They are super light and excellent for 10 km or half marathon races. I have not tried the new Magic Speed 2, I think there have also been drastic improvements there! Personally, I do prefer the Metaspeed sky. But for almost half the price, it is totally justified! So, if you are a bit tight on budget but want to try a pair of cheaper shoes or a companion shoes to the Metaspeed sky for interval and tempo runs, I would highly recommend!

This is an unreal shoe! Definitely recommended. Without a doubt. ASICS always do the coolest colours and I hope they always do! Will ASICS do a full carbon plate? I hope so! I’m

I really like this shoe because you get the feeling of flying forward. The FF Blast foam is feeling very good under your feeds and you really get that bouncy feeling when you run. This is for sure one of my most used shoes for faster intervals together with the Metaracer. I only have one thing I really do not like with the shoe and that is the upper shoe part. The net and the material are so thin and I have had a pair of this shoe before where the upper broke. There were two big holes on the outside of the shoe on both shoes. But overall I really like the shoe and that's why I have got a new pair and I cross my fingers that the outside of the shoe will not breake again.

It seems like for years now I am constantly on the lookout for a great running shoe. Companies discontinue what worked and runners keep spending money to find a replacement. I like to run is snug fit shoes, not bulky. I want to have a feel of the ground. I did my homework and after reading various reviews I thought this shoe might work for me, and it does! Its cushion is just right and the forward propulsion as promised. I love to run in those shoes and bought a second pair before they get discontinued. I am a mid foot to for foot striker. Great shoe. I admit I did not run in Asics for many years. My runs a this time are between 6 and 13 miles and I am looking forward to run in these shoes!
I use this shoe for middle-distance high-end speed work on the track, and I love it. It's comfortable, lightweight, and breathable, while also providing the support I need for higher volume work. The stack-height is lower than any other carbon-plated trainer on the market (28mm to 23mm drop, I measured it), which makes it great for tight turns. While this model runs a bit narrow through the forefoot region, it fits true-to-size for me in terms of length.
Magic Speed fits like a glove. Perfect for race day. Carbon plate propels without being awkward. PB inducing. Easy transition from Asics EvoRide 2 daily training shoes. Used on roads and gravel rail trails, steep and flat. Always comfortable from 10km to Half Marathon. Perfect introduction to race shoes for this older, amateur runner. Added bonus is the 'parkrun apricot' colourway.
Pros: Shoe is lightweight and breathable. Good fit and support. Provides a smooth rolling sensation as I move through my stride as advertised.Cons: Contrary to the description, I did not think this shoe had a responsive feel. The shoe seemed to have very little energy return and when running in these shoes, my average mile pace is consistently meaningfully slower than with the running shoes I just replaced due to age. The back of the heel on the shoe is higher than most running shoes and it caused a bleeding sore above my heel.I purchased these shoes for my four-mile maintenance runs. For my purpose, I was not satisfied with these shoes and will no longer be running in them, I will just wear them with jeans while I'm out running errands.
Best money I've spent on running shoes. The "propulsion" and high toe drop really improved my speed. Was concerned that this shape might cause some discomfort but was pleasantly surprised. Shoes fit like a glove, beautifully lightweight, slim tongue and good size toe box. I run around 10k and they are comfortable for that duration. A pleasure to wear and like running on air.
I really do not like these shoes. I’m trying to love them but every time I wear them I run slower than I could in my Nikes. They seem to make my back and my legs hurt during the run and Achilles after the run. They are rated a +5 cushion which I believe is the most. But they don’t feel cushioney. Some fast runners may love them though because they are so light. They are so light I feel like I’m barefoot. I prefer the weighted spring of Nike.
it was my own fault - I bought online and didn't try them for myself. After doing a bit of research I decided to buy the magic speed from Asics, as a change from my normal running brand. My usual brand is a small fit, and I therefore sized up with Asics also, out of habit. But the shoes that arrived were tiny. I was devastated, as they seemed light and comfy with a good rocker build and a breathable upper. I would have needed another two sizes bigger, at least. Had to return unfortunately. They seemed like a promising shoe, had the sizing been more standard!
