the materials and workmanship ... MoreEven though this is still my favorite tennis shoe, it has its flaws. If you have a narrow foot, this is the shoe for yo
4 March 2023

The shoe is made very carefully.Looks very nice. Unfortunately, I can only recommend it for people with narrow feet. I have slightly wide feet and the shoes were very tight on me. Fabric inserts in the laces do not help. If you have a narrow foot, this is the shoe for you.

Might be ok for narrow feet
8 December 2022

Unfortunately these were too tight over the top of my foot. It was not possible to adjust the laces because of two pieces of webbing fixed across the shoe near to the lace holes. If you have very narrow feet this might not be a problem. My feet are about average width. If the webbing was removed I think they would be very good and this would probably be a 5 star review.

Tennis Head membership
17 February 2022

I received these shoes with my Tennis Head membership.I was asked to feedback in a survey on my shoes a few months ago but I hadn't started using them so could not contribute. I have now been using them on our new Tiger Turf Astro courts and they are super. Great grip and support and they are very light so I feel I move better in them. This is better feedback than you might think as my feet can get very sore and I have fallen arches so I usually only buy K Swiss which I still love but these have been a revelation. I am a UK size 6 with what I would say is a broad foot. When I looked at these I thought they would be too narrow but they are not.

This version is incredibly tight/uncomfortable
29 August 2020

I got my pair in the mail today and I would say heed other reviews about sizing because these suckers run INCREDIBLY tight. I am typically a size 9 for sneakers/tennis shoes and never have really needed to adjust my size even when I see people review about adjusting a half-size or so. I was previously wearing the Gel Resolution 6s as they have lasted me a good 3+ years from my college tennis days (the durability of Asics are top of the market), but I am in the market for a new pair of shoes. Upon arrival, I could barely get my foot into the shoe! The fit is uncomfortably tight in the toe box area including the sides and the top of the foot. My rear foot even feels a bit constricted, but not as much as the toebox. There's no way I could wear the pair I received on the court without pain or losing some amount of circulation as there was barely any space to give. I returned my pair the same day to exchange and try sizing up to a 9.5 and see if that fit is any better. I'm a big fan of the Gel Resolution line from my past experiences and want to give it a good review, but it does seem like the construction has been going backwards based on people's reviews (which made me hesitant to buy the GR 7s). If you need confirmation that these are not true-to-size, this is the review to heed. And for the love of everything Asics, please stop cinching your customers' feet! Seems like with each new version I see people complaining about the fit and the shoes getting tighter. Implement what people liked from your previous versions.

Tore within 3 hours of play; bad customer service
26 January 2023

I bought these tennis shoes because they are supposedly renown for their durability, but the shoelace retaining strap snapped on my brand new pair within 3 hours of recreational tennis play. asics support has been SLOW to respond, and I've waited over a week for the "Warranty Team" to respond to my claim after speaking with three different CSRs, who apparently don't have access to any of the information/photos I provided to the last one I spoke with.

What happened?
4 July 2020

I have been wearing ASICS gel resolution court shoes for years. I won’t wear any other brand due to the stability, durability, and comfort of ASICS. This shoe, however, was a huge disappointment. Out of the box, I struggled to get my foot in the shoe. The toe box seems much narrower than my Gel Res 7’s. There is a fixed, non flexible band that goes across the top of the shoe about a third of the way up the laces, which I did not see when ordering. The shoe was so uncomfortable with this band, I cut the bands off, hoping to reveal shoelace holes underneath. There are none. Even with the band cut off, the shoes feel an entire size smaller than any of my other ASICS court shoes, except in the heel where the shoe was too loose. If they feel tight out of the box, send them back!
