A solid performance but I hoped for a little more

I upgraded from a 3060 Ti and it is a solid upgrade, no question. It does not live up to nvidia's claim of maxing out my 1440p 144hz monitor. I have to tweak settings to get the best performance out of it. Also in one of my benchmark tests it doesn't even outperform my last card, but I know that is something of a fluke. The reality is my games look amazing, a massive step up in immersion and "real" factor. The physical quality of the card is great as well and have had no problems or crashes etc.

Amazing card! Better than the 3080ti

Great card! Despite the negative reviewers out there saying don't buy... If you skipped the 3080ti and still want that performance plus a little better than that gen... for drastically less money than scalpers are still trying to sell 3080ti cards at scalper prices...This is a card to get for the better cooling, less power usage, and factory overclock to get double the FPS upgrading from a 1080ti at 1440p. If you are looking for a 4k solution you need to hold out for the next generation or go to the 4090 but then your taking $$_... This will do 4k, but you'll be limited in the 60-80 fps range and one your in the 165-175 constant on a g sync, it's hard to go back. I'm running this on a 32 " ROG swift 1440p and it's amazing.

In addition...it boosts to 2780 with no overclock and runs exceptionally cool. At full load and boosting to 2780, the card never exceeds 62C. At the same load, etc...my old 2080 TI would run about 77C. The cooler on this card is incredible. And YES...it plays to some 3090 levels and even some 3090 TI levels. The card was a bit costly, but based on what I am experiencing...it is worth it for this kind of level of performance. Also...the footprint on the 40770 TI is smaller than the 4080 or 4090. Issue with microcenter Fairfax: Bought during launch week, purchased a new one, but found that it had been opened, and used. The power dongle was opened, the peel plastic was all missing. There are even solder pads for the extra RAM modules that aren't there, so maybe there will be a 4070 SUPER that includes them at some point in the future, and the extra mem bandwidth that will come with that, which is currently a bit low for the price point-It is still too large, and blocks even the 3rd PCIe slot, so dont plan on using that, a more sensible cooler should have been made for it-The power connector is not the most brilliant design for a consumer product, its only a 2 8-Pin to 12VHPWR so its OK. Mine has not melted yet, wish me luck. But it does get smashed a bit if you want to put the case side cover on, and of course you do. Plan on getting a 90 degree adapter/custom 12VHPWR cable-Water block vendors aren't rushing to make blocks for it, maybe there will be one in the future from someone, but right now, not possible and EK said it doesn't plan on making one

Eats Ray Traced Frames For BREAKFAST
17 April 2023

Went from a 2060 series and 3060 Hp omen laptop to this. I thought ray tracing would never be worth it, never was I able to turn it on and have a playable frame rate. The rtx 4070ti changed my view. Never will I have to wish I can turn it on, now it’s always on and on max! Plays perfect at 2K and holds its own at 4K as well! Cyberpunk 2077 was the first game I played on it and the visuals were so good, I could not put it down! Only complaint is wish it had some more VRAM, can only put a gig or 2 on re4make for textures as the 12GB is actually around 10. Also it was a pain to set up, pc kept shutting down, had to change setting in bios, still don’t know what actually fixed it but it hasn’t messed up since I fixed the issue. Also the RGB on the gpu won’t stay the color I want. Even though I have asus everything, I have to manually change the color in the asus software everytime I turn my pc on. For that reason, I don’t recommend asus, however the performance is definitely there and the upgrade definitely worth it. When I bought it the rtx 4070 wasn’t out yet, I’d recommend that or a 7700 XT or even the 4080 over this. This was just the cheapest way into the rtx 4000 series at the time. However this card will dabble a little more in 4K than the base 4070. If you just want the best at 2K get it this or the base rtx 4070. If you want 4K I recommend amd rx7700 XTX or 4080.

Expensive but worth it
23 March 2023

Have had this card for about 5 days now and coming from a 3060Ti I'm pretty impressed by its performance. Using it mainly for 1440p and its runs everything i throw at it at 120fps or more. Also despite what people say about not being a 4k card due to its small memory bus and 12 gigs of vram it can certainly still handle native 4k. I had the resident evil 4 demo running above 60 fps native 4k and close to max settings. Sure this card is expensive but beats spending the same amount of money on a last gen 3080ti. Also this card doesn't need a huge power draw. I saw it usually peak at around 250 watts which is a lot less than last gen cards with the same performance. I would say its worth the upgrade even at the price if you're coming from a last gen mid range card ... MoreHave had this card for about 5 days now and coming from a 3060Ti I'm pretty impressed by its performance. I upgraded from a 2070 to this 4070ti and running it with a 9700k on an LG C2 42inch. I wanted a new gpu that supported HDMI 2.1 so that I could play at 4k120hz. I also didn’t want to get a larger card because I only have a 650W PSU.This card truly lives up to the hype that the YouTubers and redditors have created with their hate. Im getting better performance in 4K than I did at 1440p with my 2070.Why anyone would choose to go AMD this gen is beyond me. This card has a superior feature set including DLSS3, frame gen, video upscaling and more. You will probably look up reviews of these features and find endless videos and posts of people saying they’re horrible. Sure the 7900xt is 10% faster in 4K, but getting 77 frames instead of 70 while pulling 350W and reaching 110C is not a good thing. To provide a recent benchmark, I am able to run Hogwarts Legacy with maxed settings in 4K and get 120fps. I’ve never seen this card pull more than 280W so the 750W recommendation is a bit high. The only thing I don’t like is the ASUS software. Armory Crate which is needed to control the RGB lights fails installation every time so I guess I’m stuck with rainbow.

Great for the price

This card received so much hate but 800-850 price point is acceptable for the improvements over the last gen like low power consumption thus lower temperatures and the new gen RT and dlss performance. My friend's 3080ti runs cyberpunk no lower than 80c in a full tower while 4070ti never sees above 65c in a mid tower with the same 1440p RT settings.Yes, it lacks native 4k performance but it is still a mid-range card within the line-up and can easily surpass the last gen's flagship 3090ti at half the msrp

I test with Cpuid Powermax/HWMonitor, GTA5, Red Dead Redemption 2, get Temperatures max GPU - 66.0 c Memory - 70.0 c Hotspot - 77.5 c.The RTX 3000/4000 series need FULL TOWER, no Mid case, with Nortua fans install with direction. I use Lian Li Lancool 215 Atx Full Tower for quality air move.

Despite what you may have heard on YouTube, this is an excellent card. My monitor is 1440p165Hz or 4k60Hz and either way I can cap the frame rate of the monitor at Ultra Settings native resolution on Hogwarts Legacy. 130+ avg 1440p Ultra on MW2 and AC Valhalla. Both of which favor AMD cards over Nvidia. Make no mistake, the card is expensive. But you're getting 3090 Ti gaming, at half the MSRP.
