I highly recommend this product if you’re looking for a good, high quality gaming laptop for a non-professional gamer (that is, I believe it is suitable for MOST gamers). If you’re just looking for a web-browsing laptop or for something for school, this is overkill for you. The ASUS ROG Strix G16 is a very solid gaming laptop. It has excellent graphics owing to its Nvidia 4070 video card, good processing power and memory, and handles modern games very well. I recently built a high-end gaming PC, and so far it runs games similarly to that much more expensive PC, though I can’t say how long that will last for. For right now, the laptop can run new games on high-end settings. For right now, the laptop can run new games on high-end settings. I was able to game online with my friends quite easily, running maximum settings on Helldivers 2, and it runs Starfield quite well too. I did notice a FEW hiccups in gameplay, mostly graphics and processing related, but only because I was looking for them. I would recommend this gaming laptop for anyone looking for a portable gaming rig that doesn’t want to sacrifice on quality. I wouldn’t recommend it for a professional gamer, but that’s to be expected, so no points lost there in my opinion. The only complaints I have are those that you’d expect looking at the specs – mainly, it’s a 15” rather than a 17” and I prefer a bigger screen, but you know what you’re getting when you order that, so again, no points lost there. I’d like there to be more USB ports – there are two regular USB ports – but again, you can find that out just looking at it.

So normally I would never go for a gaming laptop, because in the past I’ve had so many issues with consistent performance with most games, overheating, and worst of all the loud fans that run nonstop. I was very skeptical that this was going to be any different, but am ridiculously surprised at how it’s been performing.I’ll start off by talking about the cosmetics. The lights are so vibrant and bright, I had to turn them down to make sure they didn’t drain the battery or blind me, but they are so nice to look at. And the clear keys (space bar, QWERASDF) make it look even nicer. It also has a light strip under it that projects the color out. Materials feel premium too, the outside is aluminum and has a great feeling matte finish to it.Of course people care more ... MoreSo normally I would never go for a gaming laptop, because in the past I’ve had so many issues with consistent performance with most games, overheating, and worst of all the loud fans that run nonstop. Materials feel premium too, the outside is aluminum and has a great feeling matte finish to it.Of course people care more about performance, so I started off with something small, league of legends. It’s a game I play frequently, but usually have to play on middle-low graphics for it to run well on my current PC. This thing ran it on the highest settings with consistent fps at 60 (capped). Uncapped it was able to hit about 230. League isn’t a game that requires much but it’s where I usually start testing.I played some Fortnite, daemon x machina, gundam, and various other games that all ran smoothly as well. The toughest test would be Elden ring, that game runs so rough on my current set up it’s unplayable. On this beast I was able to run it smoothly. FPS would fluctuate between 70-80 but stayed consistent even during some intense boss fights.Needless to say it can run games well, now to address my previous concerns. Overheating wasn’t an issue at all, in fact the part I can’t get over is how quiet the fans stayed. I didn’t have to switch to turbo mode for any of the games I played, but even when it’s on, the fans are nowhere near as loud as my Alienware laptop. That thing sounds like a jet engine when they kick on. This Asus stayed quiet enough where it wouldn’t disturb anyone around me or myself, ran everything I threw at it, and is so aesthetically pleasing I’m definitely changing my opinion on gaming laptops. It runs smoother than my current gaming PC and will become my new daily gaming unit.Go look at one in person, test it out in stores, and watch some other reviews. You won’t be disappointed.

By far the best laptop I have owned. Downloading games has been a breeze and super quick, also downloading regular apps that have taken minutes on another laptop has only taken seconds on this one. Depends on how big the GB the game uses but for me, the biggest game I've downloaded so far has been 55GB, it has not affected the function, it took the matter of 5 minutes (if that but I'm rounding it up to the nearest minute). The only thing I could argue is the price, but in reality there are far more expensive brands out there that would not hold up to the ASUS ROG Strix. All in all, I'm super happy with my product. Not only is it great for gaming but with the app I use for my 3D printer it starts up in 3 seconds (last laptop took about 2 minutes and even crashed sometimes, and it wasn't a cheap laptop at that). I think as a gaming laptop it holds up but even for a working laptop or just general usage it would be more than enough to do it all.I haven't even mentioned how it looks, the colour is vibrant on the keyboard, the laptop itself feels super smooth. The downside is that I've noticed so far is that it's quite heavy, the charger is even more so. Another downside is the lights on the keyboard turn off when the keys or mouse pad hasn't been touched, they do come straight back on of course but I would love them to stay on all the time! (Unless I just haven't figured out how to do that yet)

Battery life lasts pretty long as long as you put the computer in sleep mode. Just closing the lid does not put the computer to sleep. Display Quality is really good. I am an owner of 2 Ark servers so I solely use gaming PC's to admin on Ark and use discord to communicate with the players I'm helping in game. As shown in the video when putting levels in the screen glitches. I don't have this issue on any other games I play so I do not know what causes that and I don't think it's because of the PC. This PC works perfect to admin / run the server. Keys are soft and easy pressed, the keys lighting up makes it nice to use at night especially if you're next to someone who is trying to sleep. ( Not sure if there is a setting or not for this but just something I noticed while on ark) Over all this will definitely help me keep my servers running when I'm away. I would suggest getting more memory for it. Over all it does what I need it to do and would definitely recommend it for those who are wanting a gaming laptop for being on the go.

Great gaming laptop that worth the price

Alright, let's dive into this gaming laptop I've been using. First off, it looks pretty slick. The metal top gives it a solid feel, and the soft finish inside it’s a nice touch.Typing on it feels surprisingly good. The keys have this satisfying click to them, and the backlit keyboard is a nice bonus. Plus, the trackpad is big and responsive, which is always a win. Now, let's talk ports. It's got a decent selection: 2 USB-C, 2 USBs, HDMI, and an internet port. Pretty standard, but gets the job done. The screen is where this thing really shines. It's vibrant, and that 244Hz refresh rate makes gaming feel super smooth. And speaking of gaming, it handles pretty much anything I throw at it without breaking a sweat. It'll last a few hours of casual browsing, but don't expect it to go all day without a charge.Overall, I'm pretty happy with it. It's got the looks, the performance, and enough features to keep me satisfied.

After 2 weeks of testing each component to figure out the issue, turns out that I bought a faulty device. My mother board wasn't completely functional from the start and is now completely fried. Cost to repair? Pretty much what I paid for the entire laptop in Feb. This was my first and last asus. Someone would literally have to give me one for me to ever have another one. This entire pro ess has been stressful and excruciating. Unfortunately for me I need a laptop for work. Lucky for the, the repair shop was able to pull my save files off of the asus paperweight. And just a note, when I brought the Computer in the repair shop was confused until I told them what happened. Because they said it looked so new and well taken care if that I must have just pulled it out of the box. It was kept in perfect ideal conditions and didn't even have so much as dust on the inside of it. No reason for this to have happened.

ROG Strix G16...i9 14900.
27 May 2024

Having decided to treat myself to a decent gaming laptop. I spent several days reading online reviews of several makes and models. I already own the brilliant Asus ROG Ally and felt confident that an Asus device would be the way to go.Several online retailers offer this laptop but decided to go with Currys local store. Delivered 2 days later with no issues.I have to say, this laptop does not disappoint.First impressions are important. It arrives beautifully packaged in a cleverly designed box which literally, presents the laptop to you on opening.Build quality is good with the ROG logo etched into the matt finish of the case, and further discrete design flashes on the keyboard area. For anyone who uses a ROG rig then you will be used to the Armoury crate user ... MoreHaving decided to treat myself to a decent gaming laptop. Which allows you to tweak all aspects of your device, from cpu and fan speeds and Aura lighting effects. Which gives you the option of showing off the clever lighting effects of the keyboard, and the case edge lights....very nice.Setup of the laptop is straightforward and surprisingly fast. I had it up and running with latest updates etc in about 30 to 40 minutes.I've recently returned to playing Fallout 4, as have many following the cracking Amazon series. Playing it on the Asus ROG laptop is awesome. The graphics are running at Ultra level. The colours are rich and vibrant and the sound is fantastic. The fans and cooling appear really good, and you definitely get the impression the laptop is barely breaking into a sweat, and is capable of a lot more.I'm still playing and learning to tweak a host of settings, but so far I have to say I'm impressed and very pleased with my new laptop. Time to download a few more games and see if I can push the laptop to see what its capable of.

Silence is Golden

Admittedly I have just procured this laptop and have limited experience at the moment but given initial impressions, I am confident this ASUS laptop will not prove a disappointment. While generally I have owned Sony and Dell laptops, I was tempted by a recent sale and the price considering the features was irresistible.I was ecstatic with the problem-free, fast and easy initial setup. Aesthetically the colour (dark grey) and style are very pleasing. The unit provides a little party at startup and then is ready to provide excellent performance. The display is sharp and clear with good colour rendition. Being a touch typist, I appreciate the tactile response of the keyboard, and with the lighting and effects it looks as good as it performs. In a world that all too ... MoreAdmittedly I have just procured this laptop and have limited experience at the moment but given initial impressions, I am confident this ASUS laptop will not prove a disappointment. I am frankly amazed at how this unit remains silent while managing heat. Kudos to ASUS on its ROG STRIX laptop.

The Perfect Laptop for Power Users
6 October 2024

I got my G614JU recently and am totally impressed. The laptop has exceeded my expectations in every way. It is very powerful, handling any work that I might toss at it, whether that be coding, playing games, or using this laptop for graphic design. Really fast, especially when working with large renderings, which it handles smoothly. This means the G614JU will be a powerhouse both in performance and looks. I like quality sound greatly since it makes working or gaming so much more immersive, standing apart from other laptops.Overall, the G614JU offers everything I need. From 3D modeling to running demanding applications, this laptop gets the job done fast and without issues. I am thoroughly satisfied with this replacement and can highly recommend it for people who ... MoreI got my G614JU recently and am totally impressed. Unstable laptop with constant errors
8 August 2024

If I could give this zero stars, I would. I've bought this laptop because I have heard how good it was. Once I bought it, I quickly realized how wrong I was. The laptop is ungodly unstable with constant errors, application crashes and blue screens.I have bought this back in April, and I needed a laptop because I will be traveling to another state to help my sister with her health situation. This laptop was for productivity with a little bit of light gaming. The MAJOR problem with this laptop is that it has the i9-14900HX cpu. Because of the 14th gen cpu, my laptop frequently crashes during updates, applications and gaming. I also tend to game with the settings LOWERED, but this laptop still seems to crash without fail. Because of the 14th gen cpu, my laptop frequently crashes during updates, applications and gaming. I also tend to game with the settings LOWERED, but this laptop still seems to crash without fail. Any effort to curb the errors have been for naught, and I am incredibly stressed out on trying to keep this piece of machine stable. I also happen to have some knowledge about PCs, and I am 100% certain that the processor of this laptop is preventing it from functioning properly. The instability gets worse as the months pass. It is now August 8 and my head is spinning on how many times applications on this machine crashes. Now I'm stuck in a different state with an unstable laptop that I can barely use. I have the reliability monitor photo to show it too. Not a single day goes by without something breaking!I will warn ANY potential buyer from buying this piece of equipment. The stability will get WORSE. Unless you want an expensive paperweight, I would AVOID THIS LAPTOP AT ALL COSTS!
