I keep hearing and reading about glicthes and bugs in Assassins Creed.. to be honest i have not come across any whats so ever at all.The game play is awesome and smooth, theres also abit of history in there too which sets the game up nicely. The fighting is spot on and i loved the sword moves and man some of them look so painful i also loved taking out swordsmen with just my dagger and the attacks with the dagger look even more painful then the sword.. also theres some hard case moves. One of my favourtie hard case move is where you stomp on the enemys foot then smack them in the gob and then when they sort of recover from that you end up stabbing them in the face.I liked the sneaking around as well as how you had to find out about each of your targets before ... MoreI keep hearing and reading about glicthes and bugs in Assassins Creed.. to be honest i have not come across any whats so ever at all.The game play is awesome and smooth, theres also abit of history in there too which sets the game up nicely. I thought that was abit silly in my eyes it should have just been a game set in the past as it would have made the game alot better in my view. All in all if you like old school Assassins style and you like some really great sword fighting etc then i say have a look at this game for sure.

Seriously, I bought this game because I (like many others) like to check reviews. However it is so misleading.1. If you like repetition - buy this game. You cannot fast forward scenes! So if you fail a certain task you have to watch the whole NPC conversation over again!!!2. Screen tearing. Most people dont mind this; but console games in my opinion should not have screen tearing to this degree.3. This game is hardly about stealth. Other users may disagree but lets face it, the last 2 missions = no stealth; instead your assassin now becomes a duelist who can take on 50+ men tirelessly because all you do is COUNTER, COUNTER, COUNTER. omfgPlease ffs spend the money on ANOTHER game; because this is undoubtedly one of the worst games on the PS3.

Video games can attempt to mimick real life, but ultimately why games are played is to escape real life, due to the constant repetition of these real life scenarios, developers must take a little artistic liberty in order tokeep the game compelling. This is the major short fall of Assassins Creed. The game is certainly ambitious but somewhere along the way it falls into a tedious cycle when it begins to become a chore. It retains a decent story (which is required for its incredible sequal) and solid gameplay, but the overall design lack variety, and ultimately becomes an overall glaring flaw.

When I first got this game, I was thrilled. You had so much freedom to do whatever you liked, explore, assassinate and hunt down those Templars. The scenery was nice (albeit a bit grey), the graphics quite amazing and the cities were huge enough to make you think wow.You are Altair, an assassin who got arrogant and dangerous so all your gear gets taken off you. Damn. Now you have to do a whole bunch of missions to lead to an assassination that will lead to you getting your gear back. Yay! The missions are evidence collecting. Like eaves dropping, pick pocketing, doing challenges to get flags that some bastard decided to drop all around the city!! =P They're alright and make you appreciate the world, but ultimately you just wanna get to the assassination. The ... MoreWhen I first got this game, I was thrilled. Like eaves dropping, pick pocketing, doing challenges to get flags that some bastard decided to drop all around the city!! =P They're alright and make you appreciate the world, but ultimately you just wanna get to the assassination. The world of Assassin's Creed is quite alive. With pedestrians (would they be called that back then?) walking round, doing business, carry pots on their heads. And when Ubisoft announced that in the chaotic aftermath of a assassination the crowd will act dynamically and what not, it sounded pretty impressive. But they don't. They don't push at you or fight back they just run around like idiots! xD Pretty much if you're running and you hit them three times consecutively you'll fall. It's always the same. The controls are one thing that do stand out in this game. I'm not sure how to describe them but pretty much you have a low detection mode and a high detection mode, with the low one for stealth and the high for running over things. It's really REALLY well implemented and I love Ubisoft for doing it so damn well! The only thing that's disappointing is that Ubisoft promised that each button was attached to a part of the body like, head, left arm, right arm and legs. But it kinda wasn't at the same time. The controls are still amazing though!!Now there comes the combat... the combat is really a doubled edged blade, it can be cinematic at times but mostly, it's just annoying. Pretty much trying to hack and slash your way out will work but it's better to just wait to parry all their attacks. They will attack you, you will parry, cinematic reversal! That's bout it. It gets really annoying when there are like 12 guards and you have to wait for ages to kill them all.The best part of the game would probably be the assassinations which are creative in how they begin with the awesome scenarios. It's fun trying to kill them without anyone noticing and always a challenge too. Also the sound of your blade finger... thing... always sounds just... right. >:DThe only thing that held this game down from getting a five star rating is because it is indeed very repetitive by the end. Not only does the scenery seem a bit too grey but those damn guards will chase you down for riding a horse past them. Well I suppose you are meant to be a blendy inny assassin but you look nothing like a monk and blatantly have knives sticking everywhere. Sigh. xDThis is still a good game! Just, not what it could have been. Worthy of a few rents, or maybe the bargain bin buy. =)

Good game ruined by bugs/crashes

I was quite impressed by Assassins Creed when i first started it up, good graphics at first if you can ignore the constant screen tearing and slowdown, solid gameplay, and best of all, it was fun to play! That was until the crashes started...Yes, this game should never have been released until Ubisoft Montreal had ironed out all the bugs of which there are many. Without exaggerating, EVERY TIME I played Assassins Creed, it would crash and freeze without fail and would only come right once I had re-booted my PS3, I cant explain enough how frustrating this is, especially when it happened after 2 hours of play, because the game freezing would result in all your saves being null and void for some stupid reason, so effectively you just wasted 2 hours of your ... MoreI was quite impressed by Assassins Creed when i first started it up, good graphics at first if you can ignore the constant screen tearing and slowdown, solid gameplay, and best of all, it was fun to play! I did manage to finish the game however, after many hours of frustration, made worse by the fact that the game would be great if it wasnt for these many development bugs. Hopefully they get it right for the sequel. My advice, stay away from Assassins Creed unless your prepared to sit through hours of aggravation. Because of the crashes and bugs, and only because it is reallly THAT bad, Assassins creed gets 1 star from me. Deeply disappointing.

Though understandably simpler than later offerings from this franchise, AC is a very enjoyable play.Set against the rich historical backdrop of the Third Crusade, the game weaves real historical events and figures into a fantastic narrative, telling the story of an age-long conflict between the secret orders of the Assassins and the Knights Templar. The game-play revolves around stealth assassination, free-flowing exploration and collection quests. Once the controls are mastered the action flows beautifully, with enjoyably challenging platforming sequences and a smooth but satisfyingly bloody combat system. The game-play suffers from repetitiveness, in that the structure of most of the missions is very similar though the finer details vary. Similarly, acquisition of collectibles becomes somewhat tiresome after a while.Whether you blaze through the game in a weekend, or spend a couple of weeks hunting down collectibles, the game looks great and plays well. All in all it is a good introduction to the series, which builds on the core elements with each successive game.Trophy hunters beware, the PS3 version offers no trophies even for the collection quests.

Assassins creed is a solid game with fresh new ideas and flawless graphics. The idea behind the storyline is borderline Hollywood genius but unfortunately the same cannot be said for the gameplay. Although the fighting is fluid and the main characters le parkour can take you ANYWHERE through your surroundings, the missions do become repetitive. It is the first instalment in which is sure to be a massive franchise and you wont want to be left behind by missing the first instalment.Perfect excuse to try this game now its gone platinum.Final score 7/10

Stunning game
15 October 2010

I found myself playing the second installment of this series before trying the original and just had to see where Assassins Creed had started. It is a complex and graphically stuning game that will evolve around you as you become more compentent as a player. There is a lot to learn yet the controls are cleverly orchestrated to give the maximum options with minimum effort. Not a game for young children but probably a 14+ game in terms of moderate graphical violence. Would recommend it to anyone who enjoys the third person experience.

Where it all began...

Assassin's Creed features one of the most unique gameworlds ever created: beautiful, memorable, and alive. Every crack and crevasse is filled with gorgeous, subtle details, from astounding visual flourishes to overheard cries for help. Not enough can be said about the living, breathing universe that you'll inhabit in Assassin's Creed. As assassin extraordinaire Altair, you'll explore three major cities of the Holy Land in the 12th century... It is truly a game to play, an the price you pay. It's worth it, the only let down with this game on PS3 is the lack of trophies...

Great game for about the first 2 assassins and then you realize that there nothing else to the game. The mini quests mean nothing, collecting the flags, killings all the templars, doing side missions, saving everyone, all this is just an excuse to waste time as it gets old fast.Don't get me wrong, the game looks beautiful, and the minor bug where it would crash after 15mins of game play has been sorted and the frame-rate drop isn't too bad (untill your at the end of the game, when it becomes unbearable). The controls are easy to master too, which is good.As far as being an assassin goes, most assassinations end up in a mass orgy of mobs beating down on you, not quite the stealth assassin you'd expect (and they all end up like this). All in all, I'm glad I didn't ... MoreGreat game for about the first 2 assassins and then you realize that there nothing else to the game.
