This phone is garbage for the price you pay! The cameras suck the screen keeps freezing! I have to restart the phone like 3 times a day because of the screen freezing

One does not need to be a gamer to appreciate this phone. The fantastic battery capacity of 6000mAh provides plenty of battery life, especially if one makes use of battery life extending features such as reducing the screen refresh rate. The battery care features -- slowing down the charge rate and putting a cap on the maximum charge -- work very well. Even with a slowed down charging rate this phone recharges incredibly fast with the provided 65W charger. The OLED display delivers deep blacks and provides a very nice touch. No notch, no punch hole, no tear drop or anything like that gets in the way of enjoying the full display. Sound is incredibly rich, i.e., delivers actual low frequencies, from both symmetrically arranged stereo speakers. I've only had the phone in use for a few days so cannot speak to the actual battery life but from what I read, it is excellent.The air triggers are not only great for gaming -- assigning them to zones on the display where they emulate a touch works very nicely and gives one a full view of the screen without hands partially obstructing it -- but also serve other purposes, such as taking a screenshot when you squeeze the phone. All such features are highly configurable, so if you want to turn on the torch by squeezing the phone or with a double tap on the back, for instance, you can.The few downsides are: The display changes colour temperature with the viewing angle. This is less than ideal for people who are looking for accurate colour reproduction. The camera hardware as such is probably fine, but the image processing is definitely not as good as in other phones. If you want pictures that look polished straight from the camera, there are better choices available. Perhaps using a different camera app may help. There is next to no bloatware on the phone but a few apps cannot be uninstalled. Disabling them is the most one can do. The standard clock widgets do not offer a plain font. To get a neutral look on the home screen, one has to install an extra clock widget app. The Asus UI offers multiple views, though, and if one wants to avoid a "gamery" look, it is certainly possible with very little effort.Overall, this is a very nice phone which has many attractive features even for non-gamers. As long as one is not put off by the weight and size of this phone, it is an excellent daily driver with a remarkable battery capacity and unusually great sound for a smart phone.

Don't waste your time or money, Buy a Galaxy.

If you want a powerful android phone, look towards Samsung. If you want a portable gaming device, get a laptop or a Switch. The phone is powerful and has great picture and sound, and that's where it ends. Coming from a galaxy, this phone feels more like an iPhone than an android, vague similarities to my Note 20 Ultra 5G, but way more "swipe" movements (3 together which tend to pose an issue) . Very little in the way of customization, Can't organize your apps (no filters/sorting available), maybe a total of 20 themes to choose from, minimal options for the choices you are given. More recently the apps are unresponsive from 30sec+ or they just completely crash entirely. Most recently it crashed while sending a text, which resulted in me having to restart the phone, which lasted almost 7mins before the phone finally restarted and was able to be turned on and go through the start up sequence. There is also 0 ASUS products and 0 Third party products that utilize this phones features and offer better protection then cell phone case that they come with (which is literarily a thin plastic shell, meant to protect from scratches not drops.) Unfortunately this phone has me so frustrated from the amount I spent on it, that I can't clearly list all the things wrong with it. If you want it for the accessories, good luck getting color match, if that's not an issue then be ready to spend over 1500 for a portable gaming device that gets 2-3hours of play time, HAS TO HAVE FAN to run at potential, HAS TO HAVE CHARGER 65W+ to run longer than that 2-3hours, and won't be able to run simple cellphone apps like text messages.

Great

Bought the phone on release and it works really nice, the specs are top tier. Most games work at ultra graphics and with good FPS, even better with the Air Cooler (was on deal). Battery holds up fine while gaming for several hours and even so, the charging is really fast.

It is really cool smartphone.

Smartphone Asus rog phone 5S is really cool. I have not seen such high-quality photos in any phone. Night mode is simply amazing, absolute sharpness in complete darkness. Capacious battery. Unfortunately, it does not work with CDMA networks - Verizon in USA. I am very happy with this phone.

Pro gamer phone

Loads faster than my wife's iPhone 12 Pro Max. Air triggers work on point and are a great aid when gaming. Not sure if its a feature, but apparebtly it remembers your screens brightness whenever you open a game. Great graphics, little to no lag. Camera is definitrly better than my wife's iPhone 12 pro max. Fast charging actually takes about 40 minutes to fully charge my phone from 5%. Finger scanner does not work with any screen protector I've tried so far, but it does have face recognition. Also, it arrived two days before expected.
