Loved the keyboard. Actuation point is 1.8 which is not too mushy as 1.5. Therefore no miss pressings.Lights are little dimmer than the scope 2 RX but acceptable. There ia still no update on the aura sync option for this keyboard to customize the lighting effects manually, so have to stick with the presets from armoury create, but forums says the update will be coming sometime in February 2024, waiting for that.Good thing is, this keyboard is supported with the dynamic lighting from windows 11 now as they just released an update for dynamic lighting. So if anyone doesn't wana use armoury crate, can stick with windows dynamic lighting.Price is little expensive though, but the features that the keyboard is offering, it's worthy.Overall, I liked the really ... MoreLoved the keyboard. This is overall an excellent keyboard. I use it primarily for office productivity and web work. The keys are excellent, feel solid, with great tactile feedback, and lite to moderate sound. The overall keyboard is well built, solid and heavy. O the connection options the wired works well, as does the included USB dongle. I have not tried bluetooth so no comment on that. The only real challenge is with the sw - Armory Crate can use more refinement; if you have that already installed (say you have an ASUS mobo) you have to remove it first, install the version for the keyboard, upgrade the firmware, and then re-install Armoury Crate - and keyboard will be recognized. Like I said, needs improvement. But the keyboard works well, if a bit expensive.

I gotta say, I'm almost a week into owning this keyboard I paid for with money given to me for my birthday : ), and it's been a rocky start. The overall feel and responsiveness of the switches on this keyboard is amazing(NX Snow). I like the idea of the omni receiver, however, I've only had need of it for my keyboard. I might add a mouse to it down the road. I also like the 96% layout. The reason I'm disappointed in selecting this keyboard is the lack of support to use Asus' Aura Creator for custom lighting of the keyboard's RGB. There is no support. When you go to Asus' Aura Creator website, the ROG Strix Scope II 96 Wireless is missing from the list of compatible keyboards. When you go to Asus' Aura Creator website, the ROG Strix Scope II 96 Wireless is missing from the list of compatible keyboards. I'm coming from using an OLD Corsair K70 keyboard where I could EASILY assign lighting profiles that matched the layout of keys I use in many of my games. With this $150+ keyboard, there is no way for me to highlight those keys. Instead, I'm stuck with the default lighting we get from Armoury Crate. That's not enough considering how much is invested in purchasing this product. And yes, I have followed many of the other frustrated RSSII96W owners in ASUS' forums suggestions, like changing the Window's 11 Dynamic Lighting settings. Aura Creator still doesn't work and it doesn't look like this company is interested in fixing it considering postings for this issue go back almost a year ago. All this being said, IF ASUS would fix my biggest complaint, I would gladly change my score to 5 stars. IF.
Asus did a great job with this keyboard, the switches are great, stabilizers are probably some of the best stock out there, and the size is great being a 96%. The only downside really is Armoury Crate, but we’ll get to that later.Pros:• Switches – These are lubed and stable and definitely some of the best that will come on most keyboards. There is almost no noticeable wobble from the keycaps which is a good sign for the switches, the sound and feel are great too!• Keycaps – They are PBT which is great, so they won’t get that shine over time making them look greasy. If I could change one thing I would like them to be dual-toned like they are on the Azoth, reason being that the F keys are all bunched up at the top and it would be a nice quality of life feature ... MoreAsus did a great job with this keyboard, the switches are great, stabilizers are probably some of the best stock out there, and the size is great being a 96%. If I could change one thing I would like them to be dual-toned like they are on the Azoth, reason being that the F keys are all bunched up at the top and it would be a nice quality of life feature since you would be able to see the split at a glance. If Asus made an after market set for this board with the function legends I would buy them!• Stabilizers – Asus when with their own stabilizers on this keyboard and I think they made a good choice, there was very little rattle (was able to get rid of it by adding a little more lube) and all the keys that use it feel nice and stable, almost like they didn’t have them.• Build Quality – There is no flex to the board and it feels solid all around, even the volume roller and buttons feel satisfying. It’s got an aluminum top and a plastic bottom with 2 stages of height adjustment on the back.• Connectivity – I love that it is wireless, but not for the normal reason. I’ve always hated the pre-attached cables because it can make moving the keyboard a pain if you have to route the wires, I love having USB C! Now the wireless is great too and the dongle fits nicely in the back magnetically, it has Bluetooth as well for additional devices.• The keyboard also includes a wrist rest which is a nice touch. It’s magnetic and has a thin layer of foam with a comfortable leatherette cover. I do wish that the foam was either a little thicker or denser that way you didn’t feel the plastic underneath, but overall a great addition.Cons:• Lighting - Hardware wise I only have 1 complaint, and that would be the RGB. Don’t get me wrong, I love me some RGB but the LEDs that this thing has are a bit dim and can stand to be about 50% brighter. If Asus is worried about battery life then they can have the current brightness under battery power but when plugged in allow it to be brighter.• Armoury Crate – The software has good potential but as of now it feels “beta”. When booting of the system most of the time the Macros I set don’t work, they will show as active within the software but I’ll have to unplug the keyboard several times to get them going again. I use macros for work so I find this quite annoying to have to do nearly every day so I hope they fix it.A miss that I’m seeing with the RGB selection is Per Key Lighting so I hope that they add this going forward. I understand that you can create custom lighting where you can do this via Aura Creator but it does have drawbacks. First drawback is that if you connect the keyboard to something else it will not load your set lighting and you will have to go back into the software to re-enable Aura Sync to get it going again. The next drawback is when you are running from Aura Sync you loose the ability to control the brightness using the keyboard. The last drawback I can think of is that if you have an Asus motherboard you have to select the motherboard for lighting with the keyboard, so you can’t create a layout for just the keyboard alone in that case. Conclusion – The pros definitely outweigh the cons and most of which can be fixed with some software updates so I hope these get fixed soon! If you are new to a 96% it is a bit of a learning curve, but worth it as you can keep all the functionality of a full size keyboard at TKL size while still retaining the 10 key. I would recommend this keyboard overall!
This is my first venture into decent keyboards and after a bit of research I decided on this for a few reasons, It gets good reviews, it has good portability and has all the other features I was wanting. It feels well built and sturdy. Mine came with matte PBS keycaps which give it a really nice premium feel. The switches are the true show stopper for me. They are really smooth, very responsive and have a beautiful thocky sound that is incredibly satisfying. The Bluetooth and wireless work seamlessly and provide excellent response times and the ability to have all 3 connections is really useful when travelling around with it.The per key RGB lighting looks great and syncs well with other devices without any issues.Overall I am really pleased with this product ... MoreThis is my first venture into decent keyboards and after a bit of research I decided on this for a few reasons, It gets good reviews, it has good portability and has all the other features I was wanting. It feels well built and sturdy. Keybaord itself is great, typing on it is very comfortable, keys are very nice with a good sound. As a stand alone prodcut it might be fine and worth it but i purchased it along w a asus mouse for the onni reciever. Both where plug and play but setting up the omni reciever was a pain. Once paird on the software i couldnt open the keyboard or mouse for any settings. I had to delete it, and download a separate software first then re download the aurmory crate software. Things worked for a couple days untill i tried to log in and my keyboard wasnt working. Had to plug in a different keyboard since hardwire or 2.4 wasnt working. Bought this Asus Rog Strix Scope II 96 as I just built a new PC. The Thock from the keys is better than my old keyboard with cherry red. when using late at night its quiet so wont disturb people. The software is in armoury crate so everything is in one place on my Asus build. not sure I should have bought the 96 wireless version (but got it £144 in sale) and the full 100% wired would of been better. Hence leaving it in wired mode with no dongle in PC. only problem with this is its constantly charging.(will this damage anything?) Maybe when other products become available with compatibility on the Wi-Fi sharing (only one mouse at time of writing) then I would use it with mouse and keyboard.Has a Wi-Fi extender to plug into charging cable (great idea) storage for the ... MoreBought this Asus Rog Strix Scope II 96 as I just built a new PC. As someone who had never used a mechanical keyboard before, this feels like quite the leap. It feels so nice. My previous keyboard was a full size board, so the change from that to this smaller 75% board is taking some getting used to.It's very compact, but also quite heavy. I love that you can use this in either wireless, bluetooth or wired modes and, while I haven't tried it, I believe it allows the ability to effectively connect 5 different devices (3 via bluetooth, one for wireless and one wired) and swapping between modes with the switch on the back. The 2.4Ghz wireless dongle in the back of the keyboard was a little bit tricky to remove with my big fingers and no ridges or even dimples made it hard to get a good grip on it with fingernails. The OLED screen ... MoreAs someone who had never used a mechanical keyboard before, this feels like quite the leap. Speaking of gifs: The pixel area is something small, like 260x56px, so finding gifs that will fit onto the screen properly is difficult and you will most likely be cropping them and hoping the best parts fit in the rectangle field. The Armoury Crate software makes it super easy to preview and change the images, though, and has a few default animations to choose from. I would like to see ROG perhaps add more animations that are made to fit into the OLED screen field in the future. The screen is also black and white. Images and animations do look great on the screen, however I would have preferred a colour screen, or at least the option to switch it between black and white or colour if this was an aesthetics choice by ASUS. And while we're on the topic of colour, the LED lighting is nice and bright with quite a few options to choose from in the software to customise to your liking. The ability to sync the lighting to other compatible devices is something I will probably be looking forward to utilising in the future, too.Being fully customisable is probably the main attraction of the keyboard. The package comes with a full station equipped with tools for removing keycaps and switches, as well as a few spare switches to practice taking apart and putting back together, or adding extra lube, with the tools provided in the box. Whilst I don't think I will be swapping out or modifying this board soon, as I'm enjoying it as it is. it is great that the option is there should I want to venture into the world of keyboard modifying and I'm sure it's one that the hardcore enthusiasts out there will appreciate.Overall the keyboard feels great, it looks great, the keycaps feel slightly textured and not as slippery as some other keyboards I've used and the lights are bright and clear and typing feels like a much nicer experience than what I've been used to with membrane keyboards in the past. I would certainly recommend this keyboard to other people. It's a great little unit.
Absolutely loving my new ASUS ROG Scope II 96 keyboard. This is my first time getting into a less-than-full-size keyboard and so far I've been enjoying this form factor. Feels much more compact without losing any important keys, and frees up quite a bit more desk space. Using this keyboard for home office / casual gaming environment, the NX Snow switches feel excellent. They feel very responsive, linear with just a hint of tactility, but also very quiet for heads down daily grinding through documents and emails. I was able to crank out one of the best typing speed scores I've ever gotten. Best Buy sent me the PBT keycap version which I'm super happy with and arguably the better of the two keycap options. Battery life has been great, charged literally once after unboxing and now its been a couple weeks and battery is still at 70%. I really like that the keyboard is smart enough to detect when its not in use and to disable RGB for conserving battery. Included wrist rest feel quite comfortable and I use it often while working. Highly recommend this keyboard, the price tag is on the steeper side, but the product definitely feels worth it.
