Bad settings out of the box. Good once reset.

I purchased several of these monitors for our office to replace some smaller and lower resolution displays. When I first got it setup I was disappointed in the picture quality as text was blurry and pixelated and the colors were bad. It looked like garbage. After contacting Asus support they recommended I reset the display and that fixed it up. So if you have this issue do the following.Open the menu on the monitor using the middle button and then click it. Go to the wrench icon at the bottom, go down to more (and click down again to open the next menu) and then go to All Reset. Hit Yes.I am not sure why they had such bad setting by default but this fixed it for me.

The best PC monitor that I have ever used. The graphics are an exceptional 4k on lower settings and with the 2 power hookups on the video card it does 8k without tearing in the game Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. When I work doing 3d models or visual effects it is crisper graphics so I can render movie quality effects without having to move them to another machine to render.

Don't be fooled.

Purchased 2 of these recently, one for the partner and I and we're currently having the biggest bout of buyers remorse. We used to have a 4-5 year old BenQ XL2720Z each. with their TN panel and 1MS response time, now going to this Asus VA panel with its 4ms reponse time, it's horrible. There is 0 way to remove the ghosting, ignore all the "Overdrive" settings and flashy talk in the product description, it's not going to happen, its a placebo effect. You can't call this a gaming monitor if the second you move your camera, the screen fills with motion blur. This is one of the biggest tech purchase disappointments I've had to date. Example, we're currently playing through FFXIV and it's just terrible, see a tree in the distance that's slightly darker than the grass/sky ... MorePurchased 2 of these recently, one for the partner and I and we're currently having the biggest bout of buyers remorse. Move your camera slightly, it's red tinged border of the ghosting image... just terrible. Playing Tell me Why last night, with all their dark and moody scenes and it just takes the fun out of the game. Even just moving a dark mode browser across your monitor when you've got a lighter background, it's terrible. Im very disappointed. Yes, I did see this was a VA panel but I did not expect it to be this bad. I wish I was able to get a refund for these screens.Pros -Great Colour (just don't even think about moving your camera in game)Physical designCons -GHOSTING

The ASUS XG49VQ is a monitor like no other I have ever owned. I came from using a 3 monitor setup, with big bezels in the way, content across multiple screens was never an attractive option for me.This changed everything. The improvements in productivity are fantastic, the ease with which I can multi-task across several programs is great. For gaming, 32:9 is unlike anything else, provided your favourite titles support it, and I can honestly say is as immersive as gaming gets without a VR headset. Some reviews of this monitor lament it's vertical resolution of 1080p - honestly, it isn't an issue, especially if you're coming from a 24/27" 1080p display(s) as I did.You won't regret this purchase, provided your system is poweful enough to drive this monitor.

Pros: I bought this for two reasons: I needed a lot of screen space for work when I have multiple applications open; and I play games that really benefit from an ultrawide display (racing games). It was a bit of a compromise as the cheaper ones had inferior refresh rates and the ones with better features were a lot more expensive. So, with its mid-range refresh rate, resolution and cost it hit a sweet spot of price and quality.Cons: Lack of USB-C is really unforgivable in a monitor these days, especially an Asus one because their gaming laptops all come with DP over USB-C. It doesn't have enough DP sockets and HDMI is too limited for super ultra-wide displays. It takes some tweaking to get the best out of text-based desktop apps, as it seems to be optimised for ... MorePros: I bought this for two reasons: I needed a lot of screen space for work when I have multiple applications open; and I play games that really benefit from an ultrawide display (racing games). Poorly supported with poor warranty service

It’s a neat idea, unfortunately most games don’t properly support this resolution. It makes many games stretched out badly of unplayable. If you do coding work like I do, the vertical resolution is insufficient and is quite hard on the eyes. The box for this is massive and far too latge to store at home. Unlike other companies, ASUS will not ship you a box to return ship it in for warranty or let you drop it off yourself. Leaving you stuck with a broken monitor.

Reasonably priced monitor from Asus

My first impression are very good, the whole package looks like made of premium quality. Monitor aesthetics has a matte black finish, with red accents but nothing too gamer-flashy. The panel borders are very slim. At the rear is a circular RGB LED which is compatible with the ASUS Aura Sync app. Also, monitor has a down facing red light projector called Light Signature, this projects ROG motif onto your desk. You can make your own shapes or simply use one of the two standard ROG logo designs. The I/O layout keeps things very simple, it provides HDMI 2.0, two USB 3.0 ports, 3.5mm Mini-Jack and a DisplayPort 1.2. The 32-inch curved panel (Samsung LSM315DP01) with QuadHD 2560 x 1440 resoluton, 93PPI, 144Hz refresh rate and AMD FreeSync is more than enuf to enjoy in any ... MoreMy first impression are very good, the whole package looks like made of premium quality. Every game I tested look very good with excellent detail and almost zero rough edges (AA - off), no stutter, no tearing, no ghosting. Overall, this monitor delivered an enjoyable gaming experience. I replace my old 23,5 inch LG monitor with ASUS XG32 and difference is like day and night. In the end, The ASUS XG32VQ provides an excellent balance of price, resolution with other features like refresh rate, screen size, and other advanced specs make this monitor highly recommended in this class. PROS: Price Design Build quality 144Hz FreeSync Good colour gamut Light matte screen Good static contrast performance Very low input lag Pixel density, resolution and size RGB and Light Signature (for RGB fans) Built in FPS counter (no need for FRAPS) CONS: FreeSync range 48 - 144Hz Powerful graphic card to run that pixels (Fury or Vega)

Pros: 1440p is that perfect spot where you get high frame rates and great detail. You can still crank all the settings up to ultra and hit well over 100fps.This screen is great, tiny bezel, solid metal stand, loads of features and functions and well designed osd. It's even got a number of RGB lighting settings to play with if that's your thing, although it can all be switched off of you don't want to use it.Freesync is far better than I expected and I don't think you could go back once you've tried it. The colours on the va panel are brilliant but I spent half an hour tinkering until I was completely happy with everything.Went to this from a Samsung c27hg70 thinking it would only be an improvement in screen size but realistically, the build quality and picture ... MorePros: 1440p is that perfect spot where you get high frame rates and great detail. Pros: - great picture quality- perfect for gaming and workstation CAD work- does take some getting used to but doesn't take long. - Stand is well designed so it doesn't take up too much desk space- built in speaker is a nice touch and usb hub- super fast refresh rate - makes games feel faster and quicker to reactCons: - there was a dead pixel after 2 days, which is annoying, but only one. it has a full warranty which triggers a full replacement after 5 dead pixels.
