Asus ZenWiFi Pro ET12 (2-PK) AXE11000 Wifi 6E Tri-Band Whole-Home Mesh System

Bought this to replace a Google Nest mesh system, which had been starting to annoy me. This thing is light years better, and worth every penny. The performance is stellar....I've got a 1.4 gbps connection through Xfinity and I'm getting around 1.3 gbps on the 6 Ghz band, and around 700-800 mbps on the 5 ghz band when in the same room as router or satellite (and that's with wireless backhaul but I plan to switch to wired backhaul once I get a hole cut to run wires). The range is outstanding...5 ghz speeds still hold up around 500 mbps through multiple walls. Speeds still hold up well even when signal strength is around -70 dbm. Plus I needed 3 points in my house on Nest where I only need two for the ET12.The customization and options beat every other mesh out there. Nest gave me limited options which made things frustrating (like no ability to separate bands or filter by band). For example, sometimes my bedroom TV would connect to 2.4 ghz band when in same room as Nest, when I wanted 5. With the ET12, I was able to block the TV from the 2.4 band to force it to connect to the 5 band and still keep single SSID. There are tons of other options as well.100% happy with this purchase, and delivery from B&H was very fast.

6G Signal disappears and does not show for Any 6e capable device constantly.Moving between node results in extreme lag and often needing to turn wifi on and off on phones to get them to re-connect or force them to move.Mesh Node restarts when certain laptops (alienware) try to connect to it.QoS does not work at all in any form what so ever.Even Wired devices on the Node will just lose connection for no reason until their NIC is disabled then re-enabled. Unplugging does not work. It is like the Node hard crashed the NIC. (Same devices work without fail on any and all other networking equipment.Patching and support is rare and worthless. Day 1 issues still exist. So the extreme price for these devices is not going towards any degree of support.

As a previous network engineer, my perspective has always been more corporate which means my home network is secured and I prefer a good mesh with features and interface that provide the ability to control everything from the firewall to DHCP and QoS. While the interface is pretty good, every time I made a change to do something like add a static IP or add one of the mesh, the primary router locked up. Yesterday, my ISP connection seemed up however, I was unable to access the interface and had to reboot it, again. While it's still early, the lock-up on the interface is just not reliable for my use. Coverage is decent (I have three) and a 2100 sq ft house. I work all over my house which is why I need the coverage. Setting up the firewall is easy with options that allow you to use keywords or URLs which is pretty convenient. The VPN options are nice as well. However, if I want to add or change DHCP, including the range or add a static address, the primary should not lock up and adding a mesh client should not cause it to lock up. One of the mesh was also locked up and had to be rebooted. I'll be looking through the forums and ASUS for any similar issues and possibly firmware updates. If there are no firmware updates or similar issues, I can only assume my units have some issue which will lead me to go back to a more corporate use such as Ubiquity (which I had previously and worked great but the interface was lacking). Going to give it a few more weeks, possibly a month.
