Let me get this out of the way. Yes, you can use AMD with this product even though it says G-Sync. Looking everywhere for a Freesync monitor that I like, no such luck lol. I've turned variable backlight off since it was lightning up columns of light when hovering the mouse over darker zones. This monitor is one of the highest end high refresh dedicated g sync unit 2k monitor. And it shows the build quality is great and the panel looks fantastic. The reason I give it four stars is bc this is my second monitor. The first had some dead pixels and the gsync unit was not working properly. I didn’t have a warranty from where I bought it so I had to go into a 6 month process with Asus trying to get a replacement. Eventually they bought I back from me. Since it is such a high end monitor get a warranty from microcenter. It is 100% worth the 80 bucks

Now as graphics design and gamer on the side, it was incredibly hard to find a 2K monitor that would suit for my daily creative works with critical accurate color, and being able to game smoothly at the same time so I'm very surprised with the color gamut it provided + Dedicated sRGB mode which I absolutely appreciated the QM having it, covering 99% Adobe RGB, Racing mode is most calibrated, super close to match with my Wacom Cintiq Pro 16. What makes this even better is to have that color range at 144Hz with a Gsync physical module to get 10, 12 bit color as well, and I dont mind it not being 240Hz (have used AW2521HF) since I'm not playing competitive game that ... Another small thing thats not neccesary bother is black looks gray in a dark room but thats the nature of IPS until theres a miniLED model of this or somewhat similar I will love Asus more.
My previous monitor was a 60 Hz Samsung gaming, 1/2 the price of this one, but I can certainly tell the difference, both externally and picture wise. The bezels are super thin (except on bottom), easily adjusted without tools to tilt forward/backward, rotate 90 degrees, raise and lower. My Samsung had none of those features. The games look glorious and the RGB backlight, while not very bright, is a nice touch. The base is very heavy, so this thing is not toppling over easily when rotated as well. I would purchase again.

Blacks were blacker, reds and greens and pretty much everything just looks better on the gigabyte.I wanted to force myself to pick the Asus over the Gigabyte because of the build, brand reputation and dedicated G-sync with the Asus but the Gigabyte outperforms it in every aspect, aside from refresh rate, but that's the 4K vs 1440p resolution debate.One screaming flaw that the Asus has is the horrible local dimming. when the screen is black, and you move the mouse pointer across it, there are maybe only a dozen local dimming zones, and each of them turns the entire vertical bar of that zone a brighter hue as the cursor moves across the panel.The gigabyte isn't noticeable in the slightest. Horizontal or vertical. And it's a much cheaper display, so Asus really crapped the bed with that.Now the reason that someone obviously used to return this one, is that near the top left of the screen there's a splotchy edge-lighting issue. Not noticeable in-game, but as soon as it gets into a dark scene in a video, there it is.So Geek Squad Certified means they turn it on and it works so they turn it off and say it's good. They clearly aren't testing things to the level that they need to be tested for buyers such as you and I, who are paying top dollar for the best product available, and we're picky about it performing up to it's dollar value.I'll be returning this one, and trusting the next one they have will actually fit the bill from the Geek Squad certification, unless they're going to ship me a brand new one.I should probably just keep the Gigabyte 4K 144 Hz, but most games won't get that frame rate at max settings, and I don't like turning down settings just to improve smoothness.
Extremely well packaged.Superb construction, the monitor feels beefy.The onscreen menu is easy to navigate thanks to the little joystick-like knob.Brilliant colors and options, been using at 144hz with HDR on. Zero issues.The RGB on the back of the monitor is a bit wasted, but it actually serves as a fun night light against the wall. You can control it easily via Asus Armory software, or just turn it off altogether via the monitor menu.
