By far the best laptop I have owned. Downloading games has been a breeze and super quick, also downloading regular apps that have taken minutes on another laptop has only taken seconds on this one. We could argue that it's the WiFi that helps the downloads but on my old laptop I was using the exact same WiFi.That's only the downloads, the actual games themselves? Depends on how big the GB the game uses but for me, the biggest game I've downloaded so far has been 55GB, it has not affected the function, it took the matter of 5 minutes (if that but I'm rounding it up to the nearest minute). The gameplay is stunning, the graphics amazing due to the Nvidia. The only thing I could argue is the price, but in reality there are far more expensive brands out there that would not hold up to the ASUS ROG Strix. All in all, I'm super happy with my product. Not only is it great for gaming but with the app I use for my 3D printer it starts up in 3 seconds (last laptop took about 2 minutes and even crashed sometimes, and it wasn't a cheap laptop at that). I think as a gaming laptop it holds up but even for a working laptop or just general usage it would be more than enough to do it all.I haven't even mentioned how it looks, the colour is vibrant on the keyboard, the laptop itself feels super smooth. The downside is that I've noticed so far is that it's quite heavy, the charger is even more so. Another downside is the lights on the keyboard turn off when the keys or mouse pad hasn't been touched, they do come straight back on of course but I would love them to stay on all the time! (Unless I just haven't figured out how to do that yet)

This is my second Asus Strix and it's amazing. Lightning fast, easy to set up, a huge 2TB harddrive (which is double what most other places are selling in this model!) - plus very easy to upgrade in future by opening the laptop up. There are guides to follow on YouTube for this but it's almost as easy as plug-and-play to add more RAM and HDD space, which is impressive.Armoury Crate (Asus's built-in software) allows easy customisation of everything - keyboard lighting, key remapping, how hard you want the laptop to work (depending on what you're doing - gaming, work, streaming etc). The keyboard is nice to use, although fair warning the shift key is shorter than normal, which takes a bit of getting used to.The laptop itself is solid and on the heavy side, but ... MoreThis is my second Asus Strix and it's amazing. The keyboard is nice to use, although fair warning the shift key is shorter than normal, which takes a bit of getting used to.The laptop itself is solid and on the heavy side, but nothing you wouldn't expect for a high-end gaming machine. Even running resource-intensive games, I haven't noticed the laptop getting overally warm, provided it is set up on a flat surface to allow ventilation. Asus have really done a great job on improving the internal cooling since my previous laptop. The physical design is very nice - subtle markings showing it's a gaming computer without going over the top (unlike my previous model from 2019). The screen is beautiful - really vibrant and easy to look at for long periods of time.If you're wanting a gaming machine you can take with you to work, uni, on holidays and to friends houses, this is a fantastic option. Just make sure you pack your power adapter if you're planning on gaming, as the performance is automatically lowered if running on battery, which is noticeable in resource-heavy games. One last big plus is that Asus give you one repair free in the first 12 months, including screen repair or other physical damage. Definitely check this out as it gives great peace-of-mind.In summary, for the price (especially if you can get it during a sale period!) this laptop is a great choice. The specs are awesome, the screen is beautiful and Asus have really kept gamers front-and-centre when designing this machine. You won't regret this purchase!
Solid build quality, looks great (RGB a particularly nice feature), and performs well whilst remaining relatively quiet. SDD not the fastest and maximum screen resolution limited to 1920x1200, but gaming still a pleasurable experience and even demanding games run smoothly.I bought for use primarily for use with DJ software and calculation of stems, which requires high GPU processing; this has exceeded my expectations and outperforms my ASUS desktop running a 3070Ti, to my surprise. The 16" screen is just about right for portability. I needed a larger screen, having struggled with the font size on my previous laptop with a 12.3" screen, and considered a 17" or 18" screen; however, I am finding the 16" more than adequate and a happy compromise. On the whole, I am ... MoreSolid build quality, looks great (RGB a particularly nice feature), and performs well whilst remaining relatively quiet. I wish the screen was a 15"-17" monitor but overall this is a solid, well-built, not the fastest but def fast for what it costs and it's size. I got this through my online college (Post University) they charge me $392 that I have taken out my financial aid, and, I think it's way too overpriced! I looked this laptop up on Amazon and found it BRAND NEW for $250! Honestly, now it's probably cheaper! I like Asus and other than the monitor size this is a good laptop for my online college work, recording my podcast I'm about to finally start up (DT N The 423) & me and my best friend are starting (R!ot The Podcast), recording me playing drums, other instruments that my buddies play. Bought the computer in Feb. Didn't know that it was the only brand ever to not have at least a year warranty. By June I was experiencing issues where it would blue screen if unplugged. Then suddenly in August I typed in my password loaded my desktop smelled burning eith no temp coming from the device. And everything went black earning me the most expensive paperweight I've ever purchased. Called asus. After 2 weeks of testing each component to figure out the issue, turns out that I bought a faulty device. My mother board wasn't completely functional from the start and is now completely fried. Cost to repair? Pretty much what I paid for the entire laptop in Feb. This was my first and last asus. Someone would literally have to give me one for me to ever have another one. This entire pro ess has been stressful and excruciating. Unfortunately for me I need a laptop for work. Lucky for the, the repair shop was able to pull my save files off of the asus paperweight. And just a note, when I brought the Computer in the repair shop was confused until I told them what happened. Because they said it looked so new and well taken care if that I must have just pulled it out of the box. It was kept in perfect ideal conditions and didn't even have so much as dust on the inside of it. No reason for this to have happened.
Admittedly I have just procured this laptop and have limited experience at the moment but given initial impressions, I am confident this ASUS laptop will not prove a disappointment. While generally I have owned Sony and Dell laptops, I was tempted by a recent sale and the price considering the features was irresistible.I was ecstatic with the problem-free, fast and easy initial setup. Aesthetically the colour (dark grey) and style are very pleasing. The unit provides a little party at startup and then is ready to provide excellent performance. The display is sharp and clear with good colour rendition. Being a touch typist, I appreciate the tactile response of the keyboard, and with the lighting and effects it looks as good as it performs. In a world that all too ... MoreAdmittedly I have just procured this laptop and have limited experience at the moment but given initial impressions, I am confident this ASUS laptop will not prove a disappointment. I am frankly amazed at how this unit remains silent while managing heat. Kudos to ASUS on its ROG STRIX laptop.

I've had this laptop for a few months now and overall I'm quite satisfied with it!I got this laptop primarily for video editing, which it has been great for. Minimal preview lag and fast render times. The lack of a numpad and single volume keys are very appreciated. The colours are also very vibrant - I immediately noticed the difference compared to my previous laptop. The amount of available storage is also a godsend honestly. It's also performed well when gaming. I've had no issues running anything from Stardew Valley to Red Dead Redemption II.The only things of note are that the AC adaptor makes noticeable electronic sounds (though I have to sit it on my desk for my current setup so it is close by) and that the laptop itself sometimes has some noticeable ... MoreI've had this laptop for a few months now and overall I'm quite satisfied with it!I got this laptop primarily for video editing, which it has been great for. Not necessarily a criticism because it's impossible to avoid that completely, but something worth noting if that's a dealbreaker. From research it seems to vary from model to model.
