The hardware shipped in the box that says AiMesh all over it does not actually support AiMesh. If you want to use AiMesh or even use the router at a decent speed, you first need to figure out how to upgrade the firmware, which is more difficult than it sounds. It is appalling that they are selling a product that does not match what is on the outside of the box. Wifi was 50-100mbps out of the box but after upgrading went up to over 500mbps. AiMesh is also available only after upgrading. So anyway after upgrading, it works very well. Also: don't try using it for VPN. I tried setting up a VPN, using all 3 types that it supplied, but it was useless. Good router, a little tricky to set up on Vodafone Fibre but other than that great ranch. Firware interface and app are easy to use for newbies and advanced configurations. Good range and has WPA3 encryption.

Sadly, after several weeks of struggling to get this unit to play nicely in an AI Mesh, I traded it in for an RT-AX3000 which works perfectly. THe RT-AX54HP kept crashing with segmentation violations. This could have been a hardware problem in the unit supplied, but the whole unit seemed flaky right from the start. Thanks to the staff at PB who accepted my return, and trade-up. I'm now a happy customer.

As per another review on here - you need to update the firmware of this router to enable AIMesh capability. That in itself is a bit of a nightmare. After much frustration through this process, the AIMesh setup itself was unlocked and setup from there was pretty easy. Suggest using an ethernet backhaul if you can, that's enabled 500Mbps + wifi speeds around the house now!Would recommend this for sure - just know it's not quite plug and play.
Coverage is adequate, bought it to cover my garage and backyard area. AX band different to my high end router hence no seamless transition of WIFI. Once connected good performance within a 10m radius. Given the price range this is a good router for a small area with low network expectations.
I bought this as an affordable WIFI-6 router to use as an access point for a dedicated 5ghz connection to my quest 2 headset for wireless airlink streaming. It works great - originally intended to use it in the room right next to it, but I've found that the 5ghz connection is even able to persist through two walls to an adjacent room as well, which was a great surprise. On sale, this is a great router to use as an additional access point.
Purchased 1 month ago after continual drop outs from a 6-month old expensive router that didn't like summer days. The ASUS doesn't mind the heat, and hasn't dropped out once. It recovered perfectly after a blackout too. I'm very happy with the value - it was 1/3 the cost of my last router, and seems to work even better.
I will be returning this, it is terrible. Signal drops below usable at a 5m radius and it can't support multiple audio devices streaming (this includes wired devices) without significant loss.
Needed a wifi6 router for my Quest2 headset so I can play PC VR wirelessly. Works like a charm.Router config is easy enough. UI is good. Switching between router mode and AP mode is simple enough.Yeah, I'm happy with it.
Super easy to setup. And super easy to navigate through. Was a simple plug in and play on my mobile, no laptop needed. The parental controls are awesome, so if you want limited access for little ones or custom access this is the router for you. Also using this on a HFC connection works amazingly.
