After using a TV as a screen for the longest time I finally came around to getting a proper gaming monitor. After searching all over I landed on this one. At 165Hz this monitor will provide you with a good 175fps on most games while remaining completely seamless with zero (to minimum depending on the rest of your specs) lag. It’s ultra low blue light meaning it’ll strain your eyes less when looking at it for extended periods of time and has a decent size to it without it being too big. It’s a budget friendly monitor with some great specs and I would gladly recommend it.

This monitor first struck me as the best all rounder there is for the peak of gaming. However, after two weeks of use on my brand new one, it had a stuck pixel that wouldn't go away no matter what. I've sent it for a replacement and the brand new one I received had a stuck pixel showing up after only 2 hours of usage - brand new. I managed to make it go away by shutting down the monitor and rubbing gently on the stuck pixel's area using a tissue. Thought, the monitor keeps getting more and more stuck pixels once every few weeks, which I can solve using the same trick as the first one. My first monitor was also an ASUS and it lasted for 8 years without a single issue. I am much surprised - and disappointed - by this much recent model which should prove to be an all ... After it was determined the device had a possible hardware issue, I received information on where and how to ship the product for repair. Customer service provided me with a mailing label so I didn't incur any shipping costs. I was pleasantly surprised when my product was returned to me so quickly after boxing it up for repair. The monitor has been repaired and it's working beautifully.I have no explanation for why the HDMI port decided to crap out, but I'm glad the situation was addressed quickly. After reading so many horrible reviews from some about the customer service, I'm pleased to report my experience was superior. My issue was handled with professionalism and concern. A+ service all the way!

Very impressive upgrade from my 10-year-old HP 24 monitors. I felt that I needed an upgrade that would both, allow me to work from home (Technical Writer), and to satisfy my gaming needs. I've had these monitors (purchased 2) for a few weeks now and have them set at 120 Hz. They display beautifully and I've had zero tearing within games (G-sync enabled).Video Card: MSI GTX-1060 8Gb DDR5;Software I use daily: MS office Suite, Adobe Creative Cloud;Games I currently Play: State of Decay 2, Diablo III, & Borderlands 3.
I have been using this monitor for a little under a year now. People have a lot of comments about dead pixels, and I was lucky to not have any problems like this. I noticed one stuck pixel that would go away with a little TLC. Hasn't popped up in a long time so that's a plus. Although I have had this issue, I still would recommend this to anyone looking for a nice primary monitor. Asus is a very reputable company, For any issues that you may have, they can help you to fix or replace your product entirely. DO NOT be afraid to order this monitor because of the "what if". Definitely worth the money and I will most likely be picking up a second to replace my second monitor
I bought this to replace my first monitor, which was a 60hz, 21 inch ASUS display that served me fairly well. I had originally intended on a different model, but between planning and purchasing, this model became both less expensive and more plentiful than what I had intended to buy. While still having better characteristics. And such has been a blessing. The monitor is quick, convenient, and easy to use. Defaults are bright, but easy to play with. There are a lot of things you can do with it, and it seems to run at the 165hz per my testing even with multi-monitor set up. With an Nvidia Geforce card and some homework beforehand, that is. I can already tell this is going to be the start of an awesome relationship. I am using a displayport cable with this monitor in ... I bought this to use on my work computer at home so I can't verify on the refresh rate for clarity in gaming. I really like the adjustable height of the screen and ability to rotate it from horizontal to vertical. It has HDMI, DVI and Display Port connections as well as Built in speakers, audio in and headphone jack. The low blue light settings are nice and can help with eye fatigue.
I’ve now had this monitor for a while now as my main driver. To put it simply, its amazing for the price. Colors are sharp, the frame rate is smooth, and having g-sync makes everyrhing just feel perfect. My favorite aspects of the monitor are the adjustability in height, tilt, and rotstion. Plus, they have an fps mode thst helps show any enemies on screen. Put simply, i have a hard time using my 4k monitor now. I ordered a second to replace it.
I've had this monitor and 2 of the previous VG258Q (144hz version) monitors for many years and have not a single issue on any of them. This is an extremely good monitor and will go the distance while being an extremely reasonable price. I've recently mounted them as well and had no problem doing so, nor with any wear and tear.Highly, highly recommend!
Too good! Monitor really good for gaming! Great quality and response time is just awesome. Bought this online and was picked for me on the same day. The only thing is when setting up the monitor you'll realise your on 60hz. You'll need to go the settings and change it. HDMI cord will only go up to 120hz so make sure you connect the 'Display port' as this will make sure you get the full 165hz. Again you'll need to change it in your settings. You can even tilt the screen back and Rotate it too which is really good. So if you really looking to get into gaming i will highly recommend buying this monitor as it's worth the money!
