Two PWM FanConnect headers provide additional DIY flexibility. Chassis fans can be directly attached to the card and tuned with a curve that is based on CPU and GPU temperatures, delivering extra intake or exhaust for demanding 3D tasks. A GPU bracket provides extra stability to the critical connection between die and heat spreader. The rear I/O bracket is made from stainless steel to prevent corrosion in humid climates and provide a more resilient mount. A conveniently placed Dual Bios switch allows quick selection between “performance” and “quiet” speed profiles for the Axial-tech fans. Know if your PSU is worthy. ROG Strix GeForce RTX 4090 graphics cards feature a high-speed circuit that constantly monitors input power from the PSU and utilizes conveniently placed LEDs to indicate voltage regulation issues and cable connection problems.

Awesome card, Asus's Support has not changed sadly

Card will do 3015mhz just adjusting the core clock. No real need to overclock it at all. It very much will play anything without frame generation up to 3440x1440 with ease.Sadly with EVGA's exit not a lot of options, most the other cards read a lot of short comings, failures to annoyances that this card does not have. This card is massive, but for good reason. It ran extremely cool with air cooling in my system. I never saw the temps get above 70C, which (in my experience) is not common for these high wattage cards. Granted, this is the first ASUS one I have had in a long time. Anyway....The performance is outstanding and makes it a much better buy than an RTX 4080. I upgraded from an RTX 3090. My games run at 4K, max settings, and keep 120 FPS without much issue, which is the max my monitor can do. Cyberpunk is the only game that I have tried that does not maintain that high of a framerate, but it still sits in the mid to high 90s.The biggest concern is the size. Just something to think about with a case before buying this card, make sure your case can hold it, unless you plan to water cool it. Then it fits much better. This part is not a reflection of the product, but B&H themselves. B&H made getting one of these unicorn cards extremely easy. I added myself to the waitlist and about a month later I got an email giving me 48 hours to make the purchase. I did so and the card arrived the following day (keep in mind I live about 5 hours from the B&H mothership). Regardless, it was simple and easy and I appreciate the waitlist system B&H employed here.

Yes I understand that the blah blah blah statement from ASUS and everyone that all RTX 4090’s have some coil whine. However there is a limit where noise of the coil whine is unacceptable. This card happened to produce too much coil whine. Upon Looking online this seems to be a common issue on the RTX 4090 ASUS STRIX, RTX 4090 TUF, RTX 4080 STRIX, and RTX 4080 TUF. This also appears to an issue on the newly released ASUS TUF and DUAL RTX 4070 and 4070ti. So looking at this it sounds like to me that ASUS doesn’t really care about this issue and due to this People should avoid ASUS graphics cards for now unless you are okay with the coil whine or want to risk ... MoreThis is an excellent GPU with all the ASUS Bells and Whistles. In addition, It is also much cheaper than the RTX 4090 ASUS Strix as well. Also if you don’t believe me go on YouTube and search ASUS RTX 4090 coil whining.

Great card overall if not considering price
18 November 2022

I replaced my strix 3080 with this card for my 4k 144 monitor and it does a decent job paired with my 5800x3d. It gets over 180 fps in pubg with maxed out settings at 4k easily. However, this thing is huge and needs a lot of power. With my Corsair 4000d case, it can only fit if I don’t place the cpu aio radiator at front. Also, it will work better with atx 3.0 power supplies which I do not have due to the lack of choices on the market. Right not I am using a rm850x from Corsair, it will work with three 8-pin pcie connectors, but will only get about 90% of power in this setup. Even with all four ports connected, I’m afraid to set the power limit to over 100% due to the burning connector issues. That’ll be something nvidia should fix immediately, such thing should not ... MoreI replaced my strix 3080 with this card for my 4k 144 monitor and it does a decent job paired with my 5800x3d. Again, it will be better paired with an atx 3.0 power supply, but it will cost another few hundreds and there’s not much choice.

Great performance, terrible coil whine
17 March 2023

Pros:- Best out of box performance- Lots of OC headroom- Incredible temps- Great build qualityCons:- Loud coil whineI was very excited to see best buy had the ROG Strix 4090 in stock again. I already had the MSI Suprim X 4090 but had planned to move that to my living room PC and put this in my office/game room PC. Unfortunately, after firing up the first game, there was unbearable coil whine. I tested in MW2, Hogwarts Legacy, Hitman 3, and Cyberpunk. I tried undervolting, power limiting, and capping fps to 144 at 4k. Although this made it a little bit better, it was still far from acceptable. I could even hear mild whine at 60 fps! My Suprim X, has very mild whine. In order to hear it, you'd have to be in a completely quiet environment and actively looking for it. On the Strix, it is so loud, I could hear it even from outside the room. If you game exclusively with headphones or have a very well insulated case and keep it far from you, then this is going to be a fantastic card in terms of performance and thermals. Otherwise, this may not be the model to play the coil whine lottery with. Sadly, I will be returning.

The ASUS ROG Strix OC 4090 has amazing out of box performance, plenty of additional OC headroom, amazing thermals, and solid build quality. Unfortunately all of this gets overshadowed by the unbearable coil whine my card had. I have tried 2 different Strix 4090s. One I purchased from microcenter and one I purchased from Best Buy, and both were identical in coil whine. Not just any 4090... Henry helped me replace my top-notch liquid-cooled version with a ROG Strix 4090 OC, which is probably the best 4090 on the market - and perfect for someone like me running 2 x 65" LG C1 OLEDs for monitors because Asus is the only mfg to put 2 x HDMI 2.1 ports on the card.Regardless, what really makes this purchase special, along with all the rest is just how amazing the staff at Microcenter is. This is probably one of the greatest pro-consumer things I have found from ANY company, ever. Trust me, look into this for any big purchase!I want to send a HUGE SHOUTOUT to the AMAZING STAFF, who have continually gone out of their way to help me ensure my most demanding customers (and myself) are satisfied!Henry H - Thank you! You are simply amazing!Layda C - Thank you too! I genuinely appreciate MC being so proactive in working with me to get something so rare replaced so quickly. You must be an amazing manager, because every single person I've worked with at your store is fantastic!Ian C - THANK YOU IAN! I truly appreciate all the insight and help getting this latest PC up and running the way it should!!Also a big thank you to Scott D, Alex S, and Tyler P.YOU ALL ARE LIKE FAMILY! THANK YOU!See you at Church, very soon!! :)-Ryan P

RTX 4090 Strix

Coupla inches longer than a 1080 strix. Had an older 1500w psu circa 2008 hehe. You really need a new one because of all the wiring changes. Originally had a TUF but the HDMI wouldnt work. This one np at all. HDMI, Display Port all work fine. Runs cooler under load than at idle. guess i need to work on fan curves for a bit. Got a 10900 cpu in 2020 been trying to get a video card since then. Life is short just get one. It will run anything this side of a holodeck. So Cons it will peg your epeen douche meter. But just a PC master race cross you will have to bear at 150 fps on RTX psycho settings.Honestly value is fair to poor but will last significantly longer than the same spent on hookers and blow.

I was on the fence about getting a 40 series due to the alleged power consumption drama. Max draw has been about 513 watts. This card rarely sees temps over 60 C, and runs all games at 4K max. Even in Star Citizen it averages 80+ FPS @4K. The card is huge, but I always use full towers. I used ENTHOO PRO 2. (make sure you measure). Price point was right around my expectation with consideration to the trend of the last few years. I do video editing (4K), Gaming, Recording and Streaming. Dual AV1 Encoders is a must have for my workload and this card delivers on all fronts with no signs of breaking a sweat. Looking to upgrade your workhorse? Look no further. Stay Frosty!

Step aside, K|NGP|N, The new king is here.

First and foremost, let's start with the obvious fact: this thing is HUGE. Even next to both my K|NGP|N cards that use an AIO, it is a behemoth to behold. Because of the shape of the GPU, my case (Haf 700 Evo) could not support the GPU without a riser despite being an enormous case.In this case, size = performance because without an overclock this card blew my 3090 ti out of the water for smooth gaming performance and nice 3DMark scores. Also, it is extremely fun to OC (got mine to 3ghz using just the 3-fan design and no voltage mods). The first build picture you'll see is my AM4 build using this card, and the performance was extremely smooth. The second picture is my AM5 build (Crosshair x670e Extreme + 7950x). I mention this fact because I recommend anyone ... MoreFirst and foremost, let's start with the obvious fact: this thing is HUGE. I mention this fact because I recommend anyone going the AM5 route to do a bios update before attempting to use a 40 series GPU. I had stability issues until I did the Asus bios update that mentioned 40 series support (also helped me run my ram at the proper XMP profile).I am a huge fan of this GPU, but I am definitely sad EVGA is gone. It would've been nice to add another K|NGP|N to the collection.
