Bought this to extend the wireless network in my home after we got a new service provider and my router had to move to the basement. This extender works awesome at giving good speeds around the home. I am using AiMesh and it works great on switch to the best AP, the ethernet port on the extender does indeed work as a wired backhaul if you are using AiMesh.

Excellent extender. Easy set up. Just plug int the wall. Fast. Meshing with ROG Rapture GT-AX6000. This is my second one. Easily doubled my coverage area.
I have an ASUS router that supports AiMesh. I bought this to extend the range, and it worked perfectly. It was simple to set up with my existing router, it took about 5 minutes. Since my network was already set up, I just used the phone app to configure it to be part of the same network I already had set up, and since then I've basically forgotten about it, which is pretty much the highest praise for something like this.
I bought a new Asus gaming router, but it didn’t reach far enough. This served the purpose, exactly as advertised and extended the network by another 500 ft.² at least. Would definitely recommend for use with Asus router. No complaints.
This product was so simple to install I actually just plugged it in close to my router and it installed in about 30 minutes start to finish, I absolutely love this product!
Got this unit to replace a failing RP-AC55. After what took several hours to try to link to my router, it worked. As others have reported, the setup instructions are absolute junk. The ONLY way to get the unit to link with my ASUS AC1900 was to press the Reset button on the extender. Once I did that, it immediately linked.Hopefully this one lasts longer than the AC55.
After hours of guess work, as the mobile app wouldn't connect and the web site provided in the instructions is no longer valid, it seems I managed to get the device operating. However, without the app or the website available you cannot fully configure the device.
