Beautifully looking game. Paris is stunning and full of life with plenty of little quests - chasing thieves, investigating crimes, assassinations, etc. (They can get repetitive but one is in no way required to complete them). The plot and characters are not memorable but engaging enough for a game with such fun movement - fun was had playing. Outfit and weapon customization are a nice touch. Not nearly as glitchy as people say, not one serious glitch during my playthrough. (I wish they'd allowed horse riding or carriages like in the other installments, but that's a minor gripe.) The game is ok, not the best. It is fascinating, gory French Revolution with intros co-op play. Even though the setting is gorgeous... the story manages to disappoint because it has a so-so plot line. While they did take a few steps in the right directions they just weren’t executed correctly. It has several issues with the story, gameplay, frame rate, and graphics... all put together it just did not work. While it is fun to play the first few times you start noticing these details and it loses majorly begins to lose its charm. The game is high graphics quality so I recommend ages 15 and up. I've really enjoyed this game! It's a fascinating part of history, and the makers have done an incredible job including that in the story. It's beautifully made as always and such a pleasure to play. My only problem is that some side quests need outside players; not crucial to the story but still annoying. And I feel like this game is harder than some of the AC games. But if you love AC or want to start, this should absolutely be on your list!

Assassin's Creed Unity Review

I've played every Assassin's Creed game and they have their fair share of amazing moments with what can be considered clumsy controls. If you look at how much your character can traverse in the environment mixed with AI chasing you or timed objectives it seems slightly forgivable to have some controls to be inaccurate. I personally felt that Unity had less of these fumbling controls and more smooth animations with he parkour moments. There are a few large patches to download but they make the experience much better over all so I really advise you update your game as soon as its in your console of choice. I played on the ps4 and was very impressed by the level of detail in the environments. Everything seemed very well crafted esthetically. There is a lack of a day/night cycle due to the extremes put on the hardware, so I assume the just chose the time of day and stuck with it to save on making the visuals as high as possible. You can see the difference in the newer AC Syndicate. For better or worse it does have a day/night but it seems to be taxing on the overall visual quality in my opinion. The gameplay such as combat takes a bit of getting used to. You never really feel like you've mastered it until you've put some hours into the game. It is a slower pace but it is realistic and brutal with finishers that are really cool. The story is decent enough, full of chase sequences and fun assassinations that span all of Paris. One big draw back which most reviews have touched on is the lack of french voice acting and accents. English accents litter the game's main characters and it just feels lazy overall. The acting delivery is on par with last iterations of AC and is very high quality. The world itself has a lot of replay value if you enjoy the core gameplay of running around killing bad guys and collecting items. I found myself not really interested in revisiting the story missions as much. The Coop is a huge feature which is the legs of this game. You can have friends or other players join in on a mission to assassinate a target and each player can utilize their unique skill sets to accomplish this in a fun fashion. I enjoyed this version of AC the most. Yes it is missing the grand sea battles ofBlack Flag, and thankfully the long intro with AC3. I found the main character Arno to be less annoying than Ezio. The game feels a lot like the first AC regards to it being scaled back to give you a great presentation with the addition of coop. I hope this review gives you a better idea of what you are jumping into with AC: Unity. Check other reviews, watch gameplay, rent the game or if you feel so inclined buy it.

However the options in combat have been reduce somewhat from what's been available before yet again small blades are missing from the game and for the first time in a while the hidden blades have been removed as a combat option ( there's one there for assasinations of course) the riddles in the game that take a whole side mission are overly obtuse and frankly to difficult for the normal player those with only decent knowledge of Paris and the very logical minds out there will have a decent chance of completing all of them. The side missions are plenty full but completely unrewarding. The map is cluttered with collectibles from the get go and many are locked unless a player downloads and plays through the unity star phone and tablet companion app and others are completely Impossible to open as they rely on a system that is currently broken for many people ( initiates a game tracking website that is linked to uplay). Now this game has done away with competitive multiplayer which has been something of a series favourite for many players and intoroduced a coop missions, now the system when it works well is pretty decent you and some friended go aroun Paris and generaly stick it to the Templars. But there's still somyhing lacking from its cool but it's just like the rest of the game repetitive, clunky and mostly forgettable. Over all if the old assasin creed games are your thing and your just I hi g for more this is right up your ally but anyone who is wondering if this is the assassins creed game that will reinvigorate the series then the answer is no.

Now, after finishing all 12 chapters and doing most of other things in the game World I can comment on all its strong and weak points. Let me start with the strong ones being the graphics (it's gorgeous), environment (Paris is one of my favourites in real life), huge crowds of people populating the environment, story, enemies (way tougher than in Black Flag), weapons (many options there), co-op missions (really interesting if your 1-3 buddies don't act like Rambo) and missions. Even with such big game World Ubisoft somehow managed to avoid obvious repetitions and made the game interesting from the very beginning to its end. I'm now playing Dead Kings DLC, so the game really sucked me in. I spent around 30 hours in there and still there are quite many things I can do (won't do them all, obviously - there are many other games waiting for their turn). But as in any other game - there are issues. The biggest ones being technical. I mentioned crashes already (thank God they didn't match auto saving times), but there are occasional enemy AI issues (a few times some enemies were standing and walking or trying to go through the wall) and really odd crowd appearing/disappearing problems. Once even one glitch made me reload the last checkpoint since I was going for all the challenges (100% sync) and had to follow one guy in a missions undetected and there were 3 enemies standing and acting strange in my way (reloading that checkpoint solved it). Also 2 or 3 times I had serious frame rate issues with 1 case being during a co-op mission where I had to run away from the enemies (they almost killed me because of those lags). These are the problems I faced and they made me lower the game score by 1 star. I can name 2 more "issues" some players could face which never bothered me. First one would be levelling up. If you are not doing any side activities and not taking it stealthy enough it's highly likely that you'll be dying a lot. Better weapons and clothes cost quite a bit - add this on top of the fact that the enemies are tougher this time and you will probably be playing Bloodborne before you know it. Second "issue" is something so-called achievement/trophy hunters (aka people with no life) will face - in order to get all the trophies you'll need to open all the chests in the game and there are almost 300. Big part of them needs their locks to be picked and some locks aren't simple. I can imagine that you would need to waste at least 10 hours just to gather them all sounds like...fun. I was opening all the chests that were on my way and still only opened 40%. I'm sure that there are other time-consuming and monotonous trophies, but don't think anything can beat such boring collectible-related one. To sum it up - we have a new Assassin's Creed game which is better than any previous Assassin's Creed game in some areas (graphics, crowds and tougher enemies) and way worse in others (hello, technical issues). Can I recommend it? Yes, especially at this price. I do hope that the next game where the story takes place in London will be way less buggy.

Good, not great.

Having been a huge fan of the entire Assassin's library i was super excited for Unity and for the most part i was not disappointed, Fans of the series probably know you're not going to get a great story and that it is more of a world to explore and complete side missions and achieve those all important viewpoint synchronisations. Unity does not fail to give a huge well realised Paris that vastly changes through the course of the game mirroring the beautifully dark era of the French Revolution giving moments where the player must just pause and take in the stunning visuals of Paris and its rooftops. For the most part my play through was unhindered but when i reached areas with dense population of NPC'S (non playable characters) the game began to chug with a noticeable drop in frame rate. Not something one would expect from a highly polished fluid next generation console game.

This game started a new approach for the assassin's creed franchise . Each game has been getting better with graphics and optimization . After it came out, it got bad reviews due to the myriad of glitches and frame rate issues.I'm happy to say that waiting for all (most) of the bugs to be fixed has been wonderful. The game is really stable and has very few glitches, from what I've encountered so far. I mostly see crowd glitches and new areas popping up late. I've probably put about 40+ hours into Unity and I'm still nowhere near completing everything. I'm about half way through the story mode while also doing a ton of side missions and it's very addicting.Story missions are pretty good and have a good mix of things that need to be accomplished. When the game came in, I looked at the disk and it looked to be in nearly perfect condition. But when I put it in the Xbox ONE, the disk would spin really fast, then stop, then start again. It did this for quite some time. I took it out and DL the update and after several hours, I was able to play it for a while. I haven't tried the disk again because I've been so busy, but I am hoping that what ever the problem was, maybe it fixed itself.Normally, when I buy a used game either from Walmart or some other company, I usually don't have any problems. This may be that one disk out of a thousand that doesn't work properly.
