Having exceeded the capacity of a DVD for backups, I've been wrestling with Bluray for a while. After buying some USB Bluray drives that didn't burn I now have something that works.

Good external recorder. Of course, compared to a regular PC recorder, it has less read and write speed. But this is an insignificant minus. Pros-design, mobility, sufficient for comfortable work characteristics. The main advantage is USB 3.1.

Easy to use light weight and a nice size once i found the player with the codecs needed for playing blu-ray on my laptop enjoyed a quality picture and sound was spot on piece of kit ideal for using when travelling and you dont want to watch tv as for the writer side of it not tried that out yet but if the player side is anything to go by should be as good hope this helps a little
