Asics for gym cardio classes and weight training
Asics never disappoints! Just what I had been looking for. I have Asics running shoes (which I love) , but I also wanted a versatile gym/cardio class/weight training shoe with stability for lateral movements, jumping around and light to moderate exercises using free weights (squats, lunges, upper body etc). The GT 1000 11 fits the bill as it has plenty of cushioning, and fits snugger overall (toe box, dies, and heel) so I feel very secure and stable while doing gym classes and weight training. One foot is neutral and the other slightly overpronates, and I find that the shoes that are made for overpronation are better for the class workouts & weight training that i do.... Show more

comfortable and supportive
I really liked these runnning shoes and the blue is striking. I’m a 7.5 and took 7.5 but my big toes touched the tip of the shoes so I had to return them. Size 8 was unavailable. One thing that puzzled me was when you walk, the inside front tip where the big to is tilt inside. I am not too sure I would have liked that but if I could have tried these shoes in my size I would know for sure. I wanted wide shoes because I have bunions but narrow heels and those shoes were wide enough in the front and narrow enough in the heel area to fit me well. I also have a high instep and the shoes were comfortable.... Show more

Comfort At A GREAT PRICE!
I am 47 years old, have flat feet, and have had foot surgery about 2 years ago to remove a bone spur in my heel and alleviate tension due to plantar fasciitis. I work at an elementary school and am on my feet A LOT during the day so a quality shoe is a must.I normally purchase Brooks running shoes because I trust them. I decided to save some money and try these Asics GT 1000’s because they were only half of what I would normally pay for Brooks during one of Dicks’s Flash Sales. Im so glad i did!!! These Asics are a beautiful shoe and feel amazing on my feet!! They have excellent stability and traction. I can tell they are made well and am looking forward to putting some miles on these bad boys! If you’re on the fence, get these shoes!! You wont be dissapointed! ... Completely changed shoe
I used to wear the same style for years and I wanted to try the new one thinking that it would be at least the same support and comfort. The fit was nothing like the old ones. It was narrower at the front and wider at the back and it didn’t fit me because of this. The worst part was the support of the old ones was completely gone. I over-pronate and the old ones had wonderful support. I will look elsewhere for supportive athletic shoes.... Show more

Confused….
I don’t know why I was asked to do a review on this sneaker. I ordered these ASICS GT-1000 for my daughter. After a few days of Champs not withdrawing funds from my account and no shipping update, I got on the website and eventually found that my order was canceled. Didn’t say why. I got no notification. My daughter needed comfy all black sneakers for work. I thought these would have been perfect. Still, I love Champs... Show more

Cushioned support
These shoes were comfortable right out of the box. I bought them to wear at work in a medical Clinic as I am on my feet all day. I needed something with the right amount of cushion and support. I have chronic plantar fasciitis and my custom orthotics fit in them perfectly, though they might be a bit large without them. I have worn them for 2 days and so far so good. Hopefully they will stand the test of time.... Show more

Perfect for a narrow heel, yet wider ball portion
Over the years I have purchased several styles of ASICS shoes. Through trial and error, I found that the GT style works the best for my foot structure. I noticed immediately how the shoe cradled my foot. Especially in the heel bed. Realizing that everyone's foot is structured differently, you have to dig into the research that ASICS provides on every shoes to find the right fit for you. I have a narrow heel, yet somewhat a wide ball portion of the foot. The GT works great for that. I have 2 older pairs of the NOVABLAST and my feet slide all over the place in those.... Show more

Sophisticated, well-cushioned, absolutely fabulous
I am very pleased with my purchase of these shoes, which were recommended to me by my physiotherapist. The colour is not pure black, but more of a charcoal colour, which makes them look really sophisticated. The shaping of the shoe is perfect for my foot, which is fairly narrow. The comfort is absolutely great, and I am sure that these shoes will be the best thing I have bought this year. Thank you!... Show more

Too narrow for a wide foot
I bought this sneaker in an 8 wide in black. When I picked up the sneaker in the store, it was warm out and I was wearing summer socks and they seemed to fit fine. However, when the weather turned cooler, I put on a heavier sock and went for a walk in them. They ended up squeezing my feet right below the toes. This sneaker, like a of other sneakers, gets narrower right below the toes - almost like a foot corset. However, it then its very uncomfortable when walking. They make be comfortable in a very thin sock - I will try again in the spring since I don't want to waste my money. However, I would not consider these a truly wide shoe for a wide foot.... Show more

Wrong product again!
I ordered a Women Size 9 GT 1000 Black and White. Indeed the box the arrived in indicated the same. Upon opening the box the shoes appeared to be gray in color. I have others that are black and white - I know what they look like. Outside in daylight the shoes appear purple! What is happening at ASICS? My last pair indicated size 9 on the box and the shoe but were not correct. Way to big. No support. Sent to the thrift center. No more ASICS.... Show more
